Hello Sara, just about 1 year ago, I was new to this group because a new cat I
adopted thru my vet turned out to be felv positive. I am lucky, my vet said I
had 2 choices, put her to sleep or keep her and deal with whatever came up. He
also told me that many felv pos. cats live long healthy l
Joyce, yes, you have taken on a bit of a job, but i think you will find it is
worthwhile. i took in Annie 3 weeks after her owner went into hospice. she
was locked up in her trailer all that time with the owner's sister coming once
a day to put out food and change her litter box. she had no
Renee, for the trip to the vet, try Feliway spray. use it in carrier and car.
most vets have it or a petstore. most of the time it works for me. And then,
there is always the one who says No all the way to the vet. You could also use

I have mixed positive and negative cats for years and no negatives have
contracted the disease. They share beds (mine) bowls and boxes. At first when

I am lucky that a member of my church is going to take care of my babies while
I am in the hospital for the surgery. She is also taking me in and picking me
up afterwards. Plus getting groceries and doing any needed laundry after
If onlyeveryone who has a cat or dog would get them spayed/neutered there
would not be so many for us to care for. I have heard all kinds of excuses
like it costs so much. If they did get their pets spayed/neutered they would
not have the work involved in getting rid of them. When a new o
