Re: CS>DMSO Safety

2017-01-05 Thread Lena Guyot
Once upon a time, I would have taken this DMSO document seriously, but there
has been so much experience (mine and others') proving otherwise, that I'm glad
I dared to discover its real possibilities in spite of dire industrial
warnings. Yes, it was scary to deliberately include it in my CS drops, but the
CS drops alone hadn't been able to get into the vitreous where the uveitis was
causing trouble and the addition of DMSO carried its benefits where they were
needed.
Just as there are all sorts of writings about the dangers of CS 'turning
people blue', thus scaring and depriving people of an amazing healing tool, I'm
glad I wasn't daunted by the dire warnings about DMSO. I literally have 'skin
in the game' and have benefited from my daring.

I never recommend, but I do share my experience, always with caveat emptor, and
I correspondingly profit by others' experiences, by my own choosing. That's how
these groups have furthered very beneficial solutions to heretofore insoluble
problems.

Be well,
Léna

That would be a *tack* store.  Or a feed store.  Or a farm store.  Bottles of
DMSO will be on the shelves of any of these -- and it's unlikely that anyone
will ask any questions about why you're buying it -- there's nothing illegal
about buying it.

Incidentally -- frequently you'll find roll-on DMSO, and jars of DMSO gel right
alongside the bottles of the liquid.  Both of these products are great for use
on sore, arthritic joints.

Just telling it like it is, Some of these Feed sellers think they are the DMSO

but some do.  I will say that arthritis is slain by DMSO,,,keep reading, in the

Re: CS>DMSO Question

2012-10-11 Thread Lena Guyot
Hi Paul,
I've used this brand. It's good, but pricey for chronic use. I get DMSO from my
local Feed'n'Seed,(for about 1/4 price) then combine with aloe vera gel I get
in a tube at our Natural Food Store.
Glycerine is supposed to be drying, too, but in the original Brooks mix, it was
used to soften the skin and I never noticed it having a drying effect. I made
large bottles of the mix and then decanted them to my small roll-ons. (nice to
have them scattered about for whenever, wherever I need them)
Now, I'm using the 50/50 DMSO and Aloe gel, and that seems to work very well.
More DMSO than that, and the less exposed, more tender skin, like the back of
knee, seems to get itchy and irritated. But we're all different.

Be well,
Léna

Funny you should mention those little cards. When you asked the
question as to what material my lens were made out of, I looked all
over for my cards before answering you. I can still see them in my
mind's eye and could have sworn they were stuck back in my wallet
somewhere but I couldn't find them. I don't know if I have stuck them
somewhere else or.. finally got rid of them. I don't think I would
do that so... I have them tucked away somewhere, I guess.

I couldn't remember whether it mentioned what material the lens is
made out of or what and I tried to find out what material was in
common usage back 15 yrs ago and had no luck. I will keep on looking.
Maybe in my jewelry box?? Just don't know. Life was so simple when
I first got married. We had no junk back then..lol.. Amazing how much

I was given a little card for each eye that states that I have implanted
lenses and also gives details of the size of lens, the mfr, and says
what model they are, even the power of the lenses, and each one has a
serial number. Maybe this is just something other eye surgeons don't
bother with, but I assumed this kind of card has always been given to
everyone who has ever undergone cataract surgeryI carry my cards

MaryAnn,
Dan was referring to an earlier post of mine where I mentioned my concern about
using DMSO because of my implanted replacement eye lenses (cataract surgery).
DMSO dissolves acrylics and my implanted lenses are acrylic...and I've been
unsuccessful in getting a definitive answer about whether DMSO can get through
body tissues to the lenses in sufficient concentration to damage them. The risk
may be vanishingly small, but any risk of having to have the cataract surgery
re-done is a huge concern to me. I'm still not sure I did the right thing to
have it in the first place. And had I realized or considered I would not be
able

It works. I will second that recommendation. I have several zillas around
the house. A 6V lantern battery one (Godzilla) and a couple of smaller
ones using I think it was C batteries (Godrods I think he called them).
You can tape two C batteries together for a 3V minzilla. I like the
minizilla for face stuff. The 6V can cause eye flashes sometimes - which
while apparently not harmful are a bit disturbing.

I think, as with so many things, that what works for one may not work for
all. I am glad you have had no problems with cinnamon. But I did research
this as well as listening to the woman who has cleaned my teeth for 24

too had been using it for some time to make my toothpaste: I stopped and
turned to ginger instead after I heard and verified what cinnamon can do to
gums -- also checked that ginger is safe with both the tech and my own
research.

At least, knowing about this, if you should ever have painful gums, Bob, you
now know what to drop.

Hmmm, Since my cataract surgery (acrylic lens implants--DMSO dissolves
some or all acrylics--I cannot find out what kind of acrylic my implants
are made of) I have avoided using DMSO at even very low
concentrationsbut this may be worth the risk. Mostly plain CS
used as mouthwash after brushing keeps my exposed tooth roots from being
too sensitive. However I have one spot that remains excruciating. Can
barely even floss it. I've been thinking about having that tooth pulled
to tell the truth.

I'd be extremely interested to know how long the desensitization from
the single application lasts.

Bob,

The topic of this thread is sensitive gums and then tea tree oil.

I think, as with so many things, that what works for one may not work for
all. I am glad you have had no problems with cinnamon. But I did research
this as well as listening to the woman who has cleaned my teeth for 24
years, and what I found confirmed a common issue with cinnamon and gums. I
too had been using it for some time to make my toothpaste: I stopped and
turned to ginger instead after I heard and verified what cinnamon can do to
gums -- also checked that ginger is safe with both the tech and my own
research.

At least, knowing about this, if you should ever have painful gums, Bob,
you now know what to drop.

Sodium Laurel Sulphate should be avoided like the plague!

There should also be warnings on the toothpastes that use cinnamon to flavor
the toothpaste (according to the woman who cleans my teeth). Ginger, she
said, is fine; cinnamon is not. I don't remember what she said it does to
the teeth, but she chastised one of the reps from a toothpaste company about
bringing them toothpaste with cinnamon, and he said well, that is what
people like. She went right back and told him that the company needs to not
use stuff that can harm the teeth.

In one article, the Journal of the American Dental Association says that
cinnamon can sensitize and irritate the mouth and is highly caustic when
applied directly to our gums. Cinnamon irritates mucus membranes and the
mouth is a mucous membrane. It can cause inflammation in the mouth even
while killing bacteria in the mouth.

A large number of in vitro studies have reported on the enhanced killing
of bacteria using various dyes in combination with low level lasers. The
most frequently used dye has been toluidine blue (TBO) and some of the
microorganisms studied are streptococcus mutans (20) and staphylococcus
aureus (21). The bactericidal effect of TBO is enhanced by low level
laser light and the clinical implications of this combination in
cariology and periodontology are indeed promising. Low level laser has
also been shown to enhance the release of fluoride from lacquers (22)
and resin cements (23).

indocyanine green is what brings a quick end to the harmful invaders. Or
more specifically, what happens to the dye when it's activated by a
near-infrared laser.

The effect is similar to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's cancer
killing nanoparticle treatment. When a laser, in this case a 500mW
gallium-aluminum-arsenide near-infrared laser projecting at 808nm
wavelength, is shined at a photosensitizer, the indocyanine green, it
creates free radicals known as reactive oxygen species. These free
radicals destroy bacteria by disrupting numerous parts of their physiology.

Iodine? I know about the effect of the Tea Tree and Sensadyne is from direct
experience. It even took care of an impacted tooth.. swelling went down, and
tooth was fine. Perhaps someone knows of another essential oil that could be
substituted??? Clove oil?

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/17/remedies-clove-oil-for-tooth-pain/
Maybe someone on this list can speak authoritatively on essential oils? (I
haven't gotten beyond Tea Tree yet)

Anyway, I think maybe Colloidal Silver? mixed with DMSO? There is a CS list
hosted at http://silverlist.org/ The silver will kill off infection.

AFter the surgeons cut my husband from ribs to navel, he came home with the
incision starting to send red tendrils from the cut. The doctors gave us a
Silver ointment to use. Between it, Tea Tree and Vit E, the incision healed
without a problem (didn't know about Iodine at the time)

Hopefully, you don't smoke as the DMSO will transfer nicotine deeper into the
lungs and into the bloodstream possibly causing an overdose of nicotine from

What is an acceptable ratio by volume of DMSO and EIS when used with nebulizer?

I nebulized the 50PPM EIS I made, and I got some mild feelings of herx

Hi Gayla, I'm don't know why the color would change...I mix the Brooks Mix

I once got a drop of 99.7% DMSO on the top of a plastic scale and it ate it,
I'd say be careful what you use. The bottle the DMSO came in is HDPE #2

Heck, the brand DMSO I use, which is the stuff sold by Jeffers Equine,
etc, plain white bottle with blue printing, I once kept a bottle for 16
years with no deterioration to the bottle at all. That was when I was
too scared to actually use the stuff, and when I did decide to try it, I
did discard it and get new, but the bottle was perfectly intact, LOL.

Re: CS>DMSO and nebulized CS

2011-02-01 Thread David AuBuchon
Rats...this confuses me more. Sounds like Brooks is implying that
people have done nebulized CS when peroxide is added to it? Is that
compatible with the other additions of DMSO and MSM?

The peroxide my doc gave me I think was only 0.0375%. Brooks implies
people nebulize with concentration even more than 2% added to CS?

Sounds like there is a long road to slowly work up through if you want
to take nebulizers to the max. First CS, then adding peroxide, then
adding DMSO, then adding MSM, then taking cayenne, then using brooks'
fancy nebulizer. It could take a long time to slowly increase through
all that, but I may have to for myself someday. In addition to my
friend, I know my lungs are infected with something as part of my
chronic lyme. I don't have any response to that very low percentage
peroxide or to 10ppm CS.

Re: CS>DMSO and nebulized CS

2011-02-01 Thread David Snowdon
I'd be very cautious when nebulizing DMSO on a smoker. It could release
a lot
of the stored poisons coating the lungs from smoking. Below is a message
from Brooks

Bradley:

Date: Tue, 17 Apr 2001 21:34:54 -0500
From: BROOKS BRADLEY
Subject: Re: CS>Caution using H2O2/CS Inhalation Therapy

To all interested listmembers:

I have followed the recxent postings relative to incorporating H202 into
the pulmonary system protocol involving nebulization. After inquiring
from some of our staff involved in some of our evaluations several years
ago ... I am informed that CAUTION is the watchword when dealing with
unknown pathogenic parameters.

I am informed that pronounced adverse reactions occurred in some of our
animal evaluations. The problem was determined to be based upon the
nature/condition of the biological terrain of the lungs --- AT THE TIME
OF INHALATION. It seems that, although, the air sacs are superficially
exposed to atmospheric 02 on every inhalation (excepting those
compromised by anerobic pathogens insulated from this high O2 gas (air)
... there exists a circumstance presenting serious challenges to the
UNREGULATED exposure to H202.

The systemic challenge can manifest if sufficient volume of the H202
mist comes into sudden...direct contact with ANY sizeable anerobic
population If there is a sizeable population of anerobes present
---WHICH PRESENT IMMEDIATE ACCESSIBLITY to the incoming H202 mist ...
the possibility exists that the foaming action could be great enough to
generate SERIOUS consequences.

This possibility rises by an order of magnitude if DMSO is involved in
the protocol. Our staff confirmed this through animal experiments.
Adverse reactions were encountered in some cases involving H202
concentrations as low as 2%. The stabilizing protocol involved 100% 02
at 1.25 atmospheres --- and was instituted at the FIRST signs of
pulmonary distress.

In my opinion, administering CS in combination with H202 --- into an
unknown pathogenic environment involving the lungs --- could be VERY
serious. I am not attempting to be alarmist in this instance; just
pointing out what should be obvious to all deliberate/cautious
researchers. The odds against a serious adverse occurrence are,
probably, higher than its likelihood ... but even long odds are not too
desireable when the breathing system is involved.

If one insists on experimenting with such a protocol, it would appear
prudent to start at or below 0.5% H202. It would, also, be adviseable
to mix a sample of the volunteer's sputum with a generous amount of your
protocol solution and observe for reaction ... prior to inducing
inhalation procedures.

Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.

Black salve can eat a hole in normal skin, but reacts with a cancer

Hi Dianne,
I am using DMSO on a small tumor on my arm and putting soda on top of it and it

Leslie,
What type of tumor is the spot you are doctoring? Is it a fatty cyst or do you
believe it might be cancer? On a fatty cyst I mixed some DMSO with Lugols and
put it on the cyst and they diminished in size. I have some of Tel's black
salve and would use it if I thought malignant. I've misplaced my directions he
sent me with the salve but don't think it takes much to draw it out of the body.

Good luck with what you are doing and hope you get well soon.

Dianne

We bought some for injection purposes from our vet but paid a lot more for it

Lois, may I ask what you take DMSO internally for?  I have not participated in
the group for a long time due to computer.  Still  barely going.  As I
mentioned, I apply externally to a tumor on inside of arm and then pat on
baking soda. Hope it works. It seems to have moved and shrunk slightly; very
slow but still hoping.

Unless it is contaminated it doesn't seem to get much better than 99.9 % pure.
It is made from the inter part of trees left over from a sawmill cuttings and
sawdust. They truck it into a to factory process it in to a solvent. The only
contamination I can think of is if some cross contamination when processing,
and
that would carry whatever is mixed with it deep into tissue. Thats what it
does, goes deep into the tissue, used for many years as a muscle rub on Horses,
and Livestock. It is closely related to MSM only one molecule apart.

DMSO isn't in the pharmacopeia any more than CS is or ever was
..no such thing as pharmaceutical grade DMSO or CS.

99.9% is about as pure as ANYTHING gets and 100% pure isn't likely possible
anywhere for any-thing.

99.9%, not bad for an "industrial solvent" being polluted upon application
to a chemical soup body or dilution with 89% pure distilled water.

Given that DMSO is used as part of the solution for
preservation/transport for organs to be transplanted, I'd be very
surprised if nerve damage is an issue. More likely (--read Stan Jacobs
material!--he's a researcher!) pain relief has to do with changing the
permeability of cell membrane. When you also consider how often it's used
on athletic injuries, I'd be surprised if nerve damage is a factor. Ask
your doc if his info is published or verified anyplace--like sports meds
or vet meds or with cystitis or with transplant technology.

Consider reading the articles at Jacob's site if you haven't read Morton's
book. Then you have a way to judge what DMSO naysayers come up with.

Typical scare tactic crap from the white coated priests. I have been rubbing
DMSO on my right foot for weeks to both relieve pain and accelerate healing.
It was actually not very effective for my severe plantar fasciitis but the
pain sure came back after the DMSO wore off and truth be told it never did
too much to relieve this pain. If this were true then you would end up with
a numb spot.

BTW, Oil of Cloves DID work, and I discovered it is much more potent at
going through the skin and subsequently through the body than DMSO. Only
problem is that the first urination after application was painful, burning
urethra, but that quickly subsided.

Something else- try dissolving the B12 (and other B's) in a little DMSO,
then add that to grape juice, then take that on an empty stomach. Works MUCH
better than transdermal. Same works for Vitamin C too. I've done it by
mixing L-Ascorbic Acid with sodium bicarbonate to make sodium ascorbate and
mixing it with potassium bicarbonate to make potassium ascorbate, then
taking either of those with DMSO and grape juice. It all works.

Re: CS>DMSO killing nerves

2010-10-09 Thread Saralou
Given that DMSO is used as part of the solution for
preservation/transport for organs to be transplanted, I'd be very
surprised if nerve damage is an issue. More likely (--read Stan Jacobs
material!--he's a researcher!) pain relief has to do with changing the
permeability of cell membrane. When you also consider how often it's
used on athletic injuries, I'd be surprised if nerve damage is a factor.
Ask your doc if his info is published or verified anyplace--like sports
meds or vet meds or with cystitis or with transplant technology.

Consider reading the articles at Jacob's site if you haven't read
Morton's book. Then you have a way to judge what DMSO naysayers come up
with.

Formaldehyde is used to preserve body parts in jars, but is also a
natural metabolite of eating healthy foods.

Context counts. About any ordinary thing can be jacked up into doomsday.

When one takes into consideration DMSO is used for preserving frozen human
embryos and frozen transplant organs the boogeyman scare tactics about
it's dangers to the human body fall somewhat flat. Dr. Stanley Jocobs who
has done extensive research on DMSO and it's many benefits has found it
does no damage to any human systems. He in fact takes DMSO as a
preventative measure everyday and has done so for many years without any
damage.

There is no doubt that before one uses DMSO they should research and find
out the proper ways to use it and should use a reliable authority [Dr
Stanley Jacobs] to gain their knowledge from. DMSO is to be respected but
so should CS, Vitamins and certainly any chemical drugs and foods etc. one
puts in or on one's body.

I personally pay very little attention to what the naysayers have to say
about DMSO.

Christopher Scipio's objections seem to fall into the following
arguments:

* Only pharmaceutical grade DMSO (USP) which is 99.9 pure is safe for
use with humans
* Industrial and veternarian grade DMSO which is only 99% pure is impure
and unsafe to use
* There are no studies showing DMSO is effective against herpes
* It is dangerous because the solvent properties of DMSO allows
contaminants to be absorbed through the skin and transported into the
bloodstream.
*On exposure to air it forms a very high and toxic level of peroxides.

Personally, I find nothing alarming in his arguments. Yes, you need to
take care when using DMSO to not contaminate the DMSO or the skin where
the DMSO is applied. Ok, so be careful. I found nothing online regarding
the "formation of very high and toxic level of peroxides". Actually, I
often combine DMSO with hydrogen peroxide so I guess that would not
bother me.

Seems alarmist to me but each to his own.

Has anyone heard of Christopher Scipio? Just that I have just read a
damning indictment of DMSO by him in the treatment of herpes and
wondered if anyone has any knowledge of him--or is he just another
Quackwatch crank? dee

Dee,
I have used DMSO for around 6 or 7 years now, and have never seen any
adverse effects from it.
As to herpes, my husband has put in on cold sores (mixed with CS) and
after a few treatments, he hasn't had an outbreak in years. I have seen
it stop a cold sore on him in 3 days.
Like CS, DMSO is a core item in my self-care medicine chest and I will
not be without it because it is such a valuable adjunct to CS.
