APRS is absolutely awesome for allowing your friends and family to
check on your progress. A PLB/406Mhz ELT is a FAR better notification
system in case of real trouble. And yes, I will have both in my
aircraft because they serve two very different purposes.

t $450 you can have both.
Very cheap insurance.
The ELT may help if you are incapacitated. The PLB will give pinpoint
accuracy if you are able to activate it. If you ever happen to need
them, you'll thank yourself a thousand times over for spending the money.

badly that not much of the signal will get through, which is why we
don't want to put COMM or NAV antennas inside any carbon fiber structures.

You can buy a kit from EAA for $13 that will walk you through the

not be an issue.
Plenty of advice about this on the EAA website...

be granted the Repairman certificate, he has to pass an "interview" with
the FAA inspector basically showing that he can maintain the airplane in
a safe manner. The EAA has information concerning this on their website.

If you truly do not want to finish it, please consider selling it to
someone as "unairworthy parts" or similar. It would be a shame to see
it destroyed.

I weighed my Subaru installation for my Sportsman by using a set of

There appear to be some KR-2s flying that do meet the LSA
performance specs, and thus can be flown by Sport Pilots.
