What is the best way to migrate complete data and settings from an unreliable 2012 MacBook Air to a still-in-the-box 2018 Mac mini? Both macs have internal 256 GB SSD. There are Time Machine and Super Duper backups. I will be the technical assistant for my brother in law who owns the macs.

Time Machine Daily Summaries

I understand Time Machine combines the hourly data blocks to provide a daily (24 hour) summary with further amalgamation after a month to create weekly backups. How is the “day” defined? Is it local time 0001-2400 hours or some magic Apple time? I’ve been looking closely at the daily summary
