I really miss the vipgameszone titles myself, and yes,would love a way of registering them but like everyone else I have found no way to contact the developer either, even using the old yahoo mailing list.Its a shame that they cant' release a patch for the games as abandonware the way other developers have, especially since I don't think they had any issues working on windows 10.

MUD sound packs for Linux

Hi all. Since I went back to Linux, (trying Ubuntu Mate this time and liking it much more than Fedora, Debian couldn't find Wifi card, even with the "non-free software" ISO and FreeOS wouldn't actually connect to Wifi even though it saw it), I've missed a few of the great sound packs for MUDs we have, especially the Unofficial Squaresoft MUD one. The only ones I know of are for Tintin++, for Kalistee and Alter Aeon, although the Alter Aeon one hasn't been updated in a while.So, do y'all know of any other Tintin sound packs?Another thing that may work is having Mush-Z in Wine, with Mush-reader somehow interfacing with Orca or speech-dispatcher. Is that possible?I know, this is showing just more of how Linux just isn't there for blind folk, but shoot, maybe something can be done.

So, I sent the sister the topic. Now all of that strength is gone, and she wants to do nothing but help her brother. I am telling her that these opinions are before her and I started talking, but it isn't working. So, what do I do now? Her strength is gone, she is starting to get the attitude she needs to fight for freedom, but now she is dead set on caring for her brother.Update, I am working on it. No one is to blame, this was before the sister and I started talking. But goes to show just how careful you need to think about things. A fair ending doesn't always happen, it's life, and her job is not to make this end fair, her responsibility is not to get him help, it's to get her a new family who loves her. It is not my responsibility to get him help either, nor my friend's. Does that mean I don't care at all? No, but it is not my job, it is not within my control. I need to focus on my part of the issue, and I do not expect anyone to know how serious this really is, and can't blame anyone, but this is a situation where safety is more important than a fair outcome, maybe at first it wasn't, and like I said I do not mean to blame anyone for saying or thinking what they did, but now it is at a point that our mindset needs to change. At least in my opinion. Her having the fair ending opinion certainly isn't going to help her, I know that because she was just influenced by it and I'm having to have to snap her out of it.

I'm really not here to attempt to convince you that my opinion is the right or only way, indeed I can clearly see both sides. I'm merely wishing to protect and respect the work of our comparatively few developers.Normally, these matters are better dealt with by a community, a community with many members and contributors who are able to effectively pose solutions. A community with the majority wishing for a positive result. Here, however, I feel we are the minority, with the vast majority standing around in slight aw meanwhile rapidly awaiting new snippets so they can go home and show their less talented brothers how to easily break away from standard forms of protection.I just, fail to see why an easy-to-use application is in the least bit helpful, and I'm honestly saddened to see how long the download has survived without admin intervention. Your not proving anything everyone doesn't already know. All one must do is read the weekly, what language should I choose, topics. When someone undoubtedly brings up BGT and it's countless simplistic benefits, others are most likely around to remind the newbie of antivirus flagging, security risks, and functional limitations. Most everyone is aware of what can be done and has been for a while now. What are you doing by providing a complete application with everything already included? Trying to prove just how easy it can be which has already been known. Trying to provide yet more incentive to switch languages? Either way, the way I happen to see it, during these trying times the risks far outweigh the benefits no matter how you look at it. Armed with only posts before 28, I'd imagine a basic program could be created to mimic your algorithm anyway.As I said above, we're no longer only dealing with sounds, as was proven by myself in no substantial amount of time. Your only making stealing, for lack of a better term, protected assets a trivial matter. Sure public consumption was a certain eventuality, but at least if we were talking underground distribution the net wouldn't have had the chance to be cast over so large an audience. I hadn't felt the need to report your post since admins were supposedly watching over our topic here, but I'm starting to grow concerned since it's been nearly 24 hours.I don't necessarily agree about sound stealers being unable to make anything, good. As you say yourself, coding, game design, and sound design are entirely different ball games. Take the void, which had ripped out and used a good amount of manamon content without permission. Yet people played it. The blood reign, ripped more custom sounds from SBYW or SBP or have your pick of the scrolling battles* games, again without permission. these are only two and I'd be happy to provide more examples if necessary. Most people have heard of and enjoyed at least one out of these two titles.I to would find this conversation intriguing if not for the insane risk factor. It's certainly interesting to talk about code or puzzles we've managed to solve, just as long as there is no chance at harming the reason why we're here in the process.

@ 50, that's what I like about second life, it isn't set in a certain time period, instead it's made up of many worlds, if you wanted to go to Middle Earth, or Narnia, or Westeros, if someone created it, you could go there.I doubt this world would come to half of what second life has, if it even gets created in the first place.We could do all of this now, with text, but text isn't virtual reality or immersive.To be immersive with text, you would need to be a really great writer, something which I'm not, but at least you won't need to worry about 3d audio or the perfect sound effect.Text life, anyone? doesn't really have a nice ring to it.

Ok. I need to say something, and it is going to be said now. Him and his parents are going to a bad place. I dont' know where they will end up going, but they will not be going to a good place. Someone in my gaming group today remarked on a benefit of this app for all players (not just blind). Combined with a pare of airpods or similar, this app can be controled with one hand without looking.  This allows one to use ones other hand for character sheet, or (more importantly) snacking while role playing.

@Siria Great feedback. Thanks. We are already thinking about including a new gesture that will simply re-read the last dice roll. It'd be a new gesture as we don't want to lose the ability to read the formula in case you needed to know what formula you have put together if you were still adding dice.As for being able to know what you rolled die by die, a simple solution would be to select the Individual VO Type. You could then roll 1d20 + 2d6 and, by way of an example, it would speak the answer as "1d20. 17. 2d6. 3. 4." You would easily know from that read that your d20 was 17, and the total of your 2d6 would be 3 + 4, or 7.I hope that helps.

You can't sustain this. It will never work. There are people who use crowd funding and the like to get out of a bad spot, but you can't use it to live off of. What happens when people don't pay anymore and your friends have a lease but no money, then they have legal issues and could get evicted. Crowd funding isn't meant for recurring things. It's meant for a goal, you spread it around to work to try to reach said goal.

Happy March, everyone!  We will be having a general game event this month called the Spring Festival.  It will begin on the evening of Friday, March 15th, run through Saint Patrick's Day weekend, and end after the following weekend on Monday, March 25th.  The event will feature the metarrexi as antagonists, which are plant-based aliens from Diurnus that haven't been seen since the Homecoming event in August of 2017.  This event will have two acts, with the first being available from the start and the second act being introduced on the vernal equinox.  A Death March will be ran on the final night of the event just before everything is shut down.General game additions and improvements from February include:- Hiding players will no longer be exposed by searching players, unless both parties are registered for player-killing.- Successful warrior combos can now daze and stun opponents.- Field of the grasping dead is now more effective against ethereal creatures.- As an unintended side effect of the taste project, a 'pine' taste/scent has be added.- An unnatural spring to be used as a source for the flood spell, thus opening up many more possible places where water spells can be used.Here are some crafting improvements:- Certain pieces of forged jewelry will have reduced stats, leaving them with more open composite when adding gems and inlays.- You can now add gemstones to crafted masks.- Crafted weapons with high quality will have better dierolls.- You can now specify a desired weight when splitting items such as spellcomps, herbs and ores.- If you know lapidary, you can crush ore into powder that can be used in brews. This is especially useful for getting materials of a specific composition for brewing unguents and acids.- You can now use salty-tasting spellcomps as seasoning when cooking, and a few flavor tweaks.We can expect the following upcoming changes in March:- A new necromancer skill called 'soulsmith', which allows necromancers to mount soulstones to jewelry like gemstones.- Spalted woodcrafted items will have a chance to randomize their stats similar to patchwork leather.- Additional options to the various mage elemental focus skills, to allow mages to make on-the-fly changes to spells. @Aaron you still need the game in full screen for the mouseovers to work correctly, plus turning off that "use screen layout when supported" box can still help, though of course just using b for buttons as normal should work. Make sure the game isn't paused by mistake, something that can happen occasionally by accident if your using NvdA space to go to and from focus mode so you can buy stuff, if the game is paused it'll say so at the bottom of the log. Hth.

I think that's why they're called hard starters... and who knows. Every starter has custom moves that they wouldn't normally start with if you caught them. EG pichu starts with thunderbolt, encore and reversal. They seem to have a combination of egg and standard level moves.Also, does anybody know if it'd be possible to basically change the script so that you can in effect have 2 copies of the thing that aim at different files where required? One for the regular game, and the other for crystal clear. I was actually debating somehow making a branch off that works completely for CC, but I'd probably have to figure out how the disassembler actually works.

OK post 59, I think you are just stirring up crap for the hell of it. I am with Turtle here. I can calculate these numbers. Heck, I can calculate 6-digit numbers, but not in the time allowed. It is unrealistic to expect people to be able to calculate 2 or 3 digit numbers like that in that amount of time. Like I said before, if you can do it, excellent. The post is about the, in my opinion, defective scoring system. I am sure we are all impressed you are great at these games. Everyone has different strengths and abilities. I attended a Catholic school for the blind that was and still is centered around God. This education started in pre-school however since my older brothers attended a Catholic school my education started even before pre-school with Bible camps and so on. We were praying and attending monthly mass in pre-school. In Kindergarten we put on plays of the Nativity and had contests to see who could answer the most questions in Religion class. Grades were also given for Religion class and we had tests frequently. In kindergarten and first grade we had these plastic cups and whenever we got a question right we got a bead and the 1 with the most beads won a prize. We were taught that whenever a teacher entered the room we had to stand and say either good morning or good afternoon teacher name and God bless you. Religion was just as importaint of a class as Math, Science, and English. Our days started and ended with prayer and at lunch we said prayer together. We wore strict uniforms and we even spent afternoons singing and learning religious songs. Religion was the structure of my elementary school.

So feel free to call me a hypocrite but this whole situation has changed my view on one thing. Last topic I said that I had put way too much work into that game to just outright stop, but after a lot of thought, I have concluded that I just don't need Mason's bullshit and drama anymore. I tried to go on SBYW today, just a few minutes ago actually, and couldn't seem to build with the same amount of creativity and drive as normal. Now normally I have a very high motavation level on the game. Myself and Redfox created a map in three weeks that was  80k chars in the rawdata. But the main point I am trying to make is that I have come to the realization that I just don't need the building and the game as a whole anymore.  And not trying to sound like a kiss-ass, but IronCross, you were one of the main reasons I came to this, so thank you.

Sometimes I wish Carla were a bit smarter. It is disturbing to see her walk the entire length of the map obliviously taking a pounding from everything she passes as she goes. I just watched her walk through the entirety of a robot's shooting range. Not once did she turn around and fight back. She just walked along taking a pounding until it could no longer hit her. This is why I try to clear out the area around her, leaving her to walk and shoot randomly while I kill things. This is also why I really love that I can now play those levels without her once I've beaten them initially.

@82 don't sit there and call me a liar unless you're willing to put forth proof, I don't appreciate it and am not prepared to tolerate it. Correcting me is one way, you can do that in a tone that doesn't come off like what you displayed. I don't purposefully make up shit, and when I provide information, I check and double check it. Still, it is possible for me to provide misinformation, in which case I would issue an apology and a retraction when someone corrects me. However, even checking just now, his twitter is showing as non-existent. Maybe his masonasons updates is still around, but his personal one doesn't seem to be.

Wow.. This has me properly fired up.. LOL. I can definitely feel where you're coming from, as I'm extremely hotheaded and quick-tempered. Things like this are what drive me up the GODDAMN WALL.. I also don't care about the hole idea of "oh he's been abused so take it easy on him," honestly it's not my place to fix the world's problems, or people's problems, especially if you choose to be a piece of shit and target others. I definitely have my fair share of problems but I don't go around stomping on people to make myself feel better, even though I'm very cynical about most people I know that the world's not *completely* fucked. A situation similar to this actually made me withdraw from being social shortly after I first started high school, because all I wanted to do was fine whoever I felt did wrong and throw them down a flight of cement stairs. As a parent, if this were my kid, I'd call/go into the school and throw an absolute fit, because I know how most school could care less about these things. Maybe possibly even pay a visit to the parent's house. The best thing to do, IMO, surprising too coming from me, is to just try the normal way first, go to the people in charge (parents, principal, cops, etc), and if nothing gets fixed give them hell. And by that I mean media attention. Make them look like the incompetent assholes they would be if they don't handle the situation.

All of the messages in post 1 ar every single one he has sent. So they were not lost, however since I am the main carrier of them, technically I tampered with it. Now onto more news, the friend is now in contact with the sister. She asked the sister if I am allowed to meet and talk with about about it along with my friend. She has agreed. This will definitely help with things, as she is the closest to her brother. I will definitely show her this thread. I do not hide this thread from people, it is becoming very important and is the easiest way to tell this story and get an idea of what people are thinking. So I will add a post when the sister and my friend and I work out a better solution. I am glad she wants to help us, and I am sure she is glad we want to help her, because apparently, he locked his sister out of the house on purpose last night. Oh, and finally I can start giving you information directly from her, so it is much better. I will ask her if she wants this thread to have no more information about her family and other things, and will ask if she would like to contribute. It's up to her.

@post 52 I think the term you is used very loosely. The first thing I learned in school was Braille, then religion, then sharing, feelings, and then maybe math. I hate math and I don't think it belongs in a game however if you must include it have something else. Math sucks just like spelling in my opinion but why argue about it. Well actually, I was trying to figure out a way to do creation like building and things and I actually think that menues would be the way to go. I know it may disrupt the immersion somewhat, but quite honestly I don't really see a way around it unless some of you might have some suggestions. Also, since you don't seem to like the idea of having a cerebral computer implant I was thinking more along the lines of kiosks that you could set up inside of different cities that would let you look for payed tasks to do Etc. I just wonder how star citizen actually handles their mobiglass feature since that's a device that remains with your character at all times and can be used like a futuristic smart phone. I'd love to have some sort of similar device like that in our world. So if any of you guys have suggestions or ideas that I might be able to pull that off, please let me know and bounce them my way.

If you want it to run something in wine you can probably use a batch file that interfaces with some ssh tool for windows, or write a tiny program with minimal python or some other such language that has an ssh library you can get for it. I know autoit has some UDFs for ssh.

Turtlepower, I'm not advocating a light touch. Not at all. When you do bad things, you need to face consequences. I'm totally behind that. Having this boy suffer consequences for his actions is just, in my opinion. I simply believe it's possible to do both. Get him therapy or whatever, and make him extremely well aware that what he was doing will not be tolerated and isn't going to fly anymore. He deserves to get help if that means he can make things right, but that doesn't mean we can all just hand-wave and forget about the shit he's done. There may be ways to explain it, but explanation and excuse are very, very different things. Also, I agree with you regarding someone in therapy wanting to progress in some way before progress is made. Frankly, we don't know this boy nearly well enough to know whether or not he would want to change if things were put to him the right way. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. He deserves that chance, but what he does with it will determine how things proceed.Also, for clarity's sake, I feel like the OP mentioned in another thread that they're high-school age (not over 18), so there's no serious repercussion there from a legal standpoint.I recommend against going public right at this point. Your evidence, thanks to you having the girl delete those messages, is kind of thin on the ground, and you're apt to suffer pretty ridiculous backlash over that (much of it undeserved, I might add). At this point, a lot of what you've got is hearsay, unless other witnesses come forward or unless there's some way to find copies of those messages from elsewhere. You should absolutely still talk to this girl's parents, and to the school, and to the authorities if necessary, but it might be slow, hard going.

Just one thing I've forgotten, of course you need to crack just one sound. Samtupycracker v2 as well as v3 will print out used password, which you can then apply to all other sounds, so number of them doesn't increase time needed to find the password.@Cartertemm: I see your view of point. But that thing is, that even if there are kiddies stealing sounds, they have never produced something nice with them. Because Someone who isn't able to get sounds by other way than stealing them will most likely not be able to produce anything serious. So we would must to be quiet, what would on the other hand give to new programmers a sense of BGT being safe.What can be true, but only in case you use BGT tools in smart way and know, where it is most vulnerable.What I think I have described enough, if someone really thinks about mine previous posts where I was explayining what made the dictionary based attack possible (two facts - informations from memory and known security algorithm), he / she can understand according risks without my explanations about more destructive uses and also prevent them.So it's a hard discussion anyway. As Kyleman already stated, there are pros and cons on both sides.I think the best way is a good licence, that's something I often miss in projects of beginners and I can't understand why they don't include at least some basic eula. When I was beginning with programming, all of my first audiogames contained licence terms. It's true that their most often sounded like: "These licence terms aren't worth reading, please, continue in installation," or "I know you won't read my licence, so why to include it here?" but it was there. Not every site works with it that works fine with youtube-dl.For example, 7Plus, which is one of the tv stations here in australia.I was able to install it just fine using NVDA, no bricking here.The prevent playlist checkbox is now in the options, which I like, because it's now cleaner.There's not really much of a difference, it still crashes for me when I try to download from7Plus, so I still keep youtube-dl around for the times when this thing crashes.Plus, not everyone knows all the commands for youtube-dl.

I created a paypal account and added a savings account, due to the fact that we don't currently have my birth certificate we can't get a state ID which means I can't get a checking account with a card. Paypal won't let me interact with my bank at all, it actually declines it when I try to make a purchase, namely through AT guys. But I know everything about it is valid. I thought they only needed your SSN if you wanted to be a vender. Due to my current circumstances, the still lack of the requirements for a state ID, I can't submit this info to them either, and I'd prefer not to if I can help it. All I wanted to do was buy super egg hunt! Also I thought they were perfectly fine with minors accessing their service so long as the bank lets them, but I'll be 18 in less than a month anyways so that won't be an issue for much longer.

Well, I would be hesitant to go to the authorities too, simply because I went to a school that was extremely unhelpful when it came to these sorts of issues. In fact, in my case, teachers literally saw bullying behavior going on, but did nothing because they were uncomfortable dealing with a blind child themselves. This gave me some serious, persisting issues trusting anyone in a position of authority. I hope for your sake that they aren't like that, because I know a lot of schools try to sweep such things under the rug so that they don't lose state funding. Zero tolerance policies are usually just lip service, particularly if the bully's parents are well-known/well-liked in the community.Having said that, you still have to try, or rather, her parents do. Going up the chain of command is the best way to be heard about anything, so that if it does become necessary to expose this to the media, you'll have that on your side, that you tried to go through all the official channels first.As for the kid getting therapy, let's make one thing clear. While it's noble of you all to believe that he's just a little tragic, and that he can change given time, which he probably could, he still has to want to do it. Therapy can't work unless the person wants to better themselves. I'd say that even a small child receiving play therapy won't make any progress unless they bond with the therapist and see a reason to comply. Can we please not go down the slippery slope of, "abusers abuse because their lives are hard?" There very well may be truth to it, and, let's call a spade a spade here, bullying is a form of abuse, a precursor, if you will, to later domestic violence, but using a soft touch, particularly for kids who have demonstrated actual violent tendencies as this guy has clearly done, isn't the best approach. I think he might need to be scared straight, not by any form of retaliation, but by some form of punishment that sticks.Whatever happens, I hope that this gets resolved in a manner that's suitable for all involved. In my own case, I only received some form of closure when I learned that my old elementary school, where most of the worst of the things that happened to me took place, had been closed down and demolished. The only thing that possibly could have made me happier in that scenario would have been if the place had been burned to the ground, and then the ashes pissed on. I know that's not right of me to think, but when you go through enough shit, and literally no one will help you, you don't tend to forget that in a hurry. I hope that this situation isn't quite so extreme, and that there will be people in your friend's corner to help her not only with stopping this kid, but also the aftermath of such a traumatic event.

If you are to continue using skype and you want a cleaner UI you can try the version from the Microsoft store, I'm personally using that version. It'll send you system notifications, the kind you can view with win+shift+v or win+v for pre-1809, and it does make sounds. Also it has split window view! For fb messenger, I haven't tried that messenger for desktop thing and should probably give it a gander. I've used Miranda NG and it is really well featured. Also to whoever said something about JAWS scripts, Doug Lee at dlee.org is still updating JAWS scripts for skype8 I think, or that might just be skype for business.

If you are to continue using skype and you want a cleaner UI you can try the version from the Microsoft store, I'm personally using that version. It'll send you system notifications, the kind you can view with win+shift+v or win+v for pre-1809, and it oes make sounds. For fb messenger, I haven't tried that messenger for desktop thing and should probably give it a gander. I've used Miranda NG and it is really well featured. Also to whoever said something about JAWS scripts, Doug Lee at dlee.org is still updating JAWS scripts for skype8 I think, or that might just be skype for business.

That’s why kindergartners learn to add and subtract up to 10.  Doesn’t necessarily mean that they learn, but they are introduced to the basic concepts of mathematics,  which is then later built upon to cement and perfect the technique’s. As for the money, I think I would be correct for about 90% of the people when I say that they can calculate how many dollars they owe you, but have a difficult time with change.  However, decimals are not considered basic mathematics. I never said the decimals were basic mathematics, either.  The question is why do you bring that up?

Wow, so many thoughts and ideas. I like Ironcross32's idea. It would most likely save corporations hundreds, thousands, or millions of dollars, depending on what they want to do. They can focus on what they want their game to have while their accessibility team implements the accessibility portion. Most programs that have TTs don't usually reinvent the wheel (some do, but most don't), and instead rely on the operating system to do the heavy lifting, which is exactly what an operating system is good at. Leave the TTs work up to the OS; don't attempt to create your own. You'll probably miss something.On the TTS vs. self-voicing debate, I'd prefer TTs honestly. TTS offers various possibilities that voice acting just doesn't. TTs can keep up with the fast paste action of a game, can be repeated (if added), can be sped up or slowed down, can be altered in pitch, and is ridiculously dynamic. TTS doesn't need thousands of samples just to speak -- those samples are embedded in the speech synthesis engine, and are so small they can be accessed and combined such that no one will notice them as individual components. While it is true that voice acting does add more atmosphere and emotion to a game, it also takes lots of time, lots of money, and hundreds to thousands of man-hours just to get right. Not to mention all the various versions you'd need.

If I have enough knowledge of youtube-dl over command line is there really any reason for me to use this program? I'm used to working with batch files, and I can browse YouTube videos within foobar2000 thanks to the component over here. Does it have all of YoutubeDL's supported sites? Can it use the generic extracter? Does it support more than youtube-dl? Can I control all of it's transcoding options so it doesn't spit out 128k mp3 for everything?

OK, so when talking to devs, talk like a dev, even if you aren't one. This is what I might say if it were me having to explain this.On Windows, you have shared libraries, and redistributable packages. It's very common to bundle such packages in with your installer. After installation; however, the library is registered with the system so that any app or game can use it later down the road. In this same vein, don't re-invent the wheel. Instead, push the console makers for a single solution, a single API or built in screen reader that makes itself available to games upon request. This will allow you to focus on what you do best, creating great games, while your accessibility team takes feedback and implements things specifically needed for the particular game in question. This not only saves space, but saves plenty of work instead.

A lot of times, when drama shows up, even if you two didn't start it, you often pick at it and get yourselves involved in it somehow, and usually annoy people. Not only that 47, but most of us can't calculate 3 digit addition or subtraction in less than half a second. If you can, more power to you. If you can play games at twice the speed, again, awesome for you. Don't attack the rest of us because we don't play the same as you. Mitch, I agree with you about your score limit increases. Some of those I can finish well before the time is up, so allowing for more points would be great.

@47, don't be ridiculous, math isn't the very first thing that's taught in school. If it were, there wouldn't be this huge influx of millennials who can't calculate a tip or figure out how much cash back to give to someone in a retail setting. That has as much to do with the fact that using a calculator is allowed nowadays, when it certainly wasn't when I was growing up, but I digress. I can do basic math, just not that fast. Notice how I didn't demand that the timing for the math games be adjusted, because I'm well aware that there are a lot of people who are better at it than I am, and that's fine. I didn't demand anything, as far as I can tell, I merely made a suggestion to try and balance things out. I thought I made it clear that if that suggestion isn't taken on board, that's totally OK with me. pragma himself said it wasn't a bad idea, as well as pointing out that word games probably wouldn't be doable, for a legitimate reason that I hadn't thought of. In other words, lose the holier than thou attitude, nobody made this topic unpleasant up until this point.

Thanks for the post, I’m not sure there is the need to do a video just showing menus, since I think come the end of the video series,  all menus will have been shown in the various videos. Yes. Not only will it raise awareness about situations like this (since it seems that even people here have gone through something similar) but like I said before, with attention drawn to everything, the school will be a lot more willing to go out of their way to do whatever they can. If people feel comfortable, even leaving comments with what they've experienced could be a big help. On the other hand though, if his name does get thrown into the mix somehow... well... the internet's not a nice place.

As a prerequisite, I enjoy hacking/reverse engineering as much as the next guy. Give me a game and a code puzzle and I'll choose the code puzzle any day of the week without fail. Most every challenge comes with new knowledge to be had and that's what I live for.Yet I think you might be looking at this from the wrong point of view. I personally don't really care if people get my sounds, if they do well good for them, congrats have a cookie. but others mind. It's my belief that since we're such a tight knit community we should do our best to respect the wishes of those who pump out content, in many cases without compensation. I suppose I'm not really a shiny portrayal of my own ideology, since I often find myself hyperfocused on pulling games apart, but I do my best to respect the license if such a thing exists. It just so happens, the majority of audiogames do not. Yet I never, never, under any circumstances, in any way shape or form, deliberately give myself an upper hand. Never once have I ripped unauthorized code or sounds or assets out of a project, going on to use them without consent. Yet were I 11 again and finding such a tool at my fingertips you can bet I probably would have. The only thing stopping me was determination and a crucial understanding of debugging.As of the last uh, maybe 3 years or so, I've noticed a steady increase in people who really wouldn't bat an eyelash at the prospect of disrespecting our work. By this I mean circumventing encryption, difficulty or lack there of aside, and pulling content for use in their own projects. I know this after examining sounds and finding the exact SHA256 file hashes of custom made sounds. when confronted, I got no more than utter denial. I doubt I need to go over the virtually undeniable odds here. Suffice it to say, there are a host of forum members that couldn't care less. It could potentially be a minority or select age group, but regardless these types make themselves heard over everybody else. I have no sympathy for these guys, age included. This is the internet, and it's natural to find ourselves recognizing people for actions and actions alone. I had a small period of time when I was just like this. I was frowned upon with contempt, however, so began to take a look at what I had been doing.I genuinely believe the majority of people here couldn't care less as long as they have games to play. I'm for helping people out, all anyone has to do is ask and I'll do what I can, but that comes at a cost. You just, don't, take advantage of my kindness and time by taking shit for yourself without a backward glance. that's reprehensible, dickish, slimy, whatever creative words you'd like to use. I wish I didn't see it so much, no not just on this forum either. Imagine the world we could create if people weren't so willing to take the easy way out at the cost of others? Wishful thinking I know.So what I'm really meaning to say here, there's a point when a simple PoC turns into happy catering for every less talented scriptkitty on the block, and that's how I see this mindset, unfortunately. In addition to snagging sounds, just took about 3 or so minutes, give or take, turning his script and logic into something more deadly by far. Suffice it to say, I can now get more than sound decryption keys but that's all I'll offer up. Everyone is well aware that BGT can be cracked wide open in other days, this being little more than an alternative. As Kyle pointed out, there are most certainly bigger aspects of the development process. But does that mean we allow the forum to be a medium through which tools are hosted that could give unauthorized access to assets? I quite frankly couldn't care less if you decide to keep these findings to yourself. Letting the world know it's possible with a brief explanation, food for thought so future BGT developers know what they might be getting into, fine as well. But outright posting a one-click solution? I'm surprised there's nothing directly prohibiting such in the rules but I can't remember seeing anything like this in the past.

I know that I wouldn't be able to consider other options if I were in your situation. It would be really hard to talk me out of taking matters into my own hands and getting back at whoever is causing a problem. I flew off the handle when I heard about problems my younger sister was having at her own school, and I was plotting out what I was going to do, refusing to listen to anyone, but I just took a moment. I stepped away from everything, and that time helped me relax. My sister even came up with a genius way to fix the situation herself. You have every right to be furious. I think the meeting is a great way to start things off. Unexpected is ideal, so he doesn't have time to come up with something to protect himself. Any information to confirm what he's done would be very important so it doesn't have to rely on just accusation because the school is likely to take the most passive route.

I doubt I need to go over the virtually undeniable odds here. Suffice it to say, there are a host of forum members that couldn't care less. It could potentially be a minority or select age group, but regardless these types make themselves heard over everybody else. I have no sympathy for these guys, age included. This is the internet, and it's natural to find ourselves recognizing people for actions and actions alone. I had a small period of time when I was just like this. I was frowned upon with contempt, however, so began to take a look at what I had been doing.I genuinely believe the majority of people here couldn't care less as long as they have games to play. I'm for helping people out, all anyone has to do is ask and I'll do what I can, but that comes at a cost. You just, don't, take advantage of my kindness and time by taking shit for yourself without a backward glance. that´s reprehensible, dickish, slimy, whatever creative words you'd like to use. I wish I didn't see it so much, no not just on this forum either. Imagine the world we could create if people weren't so willing to take the easy way out at the cost of others? Wishful thinking I know.So what I'm really meaning to say here, there's a point when a simple PoC turns into happy catering for every less tallanted scriptkitty on the block, and that's how I see this mindset, unfortunately. In addition to snagging sounds, just took about 3 or so minutes, give or take, turning his script and logic into something more deadly by far. Suffice it to say, I can now get more than sound decryption keys but that's all I'll offer up. Everyone is well aware that BGT can be cracked wide open in other days, this being little more than an alternative. As Kyle pointed out, there are most certainly bigger aspects of the development process. But does that mean we allow the forum to be a medium through which tools are hosted that could give unauthorized access to assets? I quite frankly couldn't care less if you decide to keep these findings to yourself. Letting the world know it's possible with a brief explanation, food for thought so future BGT developers know what they might be getting into, fine as well. But outright posting a one-click solution? I'm surprised there's nothing directly prohibiting such in the rules but I can't remember seeing anything like this in the past.

Wow, way to attack someone for having an opinion or thought. I think the chasing ant game is actually pretty easy, but again, that's a matter of opinion. If that's difficult for you, I get it, but I certainly wouldn't attack you for it. Just because one person is great at something doesn't mean someone else is, nor should they be attacked for it.

I'm sorry guys. I am still having fits of rage and sometimes I still wish for solution 3. I know that is wrong, but don't expect me to not wan solution 3 sometimes. I would like to get her, one of her parents, and the principal in a conversation, and send the kid to the conversation as well. That is my vision, anyway. Maybe he hasn't deleted the messages yet. However, the hard part is making the principal understand how important it is to not give the kid opportunity to delete them while being sent. If there is any chance he has them still, we want to maximize keeping that chance. I can also offer my support over facetime in this meeting if necessary. I am not apart of the problem, unless they ask to verify the messages with her phone. At that point, is when I am actually apart of this. Which despite my fears, I may have to step in, I want to if necessary, but it is  scary. So tonight I will talk to her and have her talk to her mom about setting up a meeting with the principal, and stressing the importance of maximizing that chance of getting the messages on his phone assuming they are still there. He can not know about this meeting in advance, it has to be an unexpected moment, where he does not have any chance of deleting the messages
