Many thanks for all the advice. I have now upgraded to 2.8.22 and added GMIC to my installation - lots to experiment with there. Looks like masking down to the specific areas of interest was something I should have been doing all along (I had thought of this but not got round to trying it).

Hi All, I created a custom ICC profile and I get wrong color when printing.. I think to made profile correctly but I'm not sure to make printing process well. In Gimp there is not option to ICC profile when printing, isn't? Hence what I made is: -I opened the image ( Prophoto profile) -
