could find on USR/3Com's site is a .exe file. How are you supposed to do a
firmware upgrade with a Windows executable file?

unplug the AC cable, remove the battery, hold reset
for 10-20 sec., repeat a few times, reinsert
battery, boot using reset.
Failing which, open up the 'Book to disconnect the
PRAM battery.

actual device on the Logic board. My suggestion would mirror Mad Dogs, and add
cleaning the connector with contact cleaner not an etching solution.

Here's a very rough explanation:
I tried resetting the PowerManager, etc. before doing
the following:
I installed a small170 Meg Compaq brand internal IDE
HDD. I initialized with the Disk Tools (7.6) floppy
and installed the driver. Booting from the external
SCSI, I changed start-up
I just got a Kanga off eBay to replace my 3400c. Can I use my new
3400c battery in the Kanga?? They look the same but have different
part numbers.
Yes. The batteries are interchangeable. In fact, a Kanga can use any battery
from any PowerBook 190, 5300, 3400 or another Kanga.
