open the image and choose 'select by color' and click on the orange text
and then select the 'replace with FG color' (purple) and the color gets
replaced with gray.
Does any one know why this happens? Am I doing it the wrong way?

I have changed Black White images to Blue White by using:
Tools-Color Tools-Color Balance
and then increasing Blue and, if necessary, decreasing red (increasing cyan).
I would then optionally use Tools-Color Tools-Brightness-Contrast and
adjust brightness.

recompile gtk+ and set CFLAGS='-I/home/strycat/usr/include' to get
that to compile. However gimp does not give any errors but it just
seems to ignore libtiff. Is there some option I can force it to look
for libtiff?
