What Really Happened In Mumbai?
In my opinion this whole War on Terror is phoney. So every one of these attacks we should be examining closely to try to find the truth about what really happened and why. I think Osama bin Laden died in 2001. He was already seriously ill by that time and there is little convincing evidence he is still alive. What is this Deccan Mujahideen? McCain's Mafia Connections
The mainstream news media has completely ignored in this political campaign John McCain's well known mob connections. Attention has been payed to Senator Obama's casual acquaintance with William Ayers, who once donated $200 to one of his campaigns and who was never convicted of anything. But John McCain was a close friend of a convicted felon and that convicted felon's wealth has propelled McCain's political career for 26 years. That convicted felon was Jim Hensley, McCain's father in law. Upon returning from Vietnam John McCain discovered that his wife and mother of his children had been crippled in a car accident. Never mind that McCain himself was crippled from his time in Vietnam, McCain decided to trade in his 40 year old wife for two 20s. While still married, McCain began dating and having an affair with rich Arizona socialite Cindy Hensley. Jim Hensley had earlier divorced his first wife and married another much younger woman. So McCain met Hensley and they immediately hit it off. McCain has understandably called Hensley a role model. Hensley had largely disinherited the daughter of his first wife and left her out of his will, giving his entire multi-million dollar fortune to Cindy. Hensley had earlier been convicted of federal liquor violations, felonies, in 1948 and received a six month suspended sentence while his brother went to prison for a year for the same thing. And these guys were working for billionaire Kemper Marley, known for his Mafia ties. Kemper Marley controlled all the politicians in Arizona, Republican and Democrat alike. He had had close ties with former Republican Senator Barry Goldwater, and John McCain later took Goldwater's senate seat. Arizona has become the capital of the Mafia in recent years, with literally hundreds of Mafia figures moving to Arizona in and carrying on their illegal activities there. So John McCain divorced his first wife, married Cindy, and mob money has propelled his political career ever since. If you saw the movie Dumb and Dumber starring Jim Carrey you know that was a funny movie about two very dumb guys who don't have a clue about much of anything. But I don't think you would want one of those guys elected president of the United States. Then it wouldn't be so funny. But there's a bumper sticker being sold lately saying Bush McCain - Dumb Dumber and I think it's pretty accurate. I think most of us know by now that George W. Bush ain't the sharpest tack on the bulletin board, but are we going to look back in a couple years to those good old days when we had a relatively smart president? George W. Bush was a C student in high school and college, probably mainly because he partied his way through school and didn't take anything seriously. He earned the nickname the smirk even in school and was president of a fraternity described as much like that in the Animal House movie. But the very similar John McCain was an even worse student in high school and college, and barely graduated from both. D student McCain admitted that Bush had probably done better than him in school. McCain made a comment recently about the Iraq-Pakistan border. Even an eighth grade geography student should know there is no Iraq-Pakistan border. My friends, imagine that you are the employer hiring a CEO for a critically important job to all of us. McCain and Barack Obama are applying. You see on their resumes that McCain graduated 894th out of 899 from college, while Obama was the highest ranked lawyer out of the prestigious Harvard Law School and has been a professor of constitutional law. I've seen (Track Palin) snort cocaine!
The National Enquirer claims to have a source that says about Track Palin, Sarah Palin's 19 year old son, I've seen him snort cocaine, snort and smoke OxyContin, drink booze and smoke weed. It seems kind of odd that a rich kid, son of the governor, is enlisting to go to Iraq where he could get a leg blown off or worse. A family friend also says of Bristol Palin, Bristol was a huge stoner and drinker. It seems that Bristol was banished from home for a time when the hot- headed Sarah found out about her pregnancy. I think that Sarah belongs at home looking after her five children, not mayor, governor or vice president. The Bible says that even to hold the office of deacon in the church you must rule your own house and children well. It says in Titus 2:5 that the aged women should teach the younger women to be keepers at home. Is Sarah Palin Secretly Jewish?
Sarah is a good old Jewish name. If you look closely at her features she looks Jewish. It seems her mother was Jewish. For someone who claims to be a Christian, she hasn't acted like one much throughout her life. Apparently she was pregnant with her first child out of wedlock and has repeatedly lied about that. Then according to the National Enquirer she later had an affair with her husband's business partner. She has been overheard using profanity. Both of her teenage children have been accused by the National Enquirer with underage drinking, marijuana and cocaine use. Her 17 year old daughter got pregnant with a guy who uses a lot of profanity on his MySpace website. She has lied repeatedly about her support for the Bridge to Nowhere. She was a lousy mayor of her small town of Wasilla, Alaska, starting as mayor with no debt and leaving it with $22 million of debt. US Caused Marriot Fire In Pakistan
Yes, it was terrorists who destroyed the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan - terrorists aligned with Republican President George W. Bush. There was a truck bomb associated with this attack, but as with the similar Oklahoma City bombing earlier in the US why would a truck bomb alone destroy an entire large building? Reportedly numerous CIA and US marines were staying in the Marriott Hotel the day before the fire broke out. The fire, in fact, broke out in the very room CIA agents had been staying in on the fourth floor. These men were observed hauling in numerous crates into their rooms, avoiding security, and left before 5:30 the following morning. In case you hadn't heard, the US has recently been launching numerous attacks into Pakistan, not bothering to ask for Pakistan's permission. That sounds kind of like terrorism and is a violation of international law. Lately Pakistan's Congress has authorized their military to resist US incursions on Pakistani territory. Apparently the hotel bombing was an assassination attempt on Pakistan's top three leaders who were scheduled to be in the hotel, but weren't, at the time the fire broke out. The new Pakistani leaders are not American puppets as Mr. Musharraf was, and they know that Osama bin Laden was killed by Pakistani intelligence in 2001, so this is a phoney war to control the world's opium traffic in Afghanistan and to try to get control of Pakistan's 125 nuclear bombs. Polar Bear Hater Sarah Palin
I recently saw the movie Alaska starring a beautiful polar bear. These are some of the most beautiful of God's creatures and most scientists consider Alaska's polar bears an endangered species and therefore the hunting of them is illegal. McCain - Rich, Old, Sick, Dumb Crooked
Here's another guy like our present Bush and Cheney who is super rich. Owns between 7 and 12 homes - some are condominiums. Household servants are paid over $200,000 a year. And he was always rich. His mother's dad discovered oil so she was very wealthy. That explains why he went to private schools. And these kind of super rich people are often out of touch with the needs of ordinary people and often don't care about them. Maybe why McCain doesn't want to raise minimum wages. Obama and Biden both know what it's like to work for a paycheck. We know he's old. He would be the oldest president ever. He was a D student in both high school and college, and barely graduated from either, while Barack Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard, and has taught college classes as a professor for many years. Keating 5 scandal and Vicki Eiseman scandal. McCain has had trouble taking money from lobbyists throughout his 26 year congressional career, while the honest way Barack Obama has run his campaign should tell us something about his honesty. John McCain had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder admittedly from Vietnam. He has severe arthritis requiring him to take extra strength prescription painkillers just to function. High cholesterol. Recurring melanoma skin cancer which 7,800 people a year die from and probably causes his puffy face. Very severe anger management problems. McCain admits in his autobiography that he has gotten so angry on several occasions throughout his life that he has passed out. Thats a pretty extreme problem and yet McCain hasn't had a psychological evaluation for 15 years. McCain Tried To Slap A $1.10 A Pack Tax On Cigarettes
John McCain today tries to portray himself as someone opposed to taxes of all kinds, but 10 years ago he led an effort in the Senate to slap a $1.10 a pack federal tax on cigarettes. 21% of Americans are still regular smokers, and McCain himself had been a smoker for over 25 years before quitting in 1980. I live in a state where they recently added a big tax on cigarettes. It's now about $4.40 a pack. I don't smoke and don't believe in it, but I know a poor woman who is hooked on them. I think this shows something about McCain's ideas about taxation. McCain is now saying the Bush administration's three big tax cuts primarily for the rich, which were supposed to be short term tax cuts to stimulate the economy which obviously they didn't, should not be allowed to expire as they were designed. It was 1990 when the then Sarah Heath had a brief encounter with trombonist for the Duke Ellington Band Charles Greg Royal. She was talking to him in a friendly manner at a restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. He's a black man with very light skin who could easily pass for white. But then a couple of more obviously black members of the band came up to join in the conversation. She got very nervous and started to excuse herself. I don't mess with black men, she told Royal. But I'm a black man, he told her. But you're not really black, she replied. John McCain made the comment, I hated the gooks. I will always hate them! on his campaign bus when he was running for president in 2000 before a number of reporters. This story appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle. McCain was asked to apologize and at first refused, but did finally later apologize for the comment. But I mean this isn't something McCain's pastor said, MCCAIN made this comment himself. The Republicans are trying to grasp at straws. We know that John McCain has a very violent temper. He admitted in his autobiography that he has gotten so angry on several occasions throughout his life that he has passed out. He got so angry on one occasion when the 90+ year old Senator Strom Thurmond politely interrupted him during a speech that he allegedly shoved Senator Thurmond after completing his speech. He also allegedly got so angry at a group of families of POW/MIAs that he barged violently through the group to an elevator, sending one woman flying and shoving another woman in a wheelchair, to the point that the group submitted an ethics complaint for assault to the capital police against him. McCain has joked about beating his wife, another example of his weird sense of humor, joking about when he stopped beating his wife. Israelis Committed War Crimes In Gaza Invasion
They used white phosphorous to supposedly light up the sky but a lot of that fell and burned civilians - a war crime. They destroyed all factories in Gaza - a war crime. They destroyed hospitals, schools, and universities in Gaza - war crimes. They routinely torture Palestinian prisoners but never Jewish prisoners - war crimes. Their snipers fired at all Palestinians who dared to leave their houses, some even carrying white flags - war crimes. They destroyed the homes of supposed Hamas militants knowing their wives and children were probably in the homes - war crimes. They atacked a fellow member of the United Nations without first exhausting all means of negotiation - violation of the United Nations Charter. Israel was in fact killing an average of 8 Palestinians in Gaza every day with assassinations, etc. before one of their poorly made rockets happened to kill four Israelis, so it wasn't Hamas that started the war. Obviously Israel had been plotting this war for months, preparing the targets, while in a cease fire. The problem in the Mideast is that Israel has been butchering it's Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, Jordanian, Iraqi, etc. neighbors for the last 60 years. The Bible tells us no man will know the day or hour of the second coming of Jesus Christ, not even Jesus Christ, but only God the Father. Why does Jack Van Impe have this obsession with knowing the day of the rapture? The Bible says it will come as a snare and come when we think not. Time For US Puppet Mubarek To Be Removed From Power In Egypt?
It was strange that before Israel's recent assault on Gaza Israeli leaders first consulted with Egyptian leader Mubarek. Then when the assault started Egypt immediately closed it's border with Gaza, preventing emergency aid coming in to Gaza or any of the people of Gaza escaping. That's just what Israel wanted, so did the Israelis threaten Mubarek or did he just take their side any way? Gaza actually belongs to Egypt and was occupied by Israel many years ago. Israel is obviously not abiding by international law requiring the occupying power to provide for the needs of the occupied people. Israel's recent onslaught against Gaza involved destroying farms, schools, universities, hospitals, fire stations, roads, factories, etc. across Gaza. The Israelis even reportedly destroyed the zoo in Gaza and killed many of the animals. And Mr. Mubarek, who has ruled Egypt by martial law now for 25 years, offered no help or support whatsoever for his people in Gaza against this illegal onslaught. Mubarek recently cancelled scheduled elections in Egypt because he would likely have lost big. I think it's time this Israeli/American puppet be removed from office by the Egyptian army and replaced with someone who will be looking out for the Egyptian people, including those in Gaza. Most Modern Christians Are Apostate Laodiceans!
I was watching Donny Swaggart today. Pretty good preaching on 2 Chronicles 20, but he left out the part that Jehoshaphat called on Israel to fast and seek God. He just talked about seeking God. A lot of these modern preachers don't want to fast or deny themselves in any way. Then Joel Osteen was preaching on some kind of sociology or psychology or something that had nothing related to anything the Bible said at all. I didn't waste my time watching that for long. Then Pastor John Hagee. It sounded alright. Until you think a little about what he was saying. One thing he said was supposedly quoting the Bible if you don't work you shouldn't eat. How many have heard that before? They'll always misquote it that way, Rod Parsley and others. If that's what the Bible said there shouldn't be any welfare programs and you shouldn't do any almsgivng to the poor, but the early church had a welfare system and gave alms to the poor. 2 Thessalonians chapter 3 verse 10 says if any would not work, neither should he eat. See, it didn't say do not work it says would not work. This is talking about people able to work in every way and are not willing to work because they're lazy. And in context it's talking just about people in the church so it has nothing to do with a public welfare system at all. In the early church they had all things in common. Like a commune. Money was divided as they had need. Some of the people who were able to work weren't and were taking advantage of the system. Read the whole passage and don't give any more to this overweight, divorced and remarried millionaire Republican. At least Donny Swaggart said he was planning on dropping out of the Republican Party, a step in the right direction. How To Receive The Baptism In The Holy Spirit
First of all, why is it important that we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues? As a Christian, it's important if we want to go in the rapture. Jesus said the wise virgins took oil with their lamps while the foolish virgins didn't. Matthew 25:1-13. Oil is a type of the Holy spirit. At the midnight hour when the rapture happened the wise virgins walked in while the foolish couldn't find their way. There are two churches today, the Laodicean and the Philadelphian. Revelations 3:3-22. The real baptism in the Holy Spirit will bring some persecution. All who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution the Bible says. 2 Timothy 3:12. The Bible says the Philadelphian church has kept the word of my patience. Tribulation worketh patience. The Philadelphian church has already had their tribulation so they don't need to go through any more. The Laodicean church is bragging they are rich, increased in goods and have need of nothing, but what they need is the baptism in the Holy Spirit and then they will start getting some persecution. If you aren't getting any persecution you don't have the real thing if you think you already are baptized. So how do we receive this? We need to be cleansed. But what about Madoff's own charitable contributions? Although he's been widely described as a prominent donor to various Jewish causes, Madoff hasn't been giving away bundles of cash for some time now. In 2007, the Madoff Family Foundation, which listed $19 million in assets at the end of the year, reported handing out $95,000 over the course of the year, down more than 90 percent from the year before when the foundation gave away $1.2 million. Army veterans reveal how they gunned down innocent Palestinian families and destroyed homes and farms. Israel onfronted a major challenge on Thursday night over the conduct of its 22-day military offensive in Gaza after testimonies by its own soldiers revealed that troops were allowed and, in some cases, even ordered to shoot unarmed Palestinian civilians. The testimonies – the first of their kind to emerge from inside the military – are at marked variance with official claims that the military made strenuous efforts to avoid civilian casualties and tend to corroborate Palestinian accusations that troops used indiscriminate and disproportionate firepower in civilian areas during the operation. In one of the testimonies shedding harsh new light on what the soldiers say were the permissive rules of engagement for Operation Cast Lead, one soldier describes how an officer ordered the shooting of an elderly woman 100 metres from a house commandeered by troops. Another soldier, describing how a mother and her children were shot dead by a sniper after they turned the wrong way out of a house, says the atmosphere among troops was that the lives of Palestinians were very, very less important than the lives of our soldiers. A squad leader said: At the beginning the directive was to enter a house with an armoured vehicle, to break the door down, to start shooting inside and – I call it murder – to shoot at everyone we identify. In the beginning I asked myself how could this make sense? Higher-ups said it is permissible because everyone left in the city [Gaza City] is culpable because they didn't run away. The accounts, which also describe apparently indiscriminate destruction of property, were given at a post-operation discussion by graduates of the Yitzhak Rabin pre-military course at the Oranim Academic College in northern Israel. The transcript of the session in front of the head of the course – details from which were published by the newspaper Haaretz – prompted the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) military advocate general Avichai Mendelblit yesterday to announce a military police investigation into the claims. Haaretz said the airing of the dirty secrets would make it more difficult for Israelis to dismiss the claims as Palestinian propaganda. The course principal, Danny Zamir, told the newspaper that after being shocked by the testimonies on 13 February he told the IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi he feared a serious moral failure in the IDF. In one account, an infantry squad leader describes how troops released a family who had been held in a room of their house for several days. He said: The platoon commander let the family go and told them to go to the right. One mother and her two children didn't understand and went to the left, but they forgot to tell the sharpshooter on the roof they had let them go and it was okay... The sharpshooter saw a woman and children approaching him. He shot them straight away. I don't think he felt too bad about it, because, as far as he was concerned, he did his job according to the orders he was given. And the atmosphere in general, from what I understood from most of my men who I talked to, the lives of Palestinians, let's say, is something very, very less important than the lives of our soldiers. A second squad leader, who described the killing of the elderly woman, says he argued with his commander over loose rules of engagement that allowed the clearing out of houses by shooting without warning residents beforehand. After the orders were changed, soldiers had complained that we should kill everyone there [in the centre of Gaza]. Everyone there is a terrorist. The squad leader said: To write 'death to the Arabs' on walls, to take family pictures and spit on them, just because you can. I think this is the main thing: To understand how much the IDF has fallen in the realm of ethics. Ehud Barak, Israel's Defence Minister, said: I say to you that from the chief of staff down to the last soldier, the most moral army in the world stands ready to take orders from the government of Israel. I have no doubt that every incident will be individually examined. But Israeli human rights organisations, including B'Tselem and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, called for an independent investigation and complained that the military police inquiry had only been announced after Haaretz published the story, three weeks after the relevant materials reached the Chief of the General Staff. This tardiness follows a pattern of failures to investigate suspicions of serious crimes. Amos Harel, the paper's respected military correspondent who broke the story, wrote that Mr Zamir was sentenced in 1990 for refusing to guard a settlers' ceremony at Joseph's tomb in the West Bank. Israeli army Home Front Command Major General Yair Golan said Sunday that Tel Aviv is preparing for “all possible scenarios”, indicating that one such scenario would be to fight a simultaneous war against Iran, Syria and Lebanon. The confirmation comes as US President Barack Obama seeks “new beginnings” with its arch-rival Iran. The US offer has been met with world praise but with fury in Tel Aviv. Israeli media outlets late on Sunday began propagating wild scenarios that Iran is using the Lebanese Hezbollah to recruit Palestinian fighters to carry out terror attacks on Israel. Citing anonymous sources, the reports began to surface after Tel Aviv countered an alleged bombing attempt outside a shopping mall in the northern city of Haifa. “We are treating the attempted attack in Haifa with great gravity. A huge disaster was prevented by a miracle,” Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told a weekly cabinet meeting after the bomb was defused on Sunday. Israel has long accused Iran of arming Hezbollah and Palestinian groups via Syria, in an attempt to demonize the two Muslim countries. But the IDF said that armed fighters from Hamas and other militant movements accounted for most of the 1,370 dead. The survey was disclosed as Benjamin Netanyahu, the incoming prime minister, presented himself as a peacemaker and assured Palestinians that his government would be their partner. One day after enlisting the Labour Party into a broad coalition, embracing Left and Right, Mr Netanyahu focused on his plans to help the Palestinian economy. Peace: It's not the last goal. It's a common and enduring goal for all Israelis and all Israeli governments - mine included, he added. But Mr Netanyahu did not go as far as to endorse a two-state solution, which forms the essential foundation for America's plans for a peace settlement. In the past, he has consistently opposed the creation of a Palestinian state on the West Bank and Gaza. But the new coalition, which will formally assume office next week, appears to have saved Mr Netanyahu from one of his worst fears: leading a narrow, Right-wing government entirely reliant on religious and nationalist parties for survival. It was precisely such a hardline government that poisoned his relations with America and eventually collapsed under him the last time he served as prime minister between 1996 and 1999. Had he formed another administration of this kind, Mr Netanyahu would have been on a collision course with President Barack Obama, something he is anxious to avoid. Under the coalition deal with Labour, Mr Netanyahu's Right-wing Likud party will adhere to previous international agreements made by Israel. This formula may leave open a window for a deal on Palestinian statehood. But Saeb Erekat, a senior Palestinian negotiator, said that Mr Netanyahu would be judged by results. Any Israeli government that accepts the two-state solution, negotiates with us on all core issues without exception, and agrees to stop settlement activity will be a partner, he said. It's time for deeds from both sides as far as their commitments are concerned, not words. Even as Mr Netanyahu was addressing the conference, however, Israel's Army Radio reported that he had agreed to build more homes inside Jewish settlements on the West Bank inside an area known as E-1, a few miles east of Jerusalem. Construction in this vital region could sever the West Bank in two, making the creation of a viable Palestinian state even more difficult. The radio station said this was part of a secret agreement with Avigdor Lieberman, the leader of the nationalist Yisrael Beitenu party, who is likely to be foreign minister in the new coalition. The IDF's survey of the casualties in Gaza found that 1,370 Palestinians were killed in the campaign, which began on Dec 27 after years of rocket fire into Israel's southern cities. Of these, some 600 were guerrillas and another 320 were unidentified and designated simply as unaffiliated. Palestinian estimates for total number of dead are broadly consistent with the IDF's figures. But the two sides differ sharply over the number of civilian casualties, with Palestinian estimates suggesting that more than half of those who died were innocent bystanders. There is a crucial difference in how the two sides classify casualties. The IDF defines anyone under the age of 15 as a child and admits that 189 were killed. The Palestinian authorities list anyone under the age of 18 as a child. Another point of contention is over how to identify the 200 Palestinian policemen who were killed in the first day of the fighting during an Israeli air raid on a graduation ceremony in Gaza City. Israel categorises them as Hamas fighters on the grounds that Hamas governs Gaza and controls the police. The IDF figures also include 14 members of the Palestinian Fatah faction who were executed by their Hamas rivals. The release of the figures comes Human Right Watch accused Israel of firing white phosphorous shells indiscriminately over densely populated areas of Gaza in what amounts to a war crime. The New York-based group called on the United Nations to launch an investigation into alleged violations of the rules of war, both by Israel and Hamas, during the three-week Gaza war. Is The United States The Israel Of Bible Prophecy? Well, if so Ezekiel chapters 36, 37, and 38 refer to the United States not the modern day country calling itself Israel. There has been a great falling away from the faith in recent years in the United States of America. I read in a newspaper article that my home state of Wisconsin in 1990 had 90% of our people professing that they were Christians and today only 75%. That's an awful drop in just 15 years, and this has happened throughout the United States and had happened earlier in Europe. We need revival, my friends, and in fact that last days revival is already here. Get in and be a part of it because that means there isn't a lot of time left. The early and latter rains are falling preparing a harvest. But why do I think the United States is the Israel of Bible prophecy? Even with this great falling away it is still a predominantly Christian nation and the main country of missionary activity. It was founded by Christians who in fact called it the New Israel. And of course in the last 150 years millions of Jews have gathered to the United States from around the world. There are still a lot more Jews today in the United States than in the modern state called Israel. So what is Israel then? I think this is the Babylon of Bible prophecies. The Bible says this nation will be destroyed by fire in one hour. See Revelation chapters 17 and 18 and Jeremiah chapters 50 and 51. The Bible says Babylon has shed the blood of saints and martyrs, and Alexander Solzhenitsyn said the Zionist Jews who controlled the old Soviet Union under Stalin, Lenin and Trotsky were responsible for killing some 66 million people, many if not most of them Christians. And the decendants of those old Soviet Jews are now largely living in Israel, with some of them in the United States. Israel was always a wicked country, but it seems in recent years they have gotten worse than ever. I understand that many Israelis gathered on a hill so they could see and cheer on the recent Israeli massacre in Gaza. But you say these are the decendants of Abraham? But similar Jews in Jesus' day said the same and He said they were really the children of the devil. He said He knew they were technically the seed of Abraham but that Abraham hadn't acted like them. Abraham was a just man while they were liars and murderers. And of course they murdered Jesus Christ, Stephen and many in the early church as they had earlier the prophets. Some say God loves the Jews best, that they're His chosen people. No they aren't! The Bible says God is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34. God is love and He loves us all equally. God if the Creator of all the nationalities and peoples of the world. So you Jews need to seek the LORD with all your hearts, with fasting and prayer, as your ancestors did. Turn away from the man-made Talmud, that contradicts the Bible, to the Bible and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Messiah. The Jewish Jesus is a good television program with a Messianic Jewish rabbi. The Bible tells the people of Babylon to come out of her, at least spiritually, that ye be not partaker of her plagues. Most all of the Arab countries swarmed into Israel and were largely successful for a time. It looked like Israel was going down for awhile, and there were rumors Israel was going to use it's nuclear arsenal that it already had then. And North Korea was one of the nations allied against Israel. That's why Israel hates North Korea so much and doesn't want it acquiring nuclear bombs and rocket capability. But the reality is that now North Korea has probably several dozen nuclear bombs, they have advanced long range rocket capability, they even have a fleet of submarines capable of launching cruise missiles with nuclear warheads. What that means is that in a future Arab-Israeli conflict North Korea could launch one or more rockets toward Israel with MIRVs hitting all the cities of Israel, and at the same time launch nuclear warheads on faster than the speed of sound cruise missiles from submarines. I've heard North Korea already has at least 20 nuclear bombs and has a fleet of nuclear submarines armed with cruise missiles bought from Russia. That's exactly why the United States won't bother North Korea, because unlike Iraq they really have advanced weapons of mass destruction they're capable of using. All the right things were said about this brave soldier, just as, on current trends, they will be said about one or more of his colleagues who follow him next week. The alarming escalation of the casualty rate among British soldiers in Afghanistan ? up to ten per cent ? led to discussion this week on whether it could be fairly compared to casualty rates in the Second World War. But the key question is this: what are our servicemen dying for? There are glib answers to that: bringing democracy and development to Afghanistan, supporting the government of President Hamid Karzai in its attempt to establish order in the country, fighting the Taliban and preventing the further spread of radical Islam into Pakistan. But do these answers stand up to close analysis? There has been too easy an acceptance of the lazy notion that the war in Afghanistan is the 'good' war, while the war in Iraq is the 'bad' war, the blunder. The origins of this view are not irrational. There was a logic to attacking Afghanistan after 9/11. Afghanistan was indeed the headquarters of Osama Bin Laden and his organisation, who had been installed and financed there by the CIA to fight the Soviets from 1979 until 1989. By comparison, the attack on Iraq ? which was an enemy of Al Qaeda and no threat to us ? was plainly irrational in terms of the official justification. So the attack on Afghanistan has enjoyed a much greater sense of public legitimacy. But the operation to remove Bin Laden was one thing. Six years of occupation are clearly another. Few seem to turn a hair at the officially expressed view that our occupation of Iraq may last for decades. Lib Dem leader Menzies Campbell has declared, fatuously, that the Afghan war is 'winnable'. Afghanistan was not militarily winnable by the British Empire at the height of its supremacy. It was not winnable by Darius or Alexander, by Shah, Tsar or Great Moghul. It could not be subdued by 240,000 Soviet troops. But what, precisely, are we trying to win? In six years, the occupation has wrought one massive transformation in Afghanistan, a development so huge that it has increased Afghan GDP by 66 per cent and constitutes 40 per cent of the entire economy. That is a startling achievement, by any standards. Yet we are not trumpeting it. Why not? The answer is this. The achievement is the highest harvests of opium the world has ever seen. The Taliban had reduced the opium crop to precisely nil. I would not advocate their methods for doing this, which involved lopping bits, often vital bits, off people. The Taliban were a bunch of mad and deeply unpleasant religious fanatics. But one of the things they were vehemently against was opium. That is an inconvenient truth that our spin has managed to obscure. Nobody has denied the sincerity of the Taliban's crazy religious zeal, and they were as unlikely to sell you heroin as a bottle of Johnnie Walker. They stamped out the opium trade, and impoverished and drove out the drug warlords whose warring and rapacity had ruined what was left of the country after the Soviet war. That is about the only good thing you can say about the Taliban; there are plenty of very bad things to say about them. But their suppression of the opium trade and the drug barons is undeniable fact. Now we are occupying the country, that has changed. According to the United Nations, 2006 was the biggest opium harvest in history, smashing the previous record by 60 per cent. This year will be even bigger. Our economic achievement in Afghanistan goes well beyond the simple production of raw opium. In fact Afghanistan no longer exports much raw opium at all. It has succeeded in what our international aid efforts urge every developing country to do. Afghanistan has gone into manufacturing and 'value-added' operations. It now exports not opium, but heroin. Opium is converted into heroin on an industrial scale, not in kitchens but in factories. Millions of gallons of the chemicals needed for this process are shipped into Afghanistan by tanker. By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard Last Updated: 3:45PM BST 07 Apr 2009 A single clause in Point 19 of the communiqué issued by the G20 leaders amounts to revolution in the global financial order. We have agreed to support a general SDR allocation which will inject $250bn (£170bn) into the world economy and increase global liquidity, it said. SDRs are Special Drawing Rights, a synthetic paper currency issued by the International Monetary Fund that has lain dormant for half a century. It has been a good summit for the IMF. Its fighting fund for crises is to be tripled overnight to $750bn. This is real money. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the managing director, said in February that the world was already in Depression and risked a slide into social disorder and military conflict unless political leaders resorted to massive stimulus. He has not won everything he wanted. The spending plan was fudged. While Gordon Brown talked of $5 trillion in global stimulus by 2010, this is mostly made up of packages already under way. But Mr Strauss-Kahn at least has resources fit for his own task. He will need them. The IMF is already bailing out Pakistan, Iceland, Latvia, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, Bosnia and Romania. This week Mexico became the first G20 state to ask for help. It has secured a precautionary credit line of $47bn. Gordon Brown said it took 15 years for the world to grasp the nettle after Great Crash in 1929. This time I think people will agree that it has been different, he said. President Barack Obama was less dramatic. I think we did OK, he said. Bretton Woods in 1944 was a simpler affair. Just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy, that's an easy negotiation, but that's not the world we live in. There will be $250bn in trade finance to kick-start shipping after lenders cut back on Letters of Credit after September's heart attack in the banking system. Global trade volumes fell at annual rate of 41pc from November to January, according to Holland's CPB institute – the steepest peacetime fall on record. Euphoria swept emerging markets yesterday as the first reports of the IMF boost circulated. Investors now know that countries like Mexico can arrange a credit facility able to cope with major shocks – and do so on supportive terms, rather than the hair-shirt deflation policies of the old IMF. Fear is receding again. The Russians had hoped their idea to develop SDRs as a full reserve currency to challenge the dollar would make its way on to the agenda, but at least they got a foot in the door. There is now a world currency in waiting. In time, SDRs are likely evolve into a parking place for the foreign holdings of central banks, led by the People's Bank of China. Beijing's moves this week to offer $95bn in yuan currency swaps to developing economies show how fast China aims to break dollar dependence. French President Nicolas Sarkozy said the summit had achieved more than he ever thought possible, and praised Gordon Brown for pursuing the collective interest as host rather than defending Anglo-Saxon interests. This has a double-edged ring, for it suggests that Mr Brown may have traded pockets of the British financial industry to satisfy Franco-German demands. The creation of a Financial Stability Board looks like the first step towards a global financial regulator. The devil is in the details. Hedge funds deemed systemically important will come under draconian restraints. How this is enforced will determine whether Mayfair's hedge-fund industry – 80pc of all European funds are there – will continue to flourish. It seems that hedge funds have been designated for ritual sacrifice, even though they played no more than a cameo role in the genesis of this crisis. It was not they who took on extreme debt leverage: it was the banks – up to 30 times in the US and nearer 60 times for some in Europe that used off-books conduits to increase their bets. The market process itself is sorting this out in any case – brutally – forcing banks to wind down their leverage. The problem right now is that this is happening too fast. But to the extent that this G20 accord makes it impossible for the shadow banking to resurrect itself in the next inevitable cycle of risk appetite, it may prevent another disaster of this kind. The key phrase is new rules aimed at avoiding excessive leverage and forcing banks to put more money aside during good times. This is more or less what the authorities agreed after the Depression. Complacency chipped away at the rules as the decades passed. Ye Must Be Born Again.
Ye Must Be Born Again. I heard an old minister once preach a sermon entitled Ye Must Be Born Again. I remember that he said, Why am I preaching on 'Ye must be born again?' Because Jesus Christ said 'Ye must be born again.' John 3:7. So how do we get born again? I know a lot of churches don't use the term born again and that doesn't necessarily mean that many of them are born again. I think that it means believing the gospel message. Jesus Christ said, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:15,16. So what is the gospel? That Jesus Christ, who was God, the Son of God, voluntarily came down to earth, was born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem in Judea. That He was the Christ or Messiah of Bible prophecies. That according to those prophecies that He died on a cross so that we can be saved and healed. But then He rose again two days later. That hundreds of people witnessed Him alive and well as is recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament of the Bible. Then He ascended up into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father. He's still alive today, and He's able to hear our faintest cry for help. The Bible said For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:10. So I can just whisper that name Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, save me, heal me, help me and He will hear and answer. But you might say, I don't know if He will help me. I'm an Arab. I'm poor. I'm handicapped. I've done a lot of horrible things in my life. The Bible said whosoever. An old song I used to sing said Whosoever meaneth me. I'm whosoever. You're whosoever. You don't have to be Roman Catholic, but Christianity is a catholic, or universal, religion. The Bible says God is love and He loves us all equally or impartially. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. So do you believe? You can even pray as one fellow in the Bible did Lord, I believe. Help thou mine unbelief. So please invite Jesus into your heart today. Say or whisper this prayer, Lord Jesus, I call on Your name right now. Save me. Heal me. Make me born again. Come into my heart. Change me to be like You. Cleanse me. Wash away my sins.
