Re: Kobobooks - shard
Hello Tony, Did you read the comments on Applevis and not just the original post? The comments are level 3 headings and should explain how to use this app. I use Kobo all the time and have over 80 books in my Kobo library. It isn't 100% accessible at the moment because I can't get the links to references to work, but for reading fiction, it's great. You can just do a two-finger flick up to read a whole chapter, and at the end, you slide your finger down the righthand side of the screen to the link, where you do the double-tap and hold to go to the next chapter. Re: VoiceDream Reader, Activator, and treating books like music with hardware buttons
Hi. The phone has to be jailbroken to allow you to use the hardware keys on the device as play/pause, previous track, and next track buttons. The phone does not have to be jailbroken to use those commands with VoiceDream. The jailbreaking of the device is needed to make the audio control commands available through hardware buttons on the device, it is not needed to make those audio control commands work on VoiceDream. I hope that's of use. Aman On 3/12/13, Mary Ellen Sanchez sanchez.maryel...@gmail.com wrote: So the phone has to be jail broken for this right?? -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Aman Singer Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 1:21 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: VoiceDream Reader, Activator, and treating books like music with hardware buttons Hi, all. I'm sure everyone knows about this, but it's something I just discovered and I thought it would do no harm to put it out there in case someone has, like me, not yet found out about it. If one has jailbroken his device, and has VoiceDream Reader, one can use Activator to enable playing, pausing, and moving between books as if they were songs using hardware buttons on the device. For example, one can cause the pressing of the two volume buttons together, wherever they are pressed and whether the device is locked or unlocked, to play/pause the reading of a book. Again, for example, the pressing of the volume down followed by volume up can move to the next book, while the pressing of volume up followed by volume down can move to the previous book. To set this up, simply install Activator, which is available from the standard Cydia repositories, go into the program, and set up your favourite hardware keys as shortcuts for the previous track, next track, and play/pause functions. The nice thing about this, besides the fact that you can use it while the device is locked, is that what these functions do is dependent upon the last item you played. That is, if you last played a book with VoiceDream, your previous/next/PlayPause will act to go to the previous book, next book, and will play/pause books, not music. If, on the other hand, you played a file from the music player last, those functions will apply to the music, not to the book. Note also that you can, in VoiceDream settings, modify things so that the previous/next track buttons move by 30 seconds within a book, rather than going to the previous or next book in the list. If anyone is unfamiliar with Activator, this podcast http://empoweringtheblind.com/2013/02/12/new-episode-activator-can-your-smar tphone-really-be-smartt/ explains it. I ordered a StandScan Pro and 12V adapter yesterday. I also did not find the 12V battery holder on the site; even directly on the StandScan Pro product page itself, where relevant accessories are also displayed, and you can add them just by checking their corresponding boxes, the only things shown are the 12V DC adapter and some camera lens kit. I don't think the SC folks meant to sell the 12V battery pack; the description just says that different battery packs can be used, a 9V or 12V, implying that you could go out and just get what you wanted from anywhere. Actually just looked at the FAQ page on the site, and it seems to confirm this; question is why are batteries not included, and answer is that batteries are not allowed to be transported by air. Hi, this all depends on how you have your computer set up to download and store files that are downloaded. I have mine set to click on the save option and I download it and can play it and other similar files in whatever application I wish. I am not sure why so many people are having such a bad time with this. I can try to find some other place to house it. I have uploaded it to applevis, but I have not heard if it has been accepted. RE: Announcing: All-new Bluetooth Speaker availeble now!
Hi Chris, I don't know the answer exactly, but my guess would be that if you plug the speaker into your headphone jack with the included 3.5mm audio cable then this would overwrite Bluetooth and Airplay, I mean as soon as you plug in the audio cable all audio output goes that way anyhow and there really is little reason why you would want to play via Bluetooth or Airplay if that cable is plugged in. On my Jambox the 3.5mm cable has priority, if for example I connect the Jambox to my laptop with the cable I cannot play to it via Bluetooth from my iPhone. As far as playing via Bluetooth or Airplay that really is preference, the benefit if you want to call it that is that if you use Airplay you could play music or an audio book on the speaker and still use Voiceover on the device to do something else, maybe write an email or play a game or whatever. If you use Bluetooth then both Voiceover and whatever else you are playing goes to the speaker and there would be that tiny delay in reaction time if you were typing on the virtual keyboard you get with all Bluetooth devices. I think it's definitely nice that the speaker supports Airplay. The only thing that holds me back just a bit is the fact that the speaker is not able to also be a speakerphone, but then again it is only $70. I have access to a line of Bluetooth devices including a speaker/speakerphone like the Jambox from a company called Outdoor Technology. Their speaker is called the Turtle Shell as it's shape is somewhat like that of a green seaturtle. I only heard it at a trade show with a lot of background noise, but I would say it sounds probably as good as or better than the Jambox, but the regular retail is only $149 directly from their website. Anyhow, I'll post a separate message about it in order to keep the topics apart, but it is also a speakerphone, it's IPX6 water/dust proof, shockproof and can be mounted in various ways. I left the email header there as well as it contains their driect email in case somebody has more questions: -Original Message- From: StandScan [mailto:i...@standscan.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 7:55 AM To: siegh...@live.ca Subject: Re: Standscan Inquiry Hi Sieghard, We do have a 12Volt battery pack available, it was an oversight as we mentioned it on the site but didnt have it listed live as an accessory. Thanks for checking up on it. The link to it is http://standscan.com/StandScan/index.php/accessories/12v-dc-battery-pack.htm l It fits 8 regular AA batteries which is the most standard type. So doesnt cost much to run it off the battery pack. The type of LEDs used in lamps are different from the SMD (Surface mount device) type used to light up the StandScan Pro. These require 12Volts for optimal power. Our 9V pack is able to power the LED's but not to its maximum brightness however it is a good option for those who want to travel light with their StandScan Pro. The 12V battery pack with 8 AA batteries inserted is considerably heavier. Do feel free to get in touch for any further information. Thanks Harry On 13 Mar, 2013, at 11:55 AM, Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@hotmail.ca wrote: Hello Harry, Thanks for your quick reply and the information. Your Standscan continues to be a hot discussion topic on the Viphone list and quite a few people have said they ordered it. However, there seems to be some confusion regarding the mention of a 12 Volt Battery Pack with Pencil Cell batteries. People seem to be under the impression they can order this from your website, but others who ordered the Standscan Pro said the only accessory option they saw was the 12 Volt adapter. Could you clarify what this 12 Volt Battery Pack/Adapter is all about? Where can people get it and what exactly are the pencil cell batteries, do you have a proper battery designation? I am afraid that if they are some sort of specialty battery and you require a number of them this could get pretty expensive. Lastly, why are the LED's much brighter when used with the 12 Volt adapter as compared to the 9 Volt battery? There are such efficient LED's available which use very little power. I have a retail business and sell Petzl headlamps and some of the models provide 65 Lumins with 4 LED's and 2 Triple A batteries. Hello. I did get a response, but it may as well have been no response. I realize that any response from Apple Accessibility is worth noting, but they didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know. I was looking in the Accessibility settings and in the hearing section, there was a blurb about Live Listen. When the home button is triple clicked, if your aids are paired with the phone and the external Bluetooth piece, the iPhone goes into a mode called Live Listen. Live Listen helps the iPhone to act as another microphone to catch sound and send it to your hearing aids. My audiologist said that if it worked as advertised, that it could save someone about $250 in expense for a similar piece of equipment. I have tried triple clicking the home button to bring this option up, but no matter if I turn the hearing aid button on or off on the hearing aid options screen, my VoiceOver toggles on/off. I have VO set to triple click home, but I was thinking that a list of options would come up to allow you to choose the Live Listen. has anyone heard of this Live Listen feature? Does it work with VoiceOver, and/or is there another way I can turn it on? Not knowing much about the feature, I thought it was always on the iPhone, but my audiologist said that it is not on her iPhone 4. Perhaps it was introduced in the 4S or the 5. RE: Headphone mic
Hi, If it was just SIRI I would say go into Settings, General, SIRI and make sure it didn't somehow get turned off. If you make a phone call using the headset and people can't hear you, it most likely means your headset has become defective. You can always try and make a voice recording with whatever recording apps you may have. If you never purchased or downloaded any from the app store you definitely have the native Apple Voice Memos app. If that doesn't work, either, then it's most likely because your headset is broken. If your iPhone is less than a year old this should be covered and if you bought Apple Care it is definitely covered and Apple will send you a new headset along with a return package to send the defective one back. Just test it again and if it appears to be due to a defective headset and you are covered give Apple a call and they set it up for you. If you have an Apple Store nearby you can always go there and they'll take care of it. Review: iCanonic Elite Rechargeable Extended iPhone 5 Battery Case
This case is specifically for the iPhone 5. It doubles as a case and as an external battery pack. On the plus side, I purchased the case for $49 on Amazon, and works as advertized. That's $30 cheaper than the Mophie JucePack air with the same MAH rating of 2000 Mah, and it looks very similar. With the iPhone 5 of course, you have the headphone jack at the bottom along with the lightning connector. You can pull the bottom off the case so that you can have access to the headphone jack as you normally would, and this is both a good and bad thing. Good because it offers more flexibility, but potentially bad because it's easy to lose. The top of the case also comes off, and this is specifically for removing the phone. All other ports are usable, and there is a slot open on the back for the camera. Also like the Mophie products, the unit takes the speaker and routes the sound to the front of it instead of it coming out of the bottom. Finally, just like the Mophie, there is a micro USB plug which charges both your phone and the case, thus eliminating the need for that annoying proprietary lightning connector. The one difference between this case and the Mophie beyond the price is that there is a button on the back which you press and hold in for 4 or 5 seconds to activate the battery in the case instead of a switch. A user with no vision can't easily tell whether the unit is on or off unless they go into the status bar of the phone and see whether the internal battery is charging or not. The Mophie did allow you to know very easily whether it was on or off based on the positioning of the switch. However, since I saved $30, that small inconvenience is more than worth it to me. Re: Review: iCanonic Elite Rechargeable Extended iPhone 5 Battery Case
I don't mean for this to sound stupid, but if this works for an iPhone 5, would it also work for an iPod 5th gen? I bought an iPod 5th gen back in early November of last year. Since buying it, I have had to replace the lightning cable several times as they just quit working. I am tired of replacing these cables. I looked at Amazon but could not find anything about this product being used for an iPod 5th gen. I figured if I got this, I wouldn't have to continually keep unplugging the lightning cable from my device, which may be what is causing them to stop working. I have gone through 4 cables so far and am now needing to buy yet another one. It doesn't make sense to me. I know I really miss the 30 pin that I had with my older devices. -Original Message- From: Scott Davert Sent: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 3:11 PM To: viphone Subject: Review: iCanonic Elite Rechargeable Extended iPhone 5 Battery Case This case is specifically for the iPhone 5. Re: Kobobooks - shard
Hello Irene, I'm writing this as I try to buy a book using Safari on my iPhone. I've flicked around and found Go. Flicking to the left I find the text field. I entered Ann Cleeves and double-tapped Go. I set the rotor to Headings and flicked down to find the first title. Flicking left from the author's name, I found Send as gift, then Buy now. The next screen asks me to sign into Kobo. On the next screen I entered my username and password and clicked Continue. On the next screen, I flicked right to the Buy now button and clicked it. I should now find the book in my Kobo library. I quit Safari, waited until the confirmation e-mail arrived, then launched the Kobo app and my book was there. I hope this helps. Re: The Turtle Shell - possibly the coolest bluetooth speaker
Hi Cieghard. Wow, sounds like a nice speaker. Have you looked at the Libratone Zipp speaker? I don't remember if this speaker has been discussed on this list, but this speaker also sounds really cool, and I think this is what I'm looking for. The Beat box bluetooth speaker does also sounds really nice, but the Libratone have better sound and I think it would fit my needs more than the beat box speaker. Not saying the Beat box speaker is bad though. Best regards: Søren Jensen Mail MSN: s...@coolfortheblind.dk Website: http://www.coolfortheblind.dk/ Den 13/03/2013 kl. 16.29 skrev Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca: Hi List, I mentioned another choice of a bluetooth/wireless speaker in one of my messages regarding the Beatbox. This speaker is from a company called Outdoor Technology and it is called Turtle Shell. The Beatbox has an attractive price, but the reason why I probably won't buy it is the fact that it is not also a speakerphone. I like the fact that with my Jambox I can have my iPhone charging, be elsewhere in the house yet still take a phone call and I could do this with the Turtle Shell. What I don't like about the Jambox is the fact that I don't have any Playback controls like Play/Pause or Previous/Next. I know the Big Jambox has that and one way to at least stop playback is to just turn off the Jambox which works in a pinch, but it's definitely a shortcoming. Anyhow, I think the Turtle Shell is superior to the Jambox in that it looks much cooler, it has more features and even at the $150 price directly from the Outdoor Technology website it's $50 cheaper than the Jambox. It has playback controls, speakerphone, you can drop it and even get it wet as it has an IPX6 waterproof/dustproof rating. The IPX6 definition is as follows: Water: Powerful water jets Water projected in powerful jets (12.5 mm nozzle) against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. Test duration: at least 3 minutes. Water volume: 100 litres per minute Pressure: 100 kPa at distance of 3 metres. Dust: Dust tight No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact. I'll post a review on the list once I get a Turtle Shell. I only heard it at a trade show with lots of background noise, but it sounded at least as good and maybe better than the original Jambox. My retail store specializes on outdoor/camping and hunting gear and I will bring in a few of these so anybody who is interested can drop me a line. I am not sure how it would work to ship to the States, but definitely if you are in Canada I am willing to do a special price, what exactly it would be depends on my final cost, but I assume it could be around $110 to $120 Canadian + shipping. The Turtle Shell, by the way, comes in Black, White, Red, Blue, Neon Green, Neon Pink and Seafoam Green. The Turtle Shell also has a threaded hole which can accept a standard camera tripod mount and Outdoor Technology has an accessory called the Turtle Claw which allows you to mount the Turtle Shell speaker on any round tube of up to 1.5 inches in diameter. Examples would be a bike handle, a camp or beach chair etc. I have been using the Outdoor Technology OT Slim stereo Bluetooth headset which is a standard over-the-head design. It has rather large foam earpieces which sit quite comfortably over your ears and in my opinion it sounds relatively good even for the occasional music, definitely awesome for books and so on. It works great with my 4S and it's quite a stirdy headset, not the lightest, but I like it. If anybody wants to check out Outdoor Technology, you can go to the following website: http://www.OutdoorTechnology.com Following is the Turtle Shell description from the website: Outdoor Tech’s Turtle Shell is pure RAD. Bad ass rugged, shock proof, water resistant speaker with slamming bass and tight sound all packed into this designer looking Turtle inspired case. It connects wirelessly via Bluetooth® to nearly any mobile device, has 10+ hours of full blast play time and a built in Mic so you can prank call your buddies in between tracks. The Turtle is built for action, and is the first and only bluetooth speaker to feature a standard camera threading so you can mount it to any tripod, like the Jobi Gorilla Pod, or camera mount on the market. The Turtle Claw by Outdoor Tech is a must have accessory if you want to mount this awesome bundle of sound to your bike, boat, golf cart, shopping cart, baby stroller or whatever the hell you want to mount it to. The hollow base port allows the Turtle to THUMP in a way you would never expect from such a small package, that combined with the ultra-high end components that Outdoor Tech used to build the Shell makes it the premier portable wireless bluetooth speaker on the market. Libratone Zipp speaker
Hi all. I don't remember if those have been discussed here on the list before. If they have, I'll look back in the archive to see what people have said about them. Does someone have any experiences with this speaker? They sounds really amazing, with lots of nice features, great design and great sound. Libratone is a danish company, and the speakers are being soled world wide. The FAQ which is enough for me to fully understand how it all works and their website in generel is totally accessible. The setup and configuration of the speaker seems to be totally accessible as well, and they have an iPhone app which I can't use without the speaker, but the things I can reach in the app is fully accessible. The firmware can be updated through the app which I find amazing. All information, specs etc is described on their website, which I find really fantastic. It all seems really accessible out of the box, unlike many new devices which needs to be configured etc. Take a look on their website and let me know what you think: www.libratone.com Best regards: Søren Jensen Mail MSN: s...@coolfortheblind.dk Website: http://www.coolfortheblind.dk/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Looking for suggestions for heart rate monitoring
I'm looking for something to monitor heart rate while working out, more than likely, a hardware and iphone app combination. anybody know of something like this with a VO friendly iPhone app? I'm thinking something wearable that would send the info via BlueTooth to the iphone and display the info on it's corresponding app. Any suggestions appreciated. -- Best, Rick alfaro -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. OCR of PDFs on my iDevice. Can this be done?
Hello all. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to take an image based pdf file and turn it in to text from an IOS device? I've got text books from the college that come as image based pdf files and would like to be able to read them on my iPhone 5 or iPad 2 instead of the computer. I can do this, but that requires me to use a computer first to OCR the images of the pages and then save them as text or rtf files. It'd be nice to skip this step if possible, and would allow me to study from an IOS device more effectively. Does VoiceDream maybe do this? Thanks for any opinions and suggestions. Re: Announcing: All-new Bluetooth Speaker availeble now!
Oh, what I mean is that how would this thing get configured to join your wifi so it does become available? What I meant by separate network is that some devices need you to connect the IDevice to the network created by the speaker to use airplay, taking away your internet because Internet wouldn't be carried on the speaker's hot spot. - Original Message - From: Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 10:31 PM Subject: RE: Announcing: All-new Bluetooth Speaker availeble now! Hi Brent, I am not sure what you mean by the speaker creating a new network. If it is an Airplay capable device it will simply show up as an Airplay device when you double tap on the Airplay button. The Airplay button is present for all apps that support it, for example, on my iPhone I have it in the music app, the Downcast app, the Audible app and several or maybe all of the music apps and even news apps I have. I wonder how the airplay thing would even work on this thing? I looked at the manuals available and nothing is mentioned on how to use airplay with it. I would assume that if it automatically creates a new network, the limitation will be that you can only stream files you have, not from Pandora or other stream services because when you switch the phone to a new network, the Internet goes away. - Original Message - From: Søren Jensen s...@coolfortheblind.dk To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 9:55 AM Subject: Re: Announcing: All-new Bluetooth Speaker availeble now! The Aftershokz bone conducting earphones might be an alternative that go behind the ear and don't block out other sounds. If there is another reason you woldn't want a device like that, I'm sure wired ones exist, I know the Trekker Breeze likely comes with one, but where they get it from, I'm not sure. - Original Message - From: Sieghard Weitzel To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 10:25 PM Subject: RE: Announcing: All-new Bluetooth Speaker availeble now! Re: OCR of PDFs on my iDevice. Can this be done?
You need to use an OCR package. Voice Dream Reader is not an OCR package. Prizmo can OCR images from your camera roll. For this solution to work, you need to get the PDF page image into the camera roll. 1) Open the PDF file. I do this from directly in mail. 2) Press home and power buttons at the same time to take a screen shot of the first page of the image. The screen shot will be the last photo in your photo album. If there are more than one page in the PDF file: 3) use a three finger flick up to advance the PDF image to the next page. Follow steps 2 and 3 until pictures have been captured of the entire PDF. 4) Open Prizmo and select text. 5) Select the OCR from image option. 6) Remember how many images you captured and count back that many images, or start with an empty photo book. Follow the prompts to OCR the images and save the resulting text files. You will get a separate file for each page. RE: voice dream question
You can use a braille display. There are no special settings. The search button in the lower right, not the bottom but just above the percent indicator, will let you search for a term in the file. Note that the results are presented in a list of all the times that word occurs in the book with some surrounding text, the percentage of the book where that is and then a play sample button, which could just say Play, because it takes you to that place in the book and starts it playing with the Acapella or NeoSpeech voice. I've not tried this with a braille display. There was a discussion earlier about using a braille display with Voice Dream that you may want to look up in the archives. Re: Looking for suggestions for heart rate monitoring
Hi Rick. I'm using the Wahoo Bluetooth Heart Monitor along with the Wahoo fitness app. I haven't played around with it much yet. So it is a work still in progress. You can set up different types of workouts but I can't figure out what type to set up when you are doing a round of different types of exercises. Once you have paired it with the iPhone; You just wet the pads, snap on the monitor and make sure that the heart sensor is turned on in the Wahoo app. I have just started working out so it is all very new to me. I can get VO to read the number once I place my finger on it so it should monitor the changes in heart rate. I had the trainer watching the changes. visually. Next time I am going to wear my earPods and I should be able to monitor the changes myself. I find it very comfortable and non-intrusive to wear. It's $75.00 if memory serves me correctly. RE: Google Reader To Shut Down July 1st
Yes, it's a two part issue. Getting a solid cloud based rss set up that ccan also synchronize with portable devices. Using Outlook 2010, I guess I can sync to its rss feature, but even then, reader is better because of being able to sort into folders, set the page to automatic refresh and just zip down the various entries of a search result, folder or individual feed without any problems. That and the syncing to portable devices. Outlook's not going to do that. Neither is the IE rss client that's not all that either. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Grant Hardy Sent: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 7:40 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Google Reader To Shut Down July 1st True, but the Google Reader API is the only accessible way I know of to sync feeds between a computer and a mobile device. Re: OCR of PDFs on my iDevice. Can this be done?
Hello Chuck. Sadly, iBooks will not work in this situation. It will of course display the text, but since that text is actually an image, there is no way to read it with VoiceOver. Re: MLB audio feeds are included on the Apple TV, and a heads up on the audio feed archives.
Hi Kevin, This is partly true, I work for MLB.com Tech support and the policy is that all games should be available approximately 90 minutes after a game has been broadcasted live. Just a bit of a warning; the connected devices which are currently supported fully during Spring training are the Roku player, the Panisonic, and the Xbox 360. The rest of the connected devices are kind of iffy as far as getting them to work goes, so don't be surprised if your apple tv doesn't quite work correctly with mlb.tv during Spring training... Of course, once the regular season starts all of the connected devices should work just fine... Hi. If you have an Apple TV, and subscribe to MLB TV premium, I have good news. The audio feeds to games are being listed for the teams. For Spring training not all teams are broadcasting the games, but if the audio is available it will be listed. Here's a heads up about the archived audio broadcasts. They are there, and you do get audio, eventually. The first time I tried to listen to an archived audio feed I thought something was wrong, because I waited for about ten minutes and didn't hear anything. I called up MLB, and was told the audio feeds weren't being archived. Since I had nothing else to do, I decided to let an audio archive play until it either started or it went away. After about half an hour the audio started, and I heard the Reds beat the Brewers, or at least part of it, since I went to sleep during the game. That's just for your information. GO REDS! Iphone 5 questions
Hello to the awesome iPhone group! i have some iPhone 5 questions I hope some people can answer. Tomorrow the iPhone is coming to my house...is there a way to activate VO out of the box at all? These other questions have to do with Verizon. I've had ATT before, but am hoping verizon performs better/faster. Has anyone seen any glaring differences between att and verizon coverage and performance? I heard sometimes you get the cutting in/out static at times, and sometimes garbled speech on one end of the call or another. Also, is verizon's internet performance better than sprints? I had sprint in Daytona florida and it had some of the worst 3g speeds I've ever seen! Try as slow as 12 KB/s and sometimes as fast as 50 kb/sno, that's not a joke. And, I'm not sure how many people could answer this one...but is Verizon as flexible as att when it comes to traveling in the US? With att the iPhone worked pretty much everywhere I traveled. At times att 3g was slow but not too many instances of that happening. My final question deals with battery life. Is battery life comparable between the 4S and the 5? Gosh, i hope the 5 isn't worse than the 4s. Any help will be greatly welcomed. Jordan Norregaard -- The information in this email is confidential and may be legally privileged. RE: Libratone Zipp speaker
Hi Keith and Soren, First of all, Keith, the website is fine, they just have these weird numbers/graphics strings that Jaws reads before it actually says what the link is. I had a quick look and I don't think you can compare this speaker which on their US webstore is listed for $400 with a Jambox, probably not even a Big Jambox and definitely not a $70 Beatbox or the Turtle Shell speaker from Outdoor Technology I posted about. The Libratone would be something you would have to compare to a Sonos Play:5 or a BW Zeppelin Air and the Zip is actually their least expensive speaker, they also make one called Live which I think was $550 or $600 and another one I can't remember the name which is $1,300. These do sound like nice speakers and are probably very good, but like I said, they are targeted at a very different market. I already have my Sonos system everywhere in the house and personally are looking more for something very small and portable which sounds great for books, has a speakerphone in case I want to charge my phone yet move around and something I can throw in my backpack when I'm travelling. The reason why I am going to get the Turtle Shell speaker is mainly because it is made actually by a company that focuses on making a rugged product that can be used outdoors, it's made to withstand a bit of abuse whether it's a drop or a shower while it's sitting on the picknick table. Re: Fitbit
1 more question. Logging food isn't a major deal for me because I use myfitnesspal which is very accessible. Can you tell me about what you paid for the devidce? I believe in daring to be different-if different means looking up rather than putting down, in helping rather than hurting. I'll be as different as I can. -- Denis Waitley - Original Message - From: Nancy Wyman nancywyma...@gmail.com To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 8:49 PM Subject: Re: Fitbit Roger, I have very little usable vision I mostly go by sound. I have not logged food yet. I use weight watchers for that. I have the fitbit 1. I like it pretty well. Of course you can't get any information off of the fit bit directly. You have to get it all from the app and the website. Many things on the app are accessible and I have been able to use it fairly well. People who can see tell me there Is more information visible such as graphs et cetera. But I am happy with it given the information that is accessible to me. It has motivated me. Let me know if you have more specific questions. RE: Review: iCanonic Elite Rechargeable Extended iPhone 5 Battery Case
I don't think an iPhone 5 case would work for an iPod Touch Fifth Gen because while they are the same height and width, the iPhone 5 is thicker and the iPod would probably be lose in the case. If you have so much trouble with the Lightning cable why not try one of the Lightning to 30-Pin adapters, then you can continue to use 30-Pin cables.
