Hi charles,

Oh, that would be a perfectly good reason for the system to slow down
alright. The thing a lot of people don't realize is they go out and
purchase these monster drives like 250 MB or 300 MB, put them in their
machine, and then fill them up with mp3s, games, movies, etc and
wonder why their computer slows down. The reason is the more data on
the drive there is the longer the seek time the operating system takes
to locate or process the data on the drive. The best way to store
large amounts of data and keep your system running at top performence
is to A install a small startup hard drive for your OS and programs,
and B, use a secondary drive for all your personal files, mp3s,
movies, etc which won't effect the over all performance of your host
OS. :D

Anyway, I hope to release MOTA beta 21 soon. I'm taking some personal
time off from the game to rest, attend to other issues, and do a bit
of personal programming for a change. All work and no play makes for a
very dull day.

Cheers!

Hi Hayden,

Oh, there are a couple of nasty ones in beta 20 I didn't discover
until after I released it. For instance, if you alt+tab away from
MOTA, try and do something else like use your favorite chat program,
and alt+tab back to the game it will crash and lock up your system.
I've since fixed that problem, but all the same I'd rather not put
beta 20 back up for that bug alone.

There are a couple of others I've fixed or am working on, but just
because you might not have experienced them the bugs are their. I'd
like to make sure they are completely gone before releasing beta 21
and then begin working on the release candidates.

Level 1 keys

Left arrow key = run left
Right arrow key = run right
Left control key = jump
Left shift key = duck
P key = pause and unpause on all levels except for level 5

Level 1 objective
After you dismount your donkey, you run up the jungle path to the top of
the mountain where Gonk has taken Marge.

Level 1 hints

You will jump farther while you are running.
Duck to avoid the giant bird and to pick up the chainsaw.
You can duck or jump while carrying the chainsaw.

Hi Jim,

Yeah, I figure programming the sloping ramps from Donkey Kong would be
a bit tricky to reproduce. As you recall they move up to the left and
to the right at about a 30 degree angle, and Mario has to run up the
ramps while barrels are constantly rolling down. That requires a bit
of geometry to figure out the angles and then program the game to use
the right physics for the barrels as they roll down torwards Mario.
That seems pretty math intensive for a simple game, but that's the way
it goes sometimes. Who knows, maybe I might take on a project like
that just for fun just to give gamers an idea of what the original DK
was like. It was a very fun game as Awesome Homer is.

Cheers!

Hi Jim,

That would work. It should be mentioned in both places. The reason I
say that is I naturally went for the keyboard commands looking for the
keyboard command to pick up the chainsaw and it wasn't there. It
didn't occure to me to check the hints section, because I didn't want
any spoilers or hints that might give away the game play. When you say
hint that could also be another term for spoiler so my logic was to
avoid it until people said the answer was there. Maybe calling the
sections tips rather than hints might be less confusing.

HI Dark,

I guessit is a matter of how realistic you want the simulation to be.
You ar right there are simpler ways to accomplish the same thing
without resorting to the number chrunching and physics, but I always
attempt to look at it as any other college trained programmer would
rather than from the novis perspective. I don't mean this as an
insult, but the way I personally think. Once trained in college level
math, higher level programming languages, etc its hard for me to go
back and see things the way a novis programmer might given the same
problem to solve. That's why I suggested using a bit of physics to
determine how fast the barrels roll down the ramps based on their
weight and the slope or angle of the ramp, and you might even
calculate friction if you are going in for ultra realism here.

All the same you are right. If a developer doesn't care about the
realism setting a speed and having them roll down the ramps at x speed
without factoring physics is totally possible. In the end I'm pretty
sure the end player won't care because they won't know. This is
probably that programming guru factor at work again. :D

Cheers!

I'm afraid tom my worrying brain now says, why worry about the maths when

That would achieve the same end, namely have differences in landscape
that

dictate how the barrels roll and alter the timing required of the player,
but not actually require any mucking about with physics, just alteration
of

the time of the barrels in specific level areas accordingly, maybe with a
sound to differentiate them, like a metal floor to the ramps instead of a
wooden floor for the ldges ;d.

Beware the grue!

How good are you at untying knots? I hope you're good at it so you won't be
tied up for too long. (grin) I can wait, though, because I have to get an
additional hard drive. Mine is now 91 percent full. I'd say that's sort of
dangerous, given the fact that it's a 250 Gig drive? I wonder if this is
why my PC that I bought in the year 2000 is slowing down a bit?

Re: [Audyssey] MTGames and Kevin A Games present... Easter Quest

2011-07-26 Thread shaun everiss

yeah.
I tried your games as well as the stuff from kevina games.
The sounds are topnotch, and the games though simple are quite
adictive and fun.
To have several going including adrians doom and other stuff at once
is real good.
To have it as a first dev as well as kevina games means a load of
extra stuf that really rocks.

At 09:25 a.m. 25/07/2011, you wrote:

Hi all,
I am the owner of MTGames, where I make audio games. This will be my
first true game I and a friend have written. It is called Easter
quest. So without

further delays, let's get into the game!
The goal of this game is to pick up as many eggs for as many points
as you can in the allotted time period. You get 4 minutes, along
with whatever extra
time you may accumulate during the game. There are three types of
eggs, which can increase the strategy of the game, as they are each
worth a different

number of points.
"But wait!" I hear you cry. Isn't that just like super egg hunt? My
answer is not quite. There is no way for an enemy to attack you or
anything in this
game, but there is a dog that will try to bury your eggs, making you
lose points, and worse, time. That is one difference. However, I
think the major difference
is that there are multiple types of eggs, as I have already said,
each with their own number of points. Also, instead of having
clocks, the eggs will occasionally
give you extra time. I leave it up to you to decide whether you
think this game is too much like super egg hunt. However my goal was
not to replace super

egg hunt, simply to offer some more options and flavor.
Now, to where you can get it. You can get this game at the games page:
http://mtgames.org/games/.
If you want a direct link for some reason, that link would be:
http://mtgames.org/games/easter_setup.exe.
I hope you all enjoy this game and stick along with me in the years
to come, as I develop even more audio games. Hang on, it'll be an
interesting ride.

Sincerely yours,
Michael Taboada, MTGames.

I'm just curious: is it more difficult to get certain eggs? I would think

Re: [Audyssey] any good space games out there?

2011-07-26 Thread dark
Unification wars and it's sister projects looked rather good, there's an
audiogames.net entry.

The thing that appealed to me there was that you had a story and missions
such as discovering alien ruins to do as you built your empire.

I must admit I got a litle narked at the pvp there, sinse even though I was
more interested in building my empire to complete the missions people just
attacked me so constantly that I could barely advanced (I completed the
tutorial but what it gave me was totally inadequate), but maybe you'll have
better luck.

there is also aterean, which has the virtue of being imho the least complex
and easiest to pick up space games, ddespite a rather complex tech tree and
very free range ship building.

Personally though, I just have never found a space game other than ce which
satisfied my desire to explore rather than fight other people, and yes, i
should get back to ce myself.

Alter Aeon is at it again with a new set of expansions! We've done a
pretty thorough rework and update of the thief class, with two

Major additions include:

- Updates to the poison brewing and handling skill tree, with the new
abilities to poison food and corpses, reduce antidotes, and brew
advanced poisons with special effects

- A complete new skill tree has been added for shadow skills, with new
skills to aid in stealth, combat, and transport

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Frustrated with Level 1 of Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread dark

Hi tom.

I was simply going on the basis that in audio, your obviously not going to
see much of the actual barrel movement, just have to recalculate as your
character gets to the ramps, and if this is all the player will have to do,
why worry about the rest when simply a bit of extra sspeed would do as well?

i suppose I am just naturally lazy, even when thinking out game programming
problems ;D.

Look at something like judgement day. liam could've added air resistance,
vectors of flight, falling wreckage, damaged vehicles, heck, realistically
I'm not even sure if you could! take out 30 hellicopters and planes by
shooting a machine gun into the air, but obviously sinse it was an arcade
game hhe just stuck to space invaders point and shoot sinse that was what he
was aiming for, ha ha.

That's my point about donkey kong, but again, as you said it's again
probably a case of thinking of things from the perspective of a programmer
actually creating a virtual environment, and of a player who only gets to
experience that environment through the medium of whatever actions they can
perform in a game.

[Audyssey] MTGames and Kevin A Games present... Easter Quest

2011-07-26 Thread Michael Taboada (AI5HF)
Hi all,
I am the owner of MTGames, where I make audio games. This will be my first true
game I and a friend have written. It is called Easter quest. So without
further delays, let's get into the game!
The goal of this game is to pick up as many eggs for as many points as you can
in the allotted time period. You get 4 minutes, along with whatever extra
time you may accumulate during the game. There are three types of eggs, which
can increase the strategy of the game, as they are each worth a different
number of points.
"But wait!" I hear you cry. Isn't that just like super egg hunt? My answer is
not quite. There is no way for an enemy to attack you or anything in this
game, but there is a dog that will try to bury your eggs, making you lose
points, and worse, time. That is one difference. However, I think the major
difference
is that there are multiple types of eggs, as I have already said, each with
their own number of points. Also, instead of having clocks, the eggs will
occasionally
give you extra time. I leave it up to you to decide whether you think this game
is too much like super egg hunt. However my goal was not to replace super
egg hunt, simply to offer some more options and flavor.
Now, to where you can get it. You can get this game at the games page:
http://mtgames.org/games/.
If you want a direct link for some reason, that link would be:
http://mtgames.org/games/easter_setup.exe.
I hope you all enjoy this game and stick along with me in the years to come, as
I develop even more audio games. Hang on, it'll be an interesting ride.
Sincerely yours,
Michael Taboada, MTGames.

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Frustrated with Level 1 of Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread dark

Hi Tom.

i might take you up on that later actually when I get back to my flat. You
are however right about emulation at least in my experience with Mame and
winuae.

I think some emulators are in process of being updated to work with later
windows (certainly I've heard winuae has been), but I'm not sure about atari
2600 emulators, you might want to check that.

though as I said, some of the retro remakes are pretty awsome, especially
when they get strange and weerd!

for instance, you may or may not have heard of a very well known game on the
Comador 64 called Jet set willy, sequal to manic miner. A hugely difficult
platform game where you wandered around avoiding enemies and collecting
treasure objects.

There are various remakes that I've had fun with, but there is one
particularly weerd and strange one. Multiplayer online Jetset willy!

Same graphics, beepy mod music and very similar gameplay as the original,
but now you connect to people across the net and can play games like who can
find the most treasures, capture the flag, or get to a particular room in
the house in the fastest time.

Sadly not accessible to me due to a lot of text (pluss I was never really
that good at the original anyway), but one of the most intreaguing ideas
I've ever seen, take a game from the very early 80's, keep everything the
same, but add internet multiplayer something which would've been largely
science fiction for home computer users at the time ;D.

then again, this is something several audio games have actually shown a
tendency to do with online scoreboards and such.

Beware the grue!

didn't put the unstable setupfile for beta 20 back on the website.
Beta 20 had too many bugs and problems to be declared a stable

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Frustrated with Level 1 of Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread Thomas Ward

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Frustrated with Level 1 of Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Dark,

That works. If you want any help with Atari emulation let me know as I
have something on par with 200 Atari games on the family PC that my
wife and son like playing from time to time. I have everything from
original 1978 Asteroids to Sega's original version of Zaxon I'd be
very surprised if I don't have original donkey Kong in my collection,
but its been ages since I took a very close look at what I actually do
have. . At some point I have too many games to keep track of. Lol!

As for retro remakes I agree. When and where possible it is always a
bit helpful to find a good retro remake created specifically for
todays machines as running games through emulators doesn't always work
as they should. I've had NES, Atari, and Sega roms lock up on Windows
7, and it irritates me to no end that the same game and emulator
worked just fine on say Windows XP. Emulation certainly isn't
perfect, and creating version specific ports is the best solution for
the problem.

Cheers!

2011-07-26 Thread dark
I'm afraid tom my worrying brain now says, why worry about the maths when
you can just have a section of ground reached by mario where the barrels'
movement is different?

That would achieve the same end, namely have differences in landscape that
dictate how the barrels roll and alter the timing required of the player,
but not actually require any mucking about with physics, just alteration of
the time of the barrels in specific level areas accordingly, maybe with a
sound to differentiate them, like a metal floor to the ramps instead of a
wooden floor for the ldges ;d.

Re: [Audyssey] Getting the Chainsaw in Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread Thomas Ward

Cheers!

Hi Sid,

The below can be read in the game instructions, but I did not include them
as a text file as I should have.

Trucker Instructions : Trucker is a program which simulates the problems
facing a long-haul truck driver.
Ideally, you can make a good living hauling freight coast-to-coast without
exceeding the legal load limit.
If all goes well, you can obey speed limits and stop each night for eight
hours sleep and still make the time schedule.

On a good trip you will be able to earn well over $1,000.00.
However, even the best driver's run into occasional streaks of bad luck
and may barely break even.
Bad weather, road conditions or a flat tire can place you behind schedule
and eat up your profits.
You may try to increase your profits by skimping on sleep, driving fast,
or carrying an overweight load.
However, pushing too hard raises the risk of a traffic accident, and you
will be fined if you are caught breaking the law.

Your Truck:
You are driving an 18-wheel tractor-trailer combination that can hold
50,000 pounds of cargo (10,000 pounds more than the legal limit).
You are buying your truck through a bank loan that requires a payment of
$1,995.00 per month, or $85.00 for each working day.

This amount includes reserves for taxes and insurance.
Your truck has a 200-gallon fuel tank and gets 4.5 miles per gallon of
diesel fuel.
Your mileage decreases when you drive faster or slower than 55 miles per
hour.
Your fuel gauge is accurate to within five gallons and your speedometer is
accurate to within three miles per hour.

Accidents:
It is extremely unlikely that you will be involved in a traffic accident
in good weather.
The danger increases dramatically if you drive at a excessive rate of
speed, fail to slow down in fog or blizzard, or continue driving after you
have become fatigued.

An exhausted driver speeding through a snow storm is asking for trouble.
There is always the danger of losing time due to a flat tire.
This danger can be reduced by purchasing retreads or more expensive tires
before you start your trip, and by promptly replacing your spare tire
after a flat.

Speeding:
The speed limit is 55 miles per hour unless otherwise posted.
Generally, Smokey will allow some leeway before pulling you over, but the
faster you go the more likely you are to attract his attention.
There are also a couple of places along the way where a radar may be in
operation with strict enforcement.
Whenever you get a traffic ticket, you lose time as you wait to pay your
fine at the Justice of the Peace.
If you receive more than three tickets, you lose your Interstate Commerce
Commissiom driver's license.

Truck Stops:
Every three or four hours you will approach a truck stop.
Each stop will take at least one hour while you get coffee, fuel and a
spare tire if necessary.
The price of diesel fuel and tires will vary unpredictably, but diesel
fuel will average about $1.00 per gallon.

Truck stops are also the only places where you can sleep.
You may choose when to sleep, but, if you attempt to sleep during the day,
you will be disturbed by traffic noise.

Cargo:
You can select from three types of cargo to haul for each trip:
1. U.S. MAIL -This contract will pay $.0475 per pound, or $1,900.00 for a
40,000 pound load on delivery.
2. Freight Forwarding -This contract pays $.05 per pound, or $2,000 for a
load. However, there is a 10% penalty that is subtracted if you are more
than 12 hours late on delivery.
3. Oranges -This contract will pay $.065 per pound of good oranges
delivered to New York, or $2,600 for a standard load.
You are required to run the air-conditioning unit in your trailer in order
to keep the oranges from rotting or freezing.

You will burn seven gallons of fuel per hour while you sleep.
Routes:
You can choose one of three routes:
Northern route:
This route is the shortest, but also the riskiest. You will leave from Los
Angeles on Interstate 15 and drive through Las Vegas and Denver.

You then take I-80 through Nebraska, northern Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The total mileage is 2,710.
You will pay a total of $195.00 in tolls and have one chance in eight of
avoiding weigh stations.
The danger of bad weather is high, and the speed limit is vigorously
enforced.

Middle route:
The middle route follows old Route 66 from Los Angeles through northern
Arizona and Oklahoma into ST.Louis.
Then you cut over to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and follow through to New
York.

The total distance is 2,850 miles.
The toll road portion will cost you $240 in fees.
This route has fewer smokies watching your speed and the weather
conditions are much more favorable than the Northern route.
However, watch the weig

Hi tom.

the Nes classics series is, like the other nes classics games, a direct port
of nes donkey kong for the Gba. i already have a couple of these, namely
castlevania and ice climbers, and have been thinking about getting doctor
marrio, but as I said I was put off donkey kong by the lack of levels, given
it's the same price as a gba game.

As regards emulation, I've always found that a litle hit and miss. i've
emulated stuff that I can't get else where, like the original turrican
series, and used mame to play some of my favourite arcade games like ninja
turtles, original double dragon and simpsons, but haven't done more than
that really.

Atari emulation might be fun though, sinse I do miss playing games like
joust, berzerk and yars' revenge.

Again though, there are some pretty awsome retro remakes out there, and they
have the advantage of being made by fans of the originals to work on todays
machines, which helped a lot (the fan produced mega man games I mentioned
for instance are pretty awsome).

when I get back to my flat and my desktop in september, and thus have a
large enough screen to make it worth while, I'll look around and see what I
can find.

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Frustrated with Level 1 of Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread Thomas Ward

Cheers!

Hi Dark,

Did you just say 4 levels? The Donkey Kong I remember, the Colleco
version I had, I believe had like 10 levels. The version for the
Colleco was a lot better than the Atari version, but yeah you might
want to look for a retro remake of it. Either that you can play the

would make sense.

Hi Darren.

Perhaps it might be worth contacting the admins of the game about the
captures, sinse i've never found a decent capture solution.

The firefox thing only seems to work occasionally, and I tried a thing
called solona which was supposed to send a screenshot of the capture to an
actual human, but that didn't work at all.

Captures are frankly a pain in the neck, and develoeprs should be told this.

The only reasonable solution I've ever seen is the google audio capture
thingy, but even that is heavily dependent upon having a very good pare of
headphones to hear the words successfully.

Btw, does astrowars use captures every log in? or just at account creation.

if just when creating an account, then there may be an easier way around.

It can be found at http://www.astrowars.com

You'll need the Firefox capture plugin to play it as it uses captures for
login. Am not quite sure what to make of the game yet.

If you are traveling on an interstate, say I40 or I15, the speed limit

Re: [Audyssey] win trucker question

Hi Dark,

Yes, in the instructions it says that the speed limit is always 55 unless
otherwise stated.

And yeah, if you just wish to run at the same speed as the last hour, just
press enter.

Back when I drove the speed limit on most interstates was 70 for cars and 65
for trucks. Then for safety and for oil conservation they lowered the speed
limit to 55. In most places in the U. S. it has been raised back up to 65.

BTW I live on State Route 44 just south of the route 44 exit of I90. Which is
just passed the Cleveland exit of I90. In the trucker game there is a speed
trap there. Makes sense since we have a State Highway Patrol station, the
sheriff's department and the local Chardon police.

Hi Jim,

Well, you did a pretty good job of copying the essential game play of
Donkey Kong in Homer level 1, but with some extra twists. Donkey Kong
didn't have birds swooping down to attack you, and in that way Homer
is a bit harder than Donkey Kong level 1. However, you are right. The
chainsaw is more or less like the hammer, and in Donkey Kong there was
no indication when Mario would loose the hammer. It just vanished, and
Mario had to go back to jumping the barrels.

Re: [Audyssey] win trucker question

2011-07-26 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Sid,

The below can be read in the game instructions, but I did not include them as a
text file as I should have.

Trucker Instructions :
Trucker is a program which simulates the problems facing a long-haul truck driver.

Ideally, you can make a good living hauling freight coast-to-coast without
exceeding the legal load limit.
If all goes well, you can obey speed limits and stop each night for eight hours
sleep and still make the time schedule.
On a good trip you will be able to earn well over $1,000.00.
However, even the best driver's run into occasional streaks of bad luck and may
barely break even.
Bad weather, road conditions or a flat tire can place you behind schedule and
eat up your profits.
You may try to increase your profits by skimping on sleep, driving fast, or
carrying an overweight load.
However, pushing too hard raises the risk of a traffic accident, and you will
be fined if you are caught breaking the law.
Your Truck:
You are driving an 18-wheel tractor-trailer combination that can hold 50,000
pounds of cargo (10,000 pounds more than the legal limit).
You are buying your truck through a bank loan that requires a payment of
$1,995.00 per month, or $85.00 for each working day.
This amount includes reserves for taxes and insurance.
Your truck has a 200-gallon fuel tank and gets 4.5 miles per gallon of diesel
fuel.
Your mileage decreases when you drive faster or slower than 55 miles per hour.
Your fuel gauge is accurate to within five gallons and your speedometer is
accurate to within three miles per hour.
Accidents:
It is extremely unlikely that you will be involved in a traffic accident in
good weather.
The danger increases dramatically if you drive at a excessive rate of speed,
fail to slow down in fog or blizzard, or continue driving after you have become
fatigued.
An exhausted driver speeding through a snow storm is asking for trouble.
There is always the danger of losing time due to a flat tire.
This danger can be reduced by purchasing retreads or more expensive tires
before you start your trip, and by promptly replacing your spare tire after a
flat.
Speeding:
The speed limit is 55 miles per hour unless otherwise posted.
Generally, Smokey will allow some leeway before pulling you over, but the
faster you go the more likely you are to attract his attention.
There are also a couple of places along the way where a radar may be in
operation with strict enforcement.
Whenever you get a traffic ticket, you lose time as you wait to pay your fine
at the Justice of the Peace.
If you receive more than three tickets, you lose your Interstate Commerce
Commissiom driver's license.
Truck Stops:
Every three or four hours you will approach a truck stop.
Each stop will take at least one hour while you get coffee, fuel and a spare
tire if necessary.
The price of diesel fuel and tires will vary unpredictably, but diesel fuel
will average about $1.00 per gallon.
Truck stops are also the only places where you can sleep.
You may choose when to sleep, but, if you attempt to sleep during the day, you
will be disturbed by traffic noise.
Cargo:
You can select from three types of cargo to haul for each trip:
1. U.S. MAIL -This contract will pay $.0475 per pound, or $1,900.00 for a
40,000 pound load on delivery.
2. Freight Forwarding -This contract pays $.05 per pound, or $2,000 for a load.
However, there is a 10% penalty that is subtracted if you are more than 12
hours late on delivery.
3. Oranges -This contract will pay $.065 per pound of good oranges delivered to
New York, or $2,600 for a standard load.
You are required to run the air-conditioning unit in your trailer in order to
keep the oranges from rotting or freezing.
The danger of bad weather is high, and the speed limit is vigorously enforced.
Middle route:
The middle route follows old Route 66 from Los Angeles through northern Arizona
and Oklahoma into ST.Louis.
Then you cut over to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and follow through to New York.
The total distance is 2,850 miles.
The toll road portion will cost you $240 in fees.
This route has fewer smokies watching your speed and the weather conditions are
much more favorable than the Northern route.
However, watch the weight in your trailer since there are several truck scales
in operation.
Southern route:
This route takes you from Los Angeles on I-10 through Arizona, New Mexico and
Texas.
You then follow I-20 to Atlanta before heading north to Washington D.C..
The last leg of your journey follows I-95 up the Atlantic coast.

Re: [Audyssey] Getting Frustrated with Level 1 of Awesome Homer

2011-07-26 Thread dark

Hi Tom.

Well that is a point, i might have to look on ebay at some stage sinse I
doubt the nes classics series version will be around anymore.

I just was concerned at paying 25 pounds, or about 40 dollars for a game
with only four levels, when i paid the same price for something like Mega
man zero or Metroid fusion.

Of course this is another thing I'd like the wii for, as nes games on wii
ware are not very expensive at all, but sadly that's a none starter.

I'd probably have to scour ebay now, sinse gba games are not sold anymore.

Hmmm, maybe i'll look around and see if there are any good retroremakes for
pc, sinse people have produced some exceptional ones that very much maintain
original gameplay (I found a really nice series of fan produced classic mega
man very recently).

Beware the grue!

Re: [Audyssey] has anybody tried astro wars?

2011-07-26 Thread darren harris
No the other one I rather like. WebVisum and this is spelled correctly dark
so you can Google it, it works fine. I only mentioned that it was spelled
correctly so as to enable you to go look. On a fast connection you'll have a
capture image ready for you within 30 seconds. You can only do 20 per day
but still that's a good add-on.

I tried solona several times, and the people on the other end got rather
nasty actually, accused me of sending them screenshots with no captures
(very odd sinse they were deffinately there), and threatened to ban me.

I must admit that quite put me off the hole service.

Thanks Haiden.

i've actually always wondered that, especially sinse a lot of American
authors like Steven king attach quite a bit of significance to the I roads,
though in fairness british authors like Niel gayman have done the same with
roads over here, look at the bit about the m 25 in good omens being a
river of evil! ;D.

Solona works great especially if you use the qwitter client.

Captures are frankly a pain in the neck, and develoeprs should be told
this.

The only reasonable solution I've ever seen is the google audio capture
thingy, but even that is heavily dependent upon having a very good pare of
headphones to hear the words successfully.

Btw, does astrowars use captures every log in? or just at account
creation.

It can be found at http://www.astrowars.com

You'll need the Firefox capture plugin to play it as it uses captures for
login. Am not quite sure what to make of the game yet.
