Well, if you just want to know how many servers you can run, probably 4 to 5
instances of srcds.
But if you succeed and get full servers, you can run them for about 5-6 days
before you run out of bandwidth.
I do ~500GB in 10 days, and that's with a 24, a 16, and a 30 player TF2
server.

Subject: RE: [hlds] Zero or negative gravity crashes
Why not just detect what their cl_cmdrate is (I think it can be done), and
if it's an insane value, boot them.
Executing commands on them is useless, valve made it so you can alias over
commands and probably cvars, making it impossible to execute commands on
them if they aliased the command over.
Funny, but scary.

FYI, apparently the changes I did in the physics.cpp seemed to solve the
problem, my server hasn't crashed for over 2 days.
I simply added checks to make sure the pointer physenv wasn't null before
doing anything with it, whether this is the right fix or not I do not know,

Yeah, I didn't really want to pull down the sdk, but hey, I'll try the
patch and rebuild the dll. Thanks for the info!

Bandwidth isn't the problem.
I've ran 24 man CS:S server, when it was full, no lag pings were fine.
My network connection with the server is usually around 6mbs down/6mbs up.
Also, Standard HL2DM limits you to 16 players, I took off that limit to see
what would happen, and sure enough it goes
I've been getting these crashes too, and it seems to be coming from
physics.cpp in the PhysFrame function. The pointer physenv is NULL.
At least that's according to the mini-dump files. I went ahead and put a
modified version of the server dll (which we can do now since we got the

don't need a CD-KEY at all.
