[Vo]:E-Cat open source replication
Hi All, I have been trying to replicate the E-Cat transmutations in an open-source kind of way and I'm ready to start asking the community for suggestions on how to proceed. I have two identical reactors that I can pressurize with hydrogen up to 20 bars and heat to 300C. I can measure, graph, and log the temperatures of the two units as they are heated in parallel. One unit contains Ni powder, the other sand, and I am trying to replicate the transmutation of the nickel. (My whole setup is $2K) My first few experiments have been with just 30nm nickel powder and hydrogen at 8-9 bar pressure heated to 250C. So far, nothing obvious that suggests a reaction. I do not have radiation detection or a spectrometer, so I can only watch for a temperature difference. The two main unknowns are prepping the Ni powder and the mystery catalyst(s). My understanding is that the Ni should be degassed to remove oxides, or otherwise processed. Besides leaving my samples under 8.5 bars (120psi) of H pressure for a few days, I have not tried any preparation. (Isotopic enrichment is not an option.) I do have a vacuum pump, but don't have a step-by-step recipe for degassing or hydrogen loading. Suggestions welcome. Anyone know how to create tubercles on Ni powder?! The mystery catalyst list of possible suspects include: Ti, C, MnO2, Mn, Co, Na, NaO, Li, LiO, K, KO... Does the catalyst convert hydrogen to H+? Is there something else to try? What would you like to see tried for a catalyst? I created a simple wordpress blog where I will try to follow replicators. ( ecatbuilder.com) I will write about my research and say what works and what doesn't. Hope to hear from those with constructive ideas for experiments. If you know of professional or novice replicators, please let me know. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:E-Cat open source replication
Hi Damon, I hope your piping is better than class 150, and your fittings better than schedule 40. Preferably you would want to use class 3000 pipe and schedule 80 fittings of 316/316L stainless steal. The strength of stainless steal Thank you for the safety concern. I'm using schedule 40 pipe and fittings. I looked at schedule 160, but the fittings are hard to find and expensive.. so instead, I assume my rig could explode and stay 100m away when heating. I run my experiments remotely using LabView via Remote Desktop and a solid state relay to turn on/off the heat. Also, I can monitor the pressure gauges from my webcam, and so far I haven't seen any real pressure increase when increasing the temp from 20 to 250C. Will try some simple and safe catalysts next. (Mg,Ti, MnO2) - Brad
Re: [Vo]:E-Cat open source replication
A few replies: Terry: Thanks for the link. If I start to see pressure exceed 300PSI (20 bars) I'll think about a rupture disk (but at what pressure?). So far I'm pressurizing up to 150 PSI (10 bars) and with mild heating it has not increased more than a few PSI. (I haven't logged pressure very carefully since my webcam can't read the gauge well at a distance, but definitely the needle isn't climbing much.) Rich: So far I'm just working with Ni powder + H (10 bars) + Heat (250C). The 30nm Ni powder is lightly packed in a test tube with steel wool help the hydrogen circulate. No anomalous heat detected. I am posting my results to http://ecatbuilder.com/builders/bhlowe and I'm working on posting actual results (time, temps, heater voltage) rather than just simple graphs. Robert/Peter: The Piantelli/Focardi methods of degassing is very interesting to me. I'd love to try to replicate, but my vacuum pump is not that powerful. Here are some experiments that have shown excess heat: http://newenergytimes.com/v2/library/2004/2004CampariEGoverviewOfH-NiSystems.pdf(but none use nickel in powder form...) Bastiaan: I am in the San Francisco Bay Area too, near Walnut Creek. I would be happy to chat or visit, take suggestions. I am bhlowe on skype. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:E-Cat open source replication
Hi Axil: As usual, very interesting.. and way over my head.. Dimpling and bringing something up to the temperature of melting stainless steel is beyond my ability.. but hopefully others are listening and can try.. I'm not sure that powder coating the reactor wall is required to get transmutation. Exactly how much Ni powder is in a reactor is undisclosed, but in the presumably reviewed by Rossi paper http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=473 (30% of Ni transmutes to Cu) it says “One hundred grams of nickel powder can power a 10 kW unit for a minimum of six months”. How do you put 100 grams of Ni on the surface of the 50cm3 reactor wall? Maybe a rolled tube of material powder coated with Ni. For manufacturing purposes, some kind of mass-produced roll of material seems plausible.. but again, Rossi showed a sample of Nickel powder that had been used in a reaction... and I assume it wasn't scraped off the reactor. I don't expect I can get Rossi level results, but I would be thrilled if I or anyone could get a few measurable degrees difference, or some other type of confirmation that transmutation is occurring. For now, my pile of Ni powder in steel wool is all I can do.. but would be happy to accept any Ni samples that might have tubercles on them! As far as lithium and potassium catalysts, does that mean just raw K or Li or should I use KH or LiH? Or something else? Thanks for your insight. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:What the Breakup Means
What makes you think there is a catalyst? That was my thought too... That even without a catalyst or loading of hydrogen into the nickel, a few degrees of excess heat could be gotten with a low-cost replication attempt. I tried and got no results at 20bars of hydrogen and 250C heat. I also used activated charcoal and other methods to increase the exposed nickel surface area. So.. there is at least some trick to get a reaction. On the other hand, maybe the catalyst is one of the many previously guessed at and is known by Defkalion. People, if you have the means to attempt replication, please join the fun... - Brad Lowe
Re: [Vo]:What the Breakup Means
Ecat builder, have you ever tried reading Piantelli's 2010 patent for Thanks S.A., yes, that is a nice reference. If I had more time and a real lab capable of 10^-9 bar and 500C I would try... Was hoping a little transmutation could be achieved without impulses and pre-loading. If anyone knows of replications of the Piantelli patent, let me know. - Brad
[Vo]:Where's Rossi and other simple questions...
With October fast approaching, I have some easy questions: Where is Rossi right now? Where is his lab/factory that is producing E-cats for the 1MW test? Wouldn't it be easy for someone to follow him from his apartment to the factory? Give an address, count cars in the parking lot, etc? How many people are working in the factory/lab? Who is doing the hiring, engineering, plumbing, safety checks, security, office admin, etc? Has anyone seen help wanted ads from Rossi and/or Defkalion? (Clicking Job Positions on http://www.defkalion-energy.com/ leads to a 404 error.) What are some names and backgrounds of newly hired people working on the E-Cats? Nobody has a friend of a friend who is working this? No leaks by employees? Does this suggest military level secrecy? Seems like Rossi would be getting lots of offers to help work on his invention -- Do we know of anyone who is actually working along side Rossi? Assuming the 1MW reactor heats a flow of water by N degrees, how many liters/sec throughput would be expected where N is 10 to 80 degrees? Does this volume of cold water suggest he would be near a large body of water such as a lake or river? Or would waste heat go, as Defkalion said ...neighbour factories and other installations. One of these installations is Xanthi Police Academy. Does this sound plausible? Has anyone talked to the Xanthi Police Academy to see if they have a hot pipe leading to DGT working E-Cats? http://wikimapia.org/17980152/Police-academy Besides Piantelli, Forcardi and Rossi, has anyone proved or replicated the transmutation of Ni+H+Heat to other elements such as copper? I'd love to hear your responses.. Maybe a little sleuthing is required to get a little better picture of what we can expect in the next couple of months. Cheers, - Brad L
Re: [Vo]:Where's Rossi and other simple questions...
Jed, I don't think it hurts to ask a few softball questions here in hopes that there is some insider information available. I don't expect Rossi to answer here. (Otherwise I'd write to his blog, which he is great about responding to people's non-confidential questions.) This is just standard gossip magazine level questions... People Magazine spends more time/money investigating Justin Bieber each week than I see being spent determining the extent of Rossi's $500T discovery. And pretty much every person on the planet may end up being financially impacted by such a discovery... Daniel, not sure why, but I get a clicking Job Positions on http://defkalion-energy.com/ goes to http://defkalion-energy.com/job-position which is a 404. Again, not my business that the web site has problems, but does seem like having a working site would lead to better hiring, PR, corporate communications, etc. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Where's Rossi and other simple questions...
Hey Axil, Yes, I want inside information.. but purely out of curiosity. My financial interest is about $2000 in replication attempt costs, and the hundreds of hours I've spent learning about the E-Cat. A few people on this list know my true occupation (software developer) and that I'm not a corporate/international spy. Back in the dot com stock market days, investors would look at the parking lot of a company they were interested in investing in. Are people coming in early and leaving late? Working on weekends? That might suggest highly motivated workers working on something big. That kind of information would be pretty easy for someone in FL to get... and would simply help us figure out whether this darn mystery is for real or not. Talking to someone at the Xanthi Police Academy about waste heat received from Defkalion would also be interesting.. Is it steam? How much? What do they use it for? Is it generating heat now? 24/7? This kind of information is not an international trade secret.. but just a simple conversation with the HVAC guy at the police academy might be very interesting. I am all for Rossi making his billions... but my main interest is to see the world have access to cheap and limitless energy... and what that would mean for the future. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:The Rossi Radiowave Reactor
Hey, ecat builder, you wouldn't happen to be a HAM, would you? Or, do you know one? Look around your neighborhood for some who has a Rohn 25 tower in their backyard with an antenna which surely isn't seeking My HAM license expired in 2003. And I don't have any easy way to put wires, electricity, or pulses into my reactor... And Rossi said heat alone was enough to run the reactor.. but that could be a misdirection. I'm currently in wait and see mode as I have run out of simple, safe, and inexpensive ideas on e-cat replication. Rossi has promised 1MW pictures this month--that I hope will restore some collective faith. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:E-cat news at Nyteknik
It would have been nice to see two identical E-Cats, one is chosen at random and charged with hydrogen, the other not... and power is added to both units the same way. If the active one is clearly spewing more heat and steam, anomalous heat would be assured. Lets imagine that the next test shows conclusive proof of a new energy source... 6 to 10 COP... When do the oil companies react and how? Solar and wind power becomes much less competitive.. What else can we expect? Stock prices, desert real estate prices, etc. The skeptics vision of failure is pretty easy to imagine! But the magic of this technology is the what if factor... - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Re: Regarding Rossi and NASA (+ some Piantelli news)
There is NO evidence that Rossi's newer generation E-Cats have ever or will ever explode. Rossi has maintained that in the event that they melt down that they simply stop producing heat. If you happen to be on Rossi's invitation to see his 1MW plant, by all means take whatever precautions you like to keep safe. But to suggest Rossi is an idiot who might kill the top scientists witnessing his invention is just plain silly. Pressure gauges are a few dollars, and I'm guessing Rossi knows how to use one. He might even employ a burst disk or pressure relief valve! Some of you believe there is no reaction, others believe that the reaction is wildly unstable. Rossi says there is a reaction and he can extract at least 6x COE. Seems like we need a good parimutuel betting website where we can put our money next to our opinions. Peace. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Is it possible Rossi has already tested his 1 MW prototype behind closed doors?
I agree with Terry. Rossi is not a build it and take pictures kind of guy. He is surely testing multiple units at once. You don't build an array of something that complex unless you're pretty sure about the individual units. And as soon as practical, you start running multiple units at once... that way you can catch engineering flaws before they are replicated. So the fact that he has a nearly completed array makes me pretty sure he has done some serious testing. It would have been good to see more pictures of his shop to answer: What does he connect to that 2 steam outlet? Does he have water for each cat plumbed? What goes to and from the control box location. What kind of electric power is available to start it up? I do recall quite a long time ago on Rossi's blog someone suggesting that he will need to test every unit before attempting to run them in parallel. He basically said only an idiot would do otherwise and he was well beyond that. My guess is that he is working on the controls. Making sure each cat can start, self-sustain, and stop on demand... with minimal chance of melting or malfunctioning. Rossi has a team of people working on this project--nobody seems to know how many people, but one thing is for sure.. progress is being made, and besides Rossi, nobody is leaking information. Surely Rossi will will keep people a safe distance away from the container when it is running. - Brad Take it from an engineer. He tested it as soon as it was assembled. He might not have run it at capacity; but, it's been tested. Look at the corrosion on the module tested on Oct. 6. All that did not occur on that day. We don't build stuff to look at. :-) T
[Vo]:Steam engines
I've been collecting a few links to steam engines available on the net so that I'm ready when the e-cat's begin shipping. =) Here is an interesting one-- a very small 10HP model ($2K) http://www.greensteamengine.com/ Plans, full units, and licensing available. A much larger one puts out just 5HP http://www.tinytechindia.com/steamengine.htm Alibaba has a number of steam engines, including one http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/109015831/Screw_rotor_steam_engine.html And this one delivers 3KW/h at 116 psi for $3K http://www.biosteamengine.com/article_read_276.html Steam turbines (vs. engines) operate at a much higher speed, temperature and pressure, and require very dry steam. I tried to find something that could plug into a 1MW Rossi container and found a few used and ready to purchase at: http://powerplantsonline.com/ Here is a cool picture of a 500kW steam turbine generator: http://www.utilitywarehouse.com/info2/500kwstg/500kwstg1.jpg It was listed 12/08/09 for $100K and could power your neighborhood. Its hard to tell, but it looks like about a 2 or 3 inch ID pipe for input. Maybe Rossi's 2 outlet is not unreasonable? Here in my area, the power company must buy back any user-generated electricity. So having 2-4kw/h generating 24/7 would be pretty compelling. Also a good way for the electric company to quickly go broke. What other ideas for e-cat are you all thinking about? - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Steam engines
Thanks for the responses everyone. A few quick comments: Hoyt: Are you sure the electric company will want unsynchronized AC? That might make the meter run backwards, but it seems counter-intuitive. Also, $200K/year might be today's price, but that number should quickly approach zero. Once a small fraction of their users have negative bills, the electricity company is going to be in serious fiscal trouble. How will the governments keep the electric companies in business? Axil: I assume S-CO2 engines aren't ready for commercial use? Just saw a few stories about Sandia working on them. Will be interesting to see if producers of big expensive turbines do well or not. Seems like cheap, unmanned, redundant, inefficient generators would be better suited for most environments. Like a water heater.. One or two per house. Jed: Thanks for the clarifications on global warming and heat release. The desert example is brilliant. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Steam engines
Most DC appliances use from 5 to 48VDC. Going from one DC voltage to another is difficult. A friend of mine has a pure solar/battery house wired for 12VDC, 24VDC, and 120VAC. It is complex and a little daunting for the average visitor. A simple low-voltage 48VDC source (like POE 802.3af) would be a nice standard, but for really powering bigger things, you need 380VDC (not much safer than 120VAC). This report shows only 5-7% efficiencies are achieved by going to DC in a data center: http://hightech.lbl.gov/documents/data_centers/DCDemoFinalReport.pdf - Brad
[Vo]:Re: [Vo]:Re: [Vo]:Re: [Vo]:Re: [Vo]:Rossi’s customer
Daniele Passerini has reported that the customer interested in the MW reactor it is a well-known and largest industrial group http://freeenergytruth.blogspot.com/2011/10/ecat-customer-is-large-well-known.html Perhaps GE or Siemens? Speculations? - Brad p.s. Rossi said on his blog that the 1MW reactor would burn 10kg Ni and 18kg of H2 if ran for 180 days. Interesting! http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=510
[Vo]:Your Oct 28 Predictions
Please feel free to write your prediction about the Oct 28 1MW Rossi test. ** Please include a 0 to 100 prediction ** 0 is a scam is exposed, 25 is an unexposed scam, below 50 is failure, and 100 is commercially viable no doubt LENR power. Here is my prediction, mostly taken from comments on Rossi's blog. He starts a group of 6 reactors and waits until they are ready for self-sustaining mode, probably 3 reactors per side. Each reactor group will start quickly, perhaps less than 15 minutes, as the system will not be ice cold. Each successive group of reactors will be kept running with minimum power input as a new group starts. The steam will be condensed in dissipaters and recycled to the plant. Safety mechanisms will be in place to prevent an explosion and everyone will be kept at a safe distance. The 1MW plant will create 1.2MW+ power with less than 2MW sustained input for over 8 hours. Rossi may decide to keep the plant running indefinitely. (At one time he claimed for 2 months.) Rossi claims he has made much more progress than what has been seen in public demonstrations. This is the first big unveiling. My prediction is 90 -- major success but with some details remaining unknown or unverified. - Brad p.s. I've been collecting information from people interested in replicating the e-cat technology. Please email me or reply if you know others attempting replication.
Re: [Vo]:Tailgating on day zero for the E-Cat 1MW.
Per Rossi's blog, the steam is going into a dissapater, and then back into the plant. On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 8:31 AM, Peter Gluck peter.gl...@gmail.com wrote: I understand why it is not permitted to make photos of the Consultants of the Customer, but why not of the steam coming out from the Demo?
Re: [Vo]:ideal client
The first priority is to win the sale. Getting outbid while kicking the tires would be devastating to the customer. The contract will specify that the sale is void if Rossi is using chemical shenanigans. The sooner the customer can start working on the technology, the faster they can establish themselves as the leader in e-cat technology. On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 12:09 PM, Bruno Santos besantos1...@gmail.com wrote: Wouldn't the client bother to open each unit and check what's inside? [Vo]:Re: [Vo]:Re: [Vo]:500kW generator was also running during the 5 hours!
That the E-Cat operates without much noise is good news, and expected considering only a muffled boiling noise is expected. Maybe they took a sound reading from inside the reactor using a noise canceling mic and/or closed the container doors. Maybe it was just an educated guess of little importance, compared to the other aspects of the test they were evaluating. - Brad In the report they reported Noise: 50 dBA, which is below normal room loudness. How could they measure this, when the generator was running all time?
Re: [Vo]:Fwd: Energy Catalzyer: Extraordinary Scams Require Extraordinary Claims
I don't understand the New Energy Times agenda. Very strange that they use Krivit and his continued description of Rossi as a promoter. Now they say it's a good thing nobody has given Rossi much money-- because heaven forbid this technology could have gotten to the public sooner. As I am primarily interested in hydrogen nickel reactions, their spin on it is just insulting. I unsubscribed from their newsletter as a mild protest. By the way, can anyone recommend (preferably good) near future science fiction novels that have cold fusion device as a plot generator? Is there even any?! Our very own Jed Rothwell's book Cold Fusion and the Future is the best I know of on near future sci-fi CF technology. It costs $.99 from amazon and requires a kindle reader (available for any platform, including iOS devices.) http://tinyurl.com/4xm492m Should be required reading here. Re: [Vo]:Mats Lewan on Steam Quality
The value of the first 1MW plant to the first dozen customers will not be its steam, per se: Its getting first-mover advantage on learning about this new technology that might replace 1/5 of the world economy. Yes, the customer probably left the container on site with rights to use it. Rossi says the next container-cat will be ready in 3 months--so a lease-back for sales demos is probably in the contract. However, if the container was indeed trucked off, who knows!? If there is someone in Bologna who could snoop around the Rossi building and send us some intel, that would be fantastic. How many containers in the back yard? Does the generator run during the day or night? Is Rossi hiring like crazy? Or is Rossi packing up to go to the states? Maybe we take a collection to fund a little private investigating - Brad
Re: [Vo]:How to post this on Krivit's Forum? Some Thoughts about Rossi.
Asking about the heat from the dissipaters is a reasonable question. Why don't you email some of the people who attended the Oct 28 demo with a few questions? I emailed Mats and will reply here with any response. You can even ask Rossi on his forum--he is gracious with his responses to polite (hint) questions. With the numbers of people in attendance, someone will surely answer that question. On the other hand, the secret heater remote control is ridiculous, IMHO. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:A real customer would not have accepted the 1MW plant.
The main reason any customer at this stage is buying the E-Cat 1MW plant is to reverse engineer it and/or determine its viability. However, each initial sale (13 now?) probably includes some strict non-disclosure or anti-reverse engineering clauses. So Rossi is probably selling a number to high-profile companies that want advance intelligence and have a good chance of playing by the rules. This strategy gives Rossi additional time to build his corporate and legal teams and secure better patents. ** I got an update to Peter's earlier concern about how much heat was being blown out of the dissipaters ** From Mats I just talked with Rossi and asked him about this. He said the heat wasn't that strong as the fans moved about 150,000 cubic meters of air per hour. I haven't made any calculations but he estimated this to yield a delta T of less than ten degrees centigrade. The four fans had a nominal power of 5 kW. - Brad

Re: [Vo]:Leonardo Corporation is a Paper Company
The registered address is the physical address for the Agent for the company, which can receive corporate mail on behalf of the corporation. In this case, the agent is Travis, James R, at 8 Town Farm Rd. He is an agent for multiple corporations. Lots of small companies set up a business this way--with a PO box, and, when required, a physical address with an agent. (New laws require a permanent address for officers and agents of the corporation.) Rossi has obvious plans to grow exponentially in the next few years. The process will typically involve multiple moves to larger and larger facilities, as his business needs change. The secret facility that he will use to build e-cats is not likely to be already leased and listed as an official address for the corporation. I'm all for a little snooping around to get corporate intel, but I personally am more interested in where he builds his e-cats, where he is hiring, who he is selling to, and the progress he is making on getting his products out the door and into the hands of consumers.. rather than the tired this is more evidence of fraud crowd. Re: [Vo]:Makup of Ni powder in Hyperion
Hi Jed, That list caught my eye as well.. Those are just the impurities in the Ni powder. For instance, my 30nm Ni powder says 99.8%, which means there are a number of impurities. Some clues as to the chemical assist catalyst are there.. the toxic materials used in all modes suggest a non-toxic catalyst. (Which would be fantastic news.. since some of the suspect catalysts, such as SbI3, are pretty nasty.) Also, no talk of isotopic enrichment. Another good sign that the process may be easier than we realize. I think this is good news. Brad

[Vo]:Replication News from Chan
Hi All, Just a brief update on the replication attempt by Chan. Chan is an anonymous poster who claims to have replicated the Rossi reaction using powders on two builder sites, ecatbuilder.com and buildecat.com. He uses an RFG connected to a induction coil to heat the contents of a copper reaction vessel that he fills with a mixture of MgH2, Ni, and Fe. He provides molar percentages and possible catalysts. Quoting: Experiment with RFG to determine sweet spot for initial heating and then sweet spot for maintaining reaction, modulating pulse rate, frequency and power. Wave shape is important. Half wave sweet spots also exist. Key is sending Hydride ion into oscillations (e+p+e = n+e = e + Fusion) http://www.ecatplanet.net/showthread.php?100-Chan-Method-of-Ni-H-fusion Standard disclaimers apply: This is unconfirmed. No videos, images, documented results, or peer reviewed papers to substantiate. Just interesting! This RFG approach is also used by Brian Ahern in his recent patent: http://www.buildecat.com/article_detail/brian-ahern-and-nano-magnetism-3.html - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Crowd-funded test? List of pro-LENR scientists
I think DKG will have a Hyperion for a demo very soon. Take a few barrels of water, a watch, thermometer and run it with power going through a 3A fuse. Heat a barrel of water in an hour, or a whole pool in a couple of days. If DKG does it right, they'll have a number of scientists and reporters on hand and will be ready to take orders or give a solid estimated time to delivery. As far as replication goes, I am leaning towards the Chan method--I think Rossi's internal heater may be a coil used to vibrate the nanoparticles at a resonate frequency. It should not be that hard to take a tube of MgH2, Cu, Ni, Fe and heat it with a coil/RFG at monitor the reaction for radiation. Maybe $5K worth of equipment. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:CALL FOR REDIRECT OF SOME TOPICS OR DISCUSSIONS TO VORTEX-B
Vortex is a great list.. but I think it has outgrown the email list format. I propose moving the list to a modern web forum based product. Modern forums allow embedded HTML/multimedia, moderation, yellow-card/red-card infractions, personal messaging, email protection, full searching, plus all the other features of web over email. talk-polywell.org has a decent forum, but LENR is still marginalized and off-topic. I would be happy to host vortex in any format on my site (ecatplanet.net) and would also be willing to transfer ownership or the domain name to something owned by the vort collective.. There are a number of fascinating writers out there who's work doesn't have a forum for ongoing discussion. (Frank, Axil, Horrace, to name a few.) Web based forums can have unlimited categories that are easily searched for a particular author or subject. This may be inviting too much off-topic discussion, but I've been thinking about this for a while.. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Phen formula from ecatbuilder.com
Hey Aussie, It seems like Chan is doing all his heating by RF coil. A slow tuning of the dial may be all it takes to find a harmonic that works. I take it you've tried the 81.9Mhz figure from Storms? Maybe ask how he came up with that number? I have some new copper pipe, a freq gen, and some new powders coming in.. will keep you posted. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Phen formula from ecatbuilder.com
Hi Peter, That's a lot of pressure and temperatures to work with... Remember the pressure will increase significantly when heated. Every part of your container needs to be rated for whatever the final temp/pressure combination is, including tubing, valves, sealant, etc. I'd like to know how you plan to safely bring hydrogen at 2000psi to 500C and then back down to a vacuum (of indeterminate pressure) inside a glovebox. But, yes, you can order a tank with a hydrogen regulator (300 psi) and have the bottle filled to 2000psi and go direct from the bottle to your device. (Of course, your welding shop can give you advice on this... which will be don't do it--you'll kill yourself.) - Brad
[Vo]:Theoretical Feasibility of Cold Fusion According to the BSM Supergravitation Unified Theory
New monograph is available on Cold Fusion. 26 pages of good reading. Author: Stoyan Sarg Sargoytchev, York Univeristy, Toronto, Canada Source: http://vixra.org/abs/1112.0043 Discussion: http://www.ecatplanet.net/content.php?140-bsm-supergravitation PDF: http://ecatplanet.net/downloads/pdf/1112.0043v2.pdf Abstract: Advances in the field of cold fusion and the recent success of the nickel and hydrogen exothermal reaction, in which the energy release cannot be explained by a chemical process, need a deeper understanding of the nuclear reactions and, more particularly, the possibility for modification of the Coulomb barrier. The current theoretical understanding based on high temperature fusion does not offer an explanation for the cold fusion or LENR. The treatise Basic Structures of Matter - Supergravitation Unified Theory, based on an alternative concept of the physical vacuum, provides an explanation from a new point of view by using derived three-dimensional structures of the atomic nuclei. For explanation of the nuclear energy, a hypothesis of a field micro-curvature around the superdense nucleus is suggested. Analysis of some successful cold fusion experiments resulted in practical considerations for modification of the Coulomb barrier. The analysis also predicts the possibility of another cold fusion reaction based on some similarity between the nuclear structures of Ni and Cr.

Re: [Vo]:Forbes: The Year of Cold Fusion
Forbes is all about business and investing. I've been a subscriber 25 years. This is my take: Gibbs is alerting readers that there is a probability that energy stocks could quickly lose value due to a Cold Fusion device impacting traditional energy demand. Some believe it is a zero percent chance, and others think it approaches 100%. And like Who Shot JR, many people already have significant insider knowledge. Many investors only exposure to new science is through business media. So exposure in a respected business magazine, even insubstantial blather, can cause smart investors to take action. For instance, putting in stop loss orders, buying potential Rossi Partner stocks (GE,LMT,SI,DRC?), or buying long term short positions (LEAPS) on certain sectors. And private research and insider trading will also impact the volatility of energy stocks. Jed's insider has yet to be identified (?) but there are hundreds of companies that employ analysts who might be interested in profiting from the truth or fiction behind LENR. It will be an interesting time for the stock market. Gibbs could give more evidence that LENR is about to go commercial, but only Rossi and DKG have products announced and neither are guaranteed to be successful. - Brad

[Vo]:Chan Method Update
I got an email from the Chan replicator... He says he has achieved 6 COP. He has sent me a few messages but does not return any questions to me.. but he apparently reads what I send him. I said I would post his update. http://www.ecatplanet.net/showthread.php?100-Chan-Method-of-Ni-H-fusion Obviously, take this and all Chan updates with a grain of salt, as no pictures, data, or other corroborating data has been produced. However, his method seems novel and reproducible. I do like the idea of using a RFG of some sort to do the induction heating of the powders. An RFG that Chan reports using is on ebay for $200. But it is unclear to me and others I've talked with whether induction heating can heat and stimulate the powder contents of a copper tube. As far as my own replication attempts, I've gotten my thermocouples logging more accurately and I've been adding Fe Cu powders to my mix.. heating with a band heater and H2 under pressure without success. But have been spending most my time on software development for a certain trade show in SF next week. - Brad

Re: [Vo]:Chan Method Update
Chan, a mystery Ni-H replicator claims to be working on plans for a 10MW Metal Hydride Nickel Fusion unit. He claims to have patents and will update people on the following web site: http://chanfusionpower.chan.host-ed.me/ It says the following currently: Chan Fusion Power 10 MW Fusion Power plant in steel shipping container under planning and construction. This unit envisioned to supply a flow of water at 100 C using input water at ambient temperature. The reactor core will essentially consist of an oil filled containment vessel electrically maintained at 100 C with 10 stacked plates, each holding 100 10 KW cartridges. The reactor contains water tight ribbed plate compartments which act as a plate heat exchanger. The fusion reaction within the cartridges is initiated by the temperature of the oil up to an oil temperature of 100 C and there after by balance of RFG input to cannisters and the oil heating units. Price of the 10 MW unit is forecast to be $100.000. This Metal Hydride Nickel Fusion unit is constructed in accordance with our patents applied for. All progress will be reported on this web site. I am too busy to waste time on communications and certainly do not need publicity. This site is simply an announcement of an alternative for those planning on using low quality heat on a very large scale. I am hoping he starts to post some pictures, data, links to patents, specs, etc... - Brad
Re: [Vo]:DGT Screenshot
I'm pretty sure they are both temperatures. Heater temp (red) and reactor temp (blue) is my guess. The heater is in the 100C range, the other in the 400C range. The spikes are a puzzle though... Maybe transient interference from turning on or off the heater? It doesn't seem possible for the tip of a thermocouple probe to lose 150 degrees C in an instant. But I suppose if the heater is concentrated or cooled by something, it is possible. While red might be something besides temp, it turns out measuring AC voltage from a variac is not cheap/easy to do with data acquisition boards... and there would be a much bigger lag between turning the dial and getting a heat change. If they are like me, they leave the variac at some voltage and just turn it on or off with a solid state relay or thermostat controller. - Brad My guess is the red (Ch2) is the input from the Variac and blue (Ch1) is the reactor temp. Or do you think it has something to do with the democrats and republicans? ;-) T

But later in the video a tube goes into the T and out up towards the ceiling.. which hints towards venting.. not the addition of a secret gas ingredient. At 0:21 there is a picture of a lead going into the center of the reactor? Almost looks like a spark plug lead. High voltage? Hi Jed, The database/searching is looking good. Have you tried adding full text search? (Searching for alumina powder returns no hits, even though some of the PDF's use that term. Extracting the text from the pdf and adding it to the database can be automated.) What database fields are available for the library? If you open the database and ftp/html/php to a number of trusted developers, you could probably get some really interesting results... Some additional fields that could be useful: Full text extracted from source Language Citations (list of references that ) Followers (list of people who like the paper) Discussion or wiki for the paper (vbulletin style?) Format(s) (HTML, PDF, PPT, etc) Some kind of Rating system Major categories (Ni-H, Pd, bubble, etc.) Maybe add a discussion or request section where users/researchers can put in what would be helpful to them.. Little changes like adding a COUNT(author) link that would display the other (N) papers written by any given author.. just takes a good php developer a few minutes to add each feature.. Developers who produce custom query/search pages could run them by you and the good ideas could be merged into the final product.. (As far as WordPress goes.. I'm not a huge fan, but its cheap and the plug-ins are plentiful.) - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Speculation: Where is Rossi allegedly manufacturing his eCats?
I enjoy speculation... Since http://defkalion-energy.com/ is offline and news is quiet... Since Rossi can be removed from his position of CEO by the Leonardo board of directors, it means that Rossi has sold a majority of his company shares in exchange for cash, talent, and other business assets. The purchasing of Leonardo shares may have been done through one or more companies or a venture capital group. Rossi suggests it is a single company that has a business presence that might be narrowed down by revealing which state the factory will be located in. I think East Coast is probable. The size of the deal would have to be pretty large if Rossi has a convincing demo. I'd say the market cap of a business buying Leonardo would have a market cap over 5B and is probably a Fortune 1000 (or Global 500) company. My guess is Energy sector, other than oil... or aerospace... GE? LMT, SI... Interesting to speculate how a company like GOOG or AAPL could make a go of it. - Brad
Re: [Vo]:To Spark or Not to Spark
I agree that more people should be working on some type of crowd-sourced building. A small lab to get started can be built for under $2000. Except for the hydrogen, everything can be purchased from the internet. (The hydrogen can be obtained through a local welding shop, although they should ask a number of safety questions that you should be prepared to answer.) I have extra 10 gram samples of nickel nano powder available to anyone with a reactor that can use it. For temperature logging, I'd recommend standardizing on the PICO USB TC-08. It is fairly priced, includes free software, and its what DGT uses. (Unless or until Bastian makes his BeagleBone system available!) I wasted too much time on labview and a custom app to record temps and times.. Keep it simple.. I also have some extra 1/2 NPT type-K thermocouples (stainless) that I'd sell at cost.. - Brad

Re: [Vo]:defkalion eyewitness
This line from Woomera strikes me both interesting and odd: I was told that they were trying to actually see what happens in their device with some glass with a melting point of 1500degc. They saw it light up like the sun and then it melted the glass. This just took a second or two. If the reaction lights up like the sun, that bit of knowledge would make it much easier to replicate.. seems like a trade secret. Secondly, why would the glass melt if the reaction is not supposed to melt the nickel? There is a video on youtube that shows how resistant silica glass is to thermal shock... so not sure what to think. For replicators this company makes high pressure silica (1600C) and sapphire (2400C) glass windows that would screw onto a pipe thread.. http://www.rayotek.com/tech-specs/sight-windows.htm - Brad p.s. [Vo]:Spark plugs... thoughts and how-to?
Hi Vortex, I'm thinking of dusting off my experiments. My LabJack is fixed (Thanks LabJack guys) and I have some nickel alloy powder I am anxious to try. And I can add a spark plug easily. DGT said they can trigger the reaction on demand. It sure seems like their trigger is a single spark or a burst of sparks. Thoughts? Can anyone recommend a way to create a single or continuous sparks with a spark plug using off-the-shelf parts? I have a simple frequency generator (sine/sqr/tri waves) that I can use, which I could hook to an SCR and send voltage to a coil. But I'd rather use off the shelf... but a circuit diagram might work too. Or, could I use something like a strobe light kit that uses a plug instead of a flashtube? Rossi's original big blue voltage box.. Could it be putting out high voltage to spark the Auxiliary device? I can't find a close-up of the blue box (inside or back) to see if anything looks like a coil. An early reactor picture here http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dadS9almTsE/TaQl3jSqzcI/Ai0/KcVR26eDkt0/s1600/e-cats1.jpg has something off-the-shelf that might be a thermocouple or heater.. but does not look like a spark plug. However, requiring two heaters always seemed a little odd... My reactor has the nickel powders in a test tube within the reactor and external band heater. I can't imagine the sparks would need to come in contact with the nickel powder. Thoughts? Looking for volunteers.. :) - Brad
Re: [Vo]:Cold Fusion generated helium
In other words, Rossi says: Yes, it is rude of you to ask. One might think that confirming low-energy nuclear transmutations, even with an experiment as simple as carbon in the microwave, could get enough resources to do an X-Ray Fluorescence or mass spectrometry test. But the US federal government has spent nearly $70 billion on “climate change activities since 2008. (Oops, was that politics?) - Brad

Thanks Jojo.. Are you currently testing Ni+H2+heat+pressure+sparks? Can you give us an update on your experiments (or do you have a web site/blog?) Colin: Using a spark plug as a high pressure electric pass-through is possible, but seems like a hack that wouldn't be used except in a crude prototype. I am hoping DGT is beyond that. Re: [Vo]:Nano dust fusion
Jojo, It seems like one should do the trick--DGT seemed to be just jolting their experiment to get an increased output--perhaps just to disassociate the H2. But.. One big missing data point is from you: what have you tried, what has worked, and what hasn't. I think once we get a reproducible NiH LENR project that produces something real, fine tuning it with another spark plug, voltage, pressure, heating element, etc. would be much easier. But I think one spark plug should be effective.. as it sure looked like DGT was just sparking their reactor very briefly to get it to heat up. There is an interesting thread on dust fusion on Talk-Polywell: http://www.talk-polywell.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=3531postdays=0postorder=ascstart=0 Seems to me an easy way to replicate the transmutation of elements using low power. Specifically, it reminds me of the 2 spark plugs on both ends. I have been pondering a lot on how DGT might be using the 2 spark plugs. It seems to me that 2 spark plug arranged in that fashion would be insufficient to ionize a substantial amount of carbon nanopowders (Assuming DGT uses nanocarbon like Egely.) I am also at a lost in understanding how it can help create some mixing. I wonder if DGT is using the spark plugs to cause oscillations within the chamber like I first originally speculated although it seems to me that the power levels imparted by the spark plugs would be too small for such a task, the reactor chamber being huge. In my spark reactor, my volumes are small and I take advantage of thermosiphon so I can concieve of a way to create turbulence with a single spark plug. What are your thought on my comments above? Am I correct in assuming that turbulence inside the reactor is important? It seems that Egely is going for oscillations rather than turbulence. How does one create carbon nanopowder plasma on such a large reactor chamber volume like DGT's reactor? It appears to me that 2 spark plugs are too small for the task. Any thoughts you may have is appreciated. His process is an unusual one. The essential ingredients are dusty plasma made from nano‐size carbon particles and air and some water vapor. In its simplest version the process works at atmospheric pressure, and at modest temperatures at 1000 – 3000 º C. I would like to offer some suggestions for improvement that are inspired by the work of Rossi, DGT, and Chan et al. First, lose those hollow quarts balls and the microwave in preference to a spark plug. The plug is more robust and reliable. It will pump many more electrons into the plasma due to its high operational voltage then will a microwave. Second, add zirconium carbide nano-powder to the dust; the use of this metal will provide more charge concentration potential to the plasma. The use of zirconium carbide with a work function of 3.38 and a very high melting temperature of 3532 °C will thermalize the gamma radiation associated with the nuclear reactions of LENR by using a coherent proton surface charge. I love carbide of a transition metals because of their high melting temperature and their compatibity with carbon powder. Together with carbon, a very hot plasma temperature will increase operational reactor hydrogen envelope temperatures to the highest turbo generation efficiencies possible. Third, replace the air with a high pressure hydrogen envelope with the highest pressure possible. Some of my reactions to important parts of Dr. George Egely narrative: On page 6: My theory of cold fusion centers on charge concentration as the primary mechanism for shilding the coulumb barrier. In support of this concept from Dr, Egely’s text as follows: Here the more or less familiar rules of quantum mechanics or Q.E.D. rule. In our opinion, strong interaction and “classical” fusion start to dominate the process above a certain power density in the middle layer. Sparking is visible on slow motion films. Obviously, the amplitude of oscillation also depends on the plasma radius, pressure, and temperature. At the center of the plasma, the amplitudes should be much higher than

A quick followup on spark plugs.. I think I found what I was looking for.. A small, cheap, and simple spark gap igniter that takes 5V and produces 1/2 sparks. Less than $20 shipped. http://www.sparkfun.com/products/11218 Skip to 10:45 on the video to see it working. Would be strong enough to drive two spark plugs.. Thoughts? - Brad

Re: [Vo]:OT: Wisconsin will chose their governor in less than 24 hours
Despite the high anti-incumbent sentiment in the U.S., Scott Walker should easily win this election. (http://www.intrade.com/ has Walker winning at +90%) The reason Walker has support is simple: The unions tried to bully their way into the governor's office using a recall vote that is usually used only for malfeasance or misconduct. Most gubernatorial recall attempts fail. And people generally prefer tea party ideals over unions. (Unless you happen to be in a union, eh Steven?) Perhaps back on topic: What if we could get a real money wager on LENR+... Say, the demonstration of 1kW electricity continuous using unconventional LENR fuel by 2015. traded on an anonymous system like intrade. That might be the surest and most accurate way to get a read on the current state of commercial LENR. And interesting the effect it would have on energy stocks. - Brad Why don't you use vortex-b for this stuff?

Re: [Vo]:New private E-Cat test with no input energy
I hear the all we can do is wait until October a lot. If just a few people were working on replication, we could get details a lot sooner than October/November... Rossi is very kind to answer questions on his blog. I've asked a number of questions trying to learn about what is going on and without fail he has responded. (He doesn't respond well to all questions, but polite and sincere ones he is good.) I was the one who asked him if an exploding e-cat would be radioactive and/or poisonous. He said only that there was no risk of explosion. Which makes me think that the secret catalyst is indeed something not totally harmless. A hydride of Li, K, Rb, or Cs is a good conjecture from Mills, Axil, et. al. Anyone have a thought as to which one would be the smartest choice for an E-Cat? - Brad Lowe p.s. Please drop me a message if you're attempting a home-brew e-cat and we can compare notes. Antway, the amount of hydrogen is so small ( 1 gram) that there is not any explosion risk. Good questions. Warm Regards, A.R.
Re: [Vo]:The Annoying Thing About Self-Driving Cars: They Obey the Speed Limit
The speeding problem will be solved by increased enforcement of traffic laws and special lanes for cars that want to drive faster. Automated enforcement will be trivial as new technologies such as toll collection transponders become mandatory. Of course, there may be some reluctance to embrace the technology, as seen in the UK: http://www.speedcam.co.uk/gatso2.htm But special lanes are already here. In California we have some freeways with variable pricing that lets non-carpool drivers drive in faster lanes for a fee. The price changes on how much time a driver can save. But a combination approach could be acceptable too--where people are charged a sliding fee based on how fast they drive over the nominal speed limit. - Brad

Re: [Vo]:defkalion considering to leave Greece (?)
If there are hundreds of investors, there should be hundreds of investigators doing due diligence research on the technology. Due diligence would include talking to experts in the field. Most agents would be willing to share news of the deal in return for quality information from the expert. Q: This group is filled with experts. How many here have been contacted by an agent of a potential investor? (If you want to remain anonymous in your answer, you can email me offline..) Second issue is the lack of leaks. An NDA signed by tens or hundreds of people will be broken. Whether employees, investors, or government types.. I find it difficult to think that a bonafide working technology that could alter the world would remain secret. Yet another question mark.. nobody knows where Rossi goes every day to work on his devices? How about DGT and their factory... any testing lab would be generating a lot of waste heat.. How many cars in the Xanthi factory parking lot. Are they working long hours and weekends? Seems like an investigative reporter could get a nice story with just a little digging.. I know this is a rehash of what we already know.. and we are all tired of waiting.. but maybe PESN or someone can fund a little investigative work.. - Brad

Re: [Vo]:Blather in the mass media makes scientists think we are crazy
There are many questions about Obama's past. It is an indisputable fact that the Long Form Birth Certificate posted on the whitehouse.gov web site manipulated in photoshop. The moron who created the PDF forgot to flatten all of the layers, so that anyone could go in an move important parts of the document around, including the registrar's stamp. What parts of the document are accurate, and why was it altered at all? The state of HI uses a number of weasel words to say he was born here without backing it up with an actual document. A number of explanations are possible-- when Obama was adopted by his Indonesian father, the birth certificate may have been modified or altered, as is often the case with adoptions. The actual BC may have been lost or destroyed. I personally doubt Obama was born in Kenya, but Obama is hiding something, or playing a strange game with millions of taxpayer and campaign dollars. There have been dozens of lawsuits claiming he may be ineligible that could be resolved (perhaps) with the presentation of a birth certificate. All fail due to lack of standing but still require hundreds of hours of court work. A US military doctor had questions and tried to assure himself that Obama was constitutionally eligible to hold office and ended up in Leavenworth... Poor judgement on his part, but again, easily solved had Obama not played hide-and-seek with his records. Of course, Jojo makes a good point that having dual citizenship at birth would make someone ineligible as Natural Born Citizen, which might explain O's reluctance to enter evidence into a court. The constitution was written so that the president could not be a commander from an invading country or have divided loyalties. As this author points out, the biggest question is Obama's story of attending Occidental where he was a self-admitted pot-smoking bad student.. how did he get in? Why does nobody remember him? Who paid for his college? Was he enrolled as a foreigner? What were his grades? http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/obama%E2%80%99s-college-classmate-the-obama-scandal-is-at-columbia/ Jed is not the only one who thinks that anyone who doesn't fawn over Obama is a racist. Let me remind everyone about how most conservatives also didn't like Carter, Clinton, and many were not fond of GW. We are equal opportunity bashers of inept leadership and are quick to eat our own. But Obama does have a long and sordid past with communists (Bill Ayres, Frank Marshal Davis) and was ranked the most liberal Senator. He is aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America and their offshoot, the New Party. This video is interesting, even if only some of the facts presented are true.. (The title is bogus, the tone silly, and it was created by an individual, rather than the media, who failed to vet him...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-HqHSkYG-Y And a related one about the influential father figures in Obama's life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOmzTLdr_m4 According to the odds makers, Obama will win the election easily. According to most polls, Obama is trailing slightly in the swing states. Trying to determine truth from fiction in Obama's narrative should be the job of the press and anyone who is interested in presidential history. But when valid concerns and uncomfortable facts are raised, the press is the first to scream dog whistle racism.. May we live in interesting times... - Brad

The internal space between the two cylinders contains an electrical heating resistance and the reaction chamber with the active material. The cylinder bases are sealed with heat resistant sealant for blast furnace use. Pressure sealing is not needed. The whole has been painted in black to increase emissivity and can withstand 1200 °C. The photo shows a phase of the measurements At the time of this photo, the average outer surface temperature was 801 °C, with local hot spots of 873 °C. The inner surface temperature ranged from 1100 °C to over 1200 °C. Two electrical heating resistances in parallel (the 4 visible cables). Value of the resistances in parallel: 6 Ohm. AC (50 Hz) input voltage of 147 Volts. Current consumption 24.25 Ampere. Power consumption 3.56 kW. Heat power irradiated by both inner and outer walls, assumed equal for a total of 13.39 kW, including the average ambient temperature of 35 °C. Inner wall of bright white color, unapproachable under 1 meter of distance because of hot air flow. Outer wall measured by thermal camera with 2% measurement precision. Inner wall measurement by laser thermometer from a 1.2 meter distance by the shaky hand of a person who didn't want to get cooked. Conservative, rounded down values due to heat taken off by convective flow estimated to be at least 8% on the outer wall and low irradiation cosine for the inner wall due to high irradiation angle toward laser thermometer (pointing almost in axis with the inner cylinder). Stable reaction, without strange happenings. Virtually boring. COP raises when 1000 °C are exceeded on the outer wall. [Fuel] consumption is that of a [nuclear] fusion reaction, that is, almost nonexistent. A proper estimate would require to turn the thing on and then taking a very long vacation before verifying the actual consumption. For the sake of completeness, it should be noted that data are preliminary and that inner cylinder measurements will have to be remade with less shaky methods than a laser thermometer, in order to improve results as it's a delicate measurement, since the inner surface is in contact with the air heated by the surface itself. * * * Cheers, S.A.
Re: [Vo]:The secret colonel of 1MW powerplant is the leaker of the 1000C photo
This is the google translation... I think this is terrible news.. Since Fioravanti certified the 1MW tests and they are known acquaintences. Dear Dr. Rossi I've gotten to know in 1975 (roughly the past years because there are many). I came to Petroldragon Boffa presented by Professor of the Polytechnic of Turin because I had plans to develop research on electrostatic filters for industrial use. That his company was building. There were ready to export to France. I remember he was very courteous and gave me a box of drawings and publications on the subject. During the visit I did visit the plant for the extraction of oil from waste. If memory serves me was the open and close there was a large quantity of used tires for recycling. I spoke with enthusiasm of the results obtained. When, in later years that followed the events related by the newspapers, I derived the impression that it was being squeezed by filibusters of various kinds because I remember well the enthusiasm so evident and sincere It was a surprise to discover that he managed to recover and become the focal point of an energy revolution. All the varied world of cold fusion is back in motion the hunt for prey. I guess the organizational problems for the construction of demonstrators from a MW, but between now and November months are many and the approval of the patent will surely artificial obstacles not to mention that in the future to defend against illegal copying of the product will be problematic. Have you ever considered the possibility of a joint venture with a state of muscular enough to defend the invention by means of weight (international agreements between States, for example)? 2012/8/11 Daniel Rocha danieldi...@gmail.com The secret colonel tells his story with Rossi here: http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=360cpage=19#comment-41129 Gentile Dott. [Vo]:Open Source Papp Update
Hi Vortex, Some updates on Papp development.. Which most of you know is a noble gas that is charged (by RF/spark) and drives a piston with an unexplained (?) force. Harvesting the force and residual energy to produce overunity power remains to be seen. http://peswiki.com/index.php/Talk:Directory:Plasma_Energy_Controls_Plasma_Expansion_Motor An open source Papp Engine based on Bob's design is being built by a 26 yr old whiz named Russ. He has made great progress in just a few weeks-- a cylinder based on Bob's test unit, spark generator, gas system, and more. I'm sure he'll be looking for ideas on how to mix and test noble gas mixtures. http://rwgresearch.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/rwg42985?feature=g-user-u http://www.open-source-energy.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=659 Bob is chiming in with feedback, which is great to see. The forum is at 12 pages and is filled with interesting tidbits. Here is a (self-taught?) Dannel Roberts and his visit to Bob's shop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embeddedv=_zWJNyoFgJM Starting at 22:40 is Robert's theory of how the Papp engine creates a bang... Chuck (a LENR replicator) received his Popper Kit from John. It contains 15 pages of design/build notes and has a signal generator to drive 2 included spark coils. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lFt_q69dxkfeature=plcp Bob Rohner has also produced a few new movies, one warning of the potential dangers of building a popper.. another showing the system running without a coil, dispelling the thought that the coil could be the source of the force, showing that compressed air is not used. http://www.rohnermachine.com/pagedocuments.html https://www.youtube.com/user/bjrohner?feature=g-user-u All very interesting, but a lot of power is going in (300 joules?) so a lot of work, luck, and miracles may still be needed. - Brad

Re: [Vo]:Crowdfunding and cold fusion
Hi Journi, I agree Crowd Funding is intriguing and would work if you just had a few bright people on your team that could demonstrate that they are able to produce results. Unfortunately, we have a lot of brainy people, but not enough people with a laboratory or workshop. I too say look to Russ for an example of open source building of the Papp engine build: http://rwgresearch.com/open-projects/the-papp-noble-gas-engine/ He has a number of things going for him: Honesty, personable, good mechanical skills... and he gets things accomplished. He could kickstart the Papp project or a LENR one. Another possible source is: Take a look also at: http://opensourcenuclearfuel.blogspot.com/ But I do think any LENR builder with a little bit of excess heat needs to come forward and help open source and/or KickStart their project, which is one reason I wanted to reach out to Chan. - Brad On Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 12:13 PM, Jouni Valkonen jounivalko...@gmail.comwrote: Brad, please not in this thread!
