update problem?
Hi guys, I have noticed after updating to IOS 7. My iPhone4 handset is jumping to loud speaker all the time. Could this Issue be due to the update or something else. IOS 7 and making an appointment
Hi, I amd having trouble adding an appointment to my calendar. I go through the process of entering the event name, date/time, etc. and everything seems fine. I double-tap the done Button and am taken back to the screen that shows the days of the month. However, when I focus on the day I scheduled the appointment for I am told that there are no appointments for that day. What am I doing wrong? Traci, So far anything they have added that I use personally has been perfectly accessible. Note that there are some channels they've added where you have to be subscribed via one of the cable or satellite providers that are on their list. Unfortunately, DirecTv isn't one of them so I can't comment on those additions but I'm willing to bet they are just as accessible. There is no request to accept or decline. You are told when someone follows you and you can choose to follow them back. finding an appointment once entered in the calendar
In the calendar, after you enter an appointment and touch done, go to the left-hand corner and double tap and 2013 will come up. I either swipe to look for the day at this point or double tap 2013 to go to search and look for the day there. It will say you have an appointment, and double tap to run through the times of day to find the appointment. Maybe someone else has an easier way, and I would welcome the answer too. Hi all, Since I got the moviereading app, I only see the first movie there. Thought they'd add more every week. Am I missing something or did any of you hear anything about this from the developer? Its called StandScan Pro. It works very well. I still think they should charge a little more for it and have it made of a better material. Cardboard is not very durable unless you leave it on the corner of your desk. Other than that, it's a fantastic little device. The official Twitter app isn't being very helpful, but you can change to public tweets by logging into Twitter through the website and going to account settings. Accept following requests before you switch though, or anyone who tried to follow you before will have to follow you again since someone with public tweets can't accept follower requests and they are not automatically accepted when you switch. Booking.com does also work with Passbook and I find this very handy since after I make a booking I can add it to Passbook and when I get to the hotel I can, if necessary, just pull up the booking confirmation. iPhone 5s and 5c sound cracking issue

How to tell the mail app not to include messages when you reply
Is there really no way to tell the mail app on an iPhone or an iPad that you do not wish to include the full message to which you are replying? You can do it on the Mac, but if it's available here on the phone, I'm sure not finding it. Since people with disabilities other than blindness require all fields to be accessible in the tab order, or what you might call the swipe order in thinking about a touchscreen, it would seem, then, that these fields that must be accessed via touch are a giant accessibility fail. The question is of course, who has to do the fixing? Is the problem with Apple? Safari? Or with the sites? Or some of all? I don't know. But this is a problem that will affect other than just blind people. having trouble with finding Greeting and Edit on Voicemail tab
Hello everyone, For those who don't know me my name is Scott. I have an Iphone 5 and I just did a backup/restore through Itunes last wee because I was having trouble finding the Edit and Greetings buttons in the Voicemail tab. What I did is: 1. Go to Phone. 2. Go to Voicemail tab and looked at the upper left and right of the screen for the Edit and Greetings button but VO doesn't seem to announce anything. I also reported this to the accessibility Department of Apple and they are the ones who told me to restore the Iphone. I've had pretty good success with the eye note app so far. I tossed a bill on my bed, didn't do anything to unfold it or press it flat, so it was curling up at the ends, and eyenote recognized it right away with no problems. I don't have any other money recognizing apps to compare it to, but for a free app, I think eye note is a good buy. Hi Raul, I don't know if it is country specific but it was just a preview gift. I automatically assumed that it was across the board since Apple is international but, who knows! Also, I should mention that the notice of the first gift came up in the notifications so I guess it will every day starting the day after Christmas. I won't call it boxing day because that definitely is not international. It is Canadian but not American. Don't remember if it is British. I wasn't impressed with the first gift but, that's just me. Not my taste in music and not Danvers either because he had his paws over his ears and groaning the whole time it was playing. I have to say he much prefers Ioana's classical guitar. Just as an FYI, Safari is an Apple app, so if anything needs to be done in Safari, it would also have to be address by Apple. I'm not familiar with the problem described, but it would be interesting if this problem is also seen using Chrome on the iPhone. In addition to the screen reader, the browser and the site itself, this may also be an issue that needs to be taken up by the various web accessibility organizations who put out specifications and guidelines on developing accessible web sites. I don't see the original question below, but you can get to the settings for eyenote by going into the iPhone's Settings and finding the eyenote app in the list near the bottom. You can toggle having the settings buttons in the eyenote app itself and you can configure how eyenote identifies the bills, e.g. spoken, beeps or vibrations. Hi, Right now on my device I'm using the xfinity connect app which lets you interact with email and voicemails as well as displaying caller ID notifications on your mobile device for their home phone service should you have that with them. I also have used xfinity wi-fi app for finding their wi-fi hot spots. I also have their dvr, tv remote and tv go apps but haven't used them yet as I'm not a huge tv watching person but from exploring them they seem to be accessible with VoiceOver. I hope that helps. It seems as though accessibility in their apps is getting better as time goes on. How do I delete music from my i phone?
Hi listers I have music on my phone that I want to delete. Is there a way to do this without manually having to delete every song? Can I do a full delete on my phone, without going into itunes? It says I have 552 songs on my phone, but I dont, but the names of albums I purchased are still showing up, with a download link beside each song. Hi, I am hoping that you have a fairly current backup either in the cloud or on your computer. I would roll it back to a time in place where Wells Fargo worked for you. I haven't updated and I don't have any problems with the Wells Fargo app on my iPhone4. Is that the only problem you are having regarding accessibility. I thought I had the online toll-free number handy, but I don't. I love Uber and I love the app. You can request a car in the app, it will show you how long it will be before it comes. You can call or text the driver directly which is very handy if you're in a crowd etc. It's the most fabulous car service I've ever used and they've made their app accessible. It was not initially and it does have frequent updates so occasionally it will have minor access issues, but they always fix it right away. I highly recommend trying it. Read all the details about pricing and types of vehicles for your area on their site, because there are possibly various options. but at least with respect to what we discuss here, you can go for it with no problem. I use the Wells Fargo app. Where its accessibility with the latest update is lacking. The app is still usable. With beep is the users sign that a letter/number has been entered. The app also doesn't indicate when the edit field has been selected. So when voiceover says username just double tap and start entering your username. Do the same for entering the password. Hopefully there will be an update soon to fix the accessibility. Hope this explaination made sense and was helpful. Yes, Big Calc Free works very well with VoiceOver on the iPad. It may be because there is an in-app purchase option to use this as a talking calculator that the accessibility is so good. Of course, you don't need to purchase that option. And when I said that you could check the contents of the memory register by simply touching the key for it on the keypad, I meant exactly that: a blind VoiceOver user who starts adding items to the memory register will find that once there are numbers in the memory register its key label on the keypad updates to the register contents, so touching that key now gives the number in that register instead of MR. The only thing is that you need to double or split tap keys to enter numbers. When I initially made a face time call I was asked if I wanted to use email or phone number. Two questions here. It's weird if you have unlabeled buttons. The only unlabeled buttons were under the paper tape section, where the button covers the text area of the subsequent text. So if you ignore the unlabeled button and flick right to the text, you get to exactly the same navigation controls. Are you in landscape or portrait mode? This app is most easily used in Portrait mode. That also means the paper tape area -- which is simply the record you can check or email -- is in a pop up and out of the way of the main calculating area. The way Facetime works is that it associates the device you're using with an Apple ID and then with email addresses and phone numbers. When you make a Facetime call, you give the Apple server an email address to contact, it then reaches out and sees if that address is associated with an Apple ID and if so attempts to initiate a call to devices associated with that ID. That's why someone with an iPad and iPhone or other combination of Apple devices will hear them all ring when receiving Facetime calls. Personally, I don't think the iPad offers anything the iPhone does not in terms of apps. It has a better battery life, and some people prefer the interface that some apps (like Mailor Safari) offer, but that's it. Oh, if you use Mbraille, you can type with your fingers straight across the screen. Low vision users often like the larger screen for viewing magnified images or other low-vision apps, but for a blind person that does not matter. Yes, VDR will decompress it automatically, and a zip file lets it keep all the files that are part of the book together. It is hard to import a folder, so a zip file is the best way to do it. Ester, I downloaded the Big Calculator Free app. All the number buttons work with VO. The equals,plus,minus and other buttons do not work with VO. From the bottom right corner, I hear VO say, equals, plus, hyphen (for the minus sign), divided by. None of these buttons were relabeled. I checked a first generation iPad Mimi running iOS 6.1.2 and a 4th generation iPad (not mine) running iOS 7.0.4. Both iPads installed the app under iOS 6 and were upgraded. Do you have one of the newest model iPads? The only keys I relabeled were for the Memory register M minus because the hyphen wasn't pronounced, and the x squared and x cubed buttons, which had a first label of x and then either a2 or 3 if you flicked again. EXCUSE ME Robert! I take offense of being called a liar I use the Wells Fargo app on most days at least once. Being that I can't see to read the sales receipt, I check my account to make sure that the checkout clerk didn't try anything funny and tell me one thing for my total purchase, but enter something else. To confirm for you that I do use the most up-to-date Wells Fargo app, when you launch the app, swiping from left to right from the top of the screen (I use my iPhone) you will hear Hamburger Menu 36 x 36! If you keep swiping down the screen to you get to enter your online username, double tap, then start entering your username, you should hear the letters being entered followed by a sound if you have keyboard sounds turned on. Trail your finger down the screen til you hear online password, double tap, then start entering your password. You should hear the same as when entering your online username. Maybe you should try uninstalling the app and reinstalling the app. Yes, I will agree the previous version of the app was a bit easier to navigate, but this version can be worked with. I only was saying what it does for me, nothing against you. ,it will not let me enter any information and if i try and then select log in it says the user name and password were not entered please reenter. So, on my end it is broken, if it works for you that is great but for me it does not. Hi all, I also use the WellsFargo app. There is an option in the new updated version that says save username and I think there is one for save password those options need to be either turned off or turned on I find that even though it doesn't make much of a sound when you enter in the information it does take and you can go ahead and get to the entries you need. I am not saying this works for everyone but this has worked for me. It is deceiving because you think that the letters are not going in, but they really do seem to be going where they're supposed to be, because when I go to my login I did get all of my information. Ed, I'm baffled by the unlabeled buttons you're finding. All the keypad buttons for Big Calc Free are spoken by VoiceOver on the two different iPad models I mentioned (iPad Mini first generation and 4th generation iPad). And that has worked under both iOS 6 and iOS 7. If Big Calculator Free is really not working for you, try the paid app VOCalc (that's capital letters V O followed by Calc with a capital C and no spaces in the whole name. The only thing I can't comment on is whether the default color scheme works well for low-vision users. There's an in-app purchase option for Settings Themes that gives you more options for rounding and a money mode that automatically places decimals. This also included large font options for the paper tape and more color themes. I'm going to post about my experiences to my blog soon, but long story short, I just recently gave mine away because for me personally, the iPhone and iPad were redundant.
