I think on the old suntours, youd have 3 closely spaced holes on the base where you could plug the shifter body into. Meaning you could only rotate it a small amount and were reliant on the placement of those 3 holes. I think the idea here is that with indentations all the way around, the

Interesting points all, and fun to think about. the double kickstand idea is already reassuring. A trailer would be hard for us to store currently, but i guess we'd find a way if it was significantly better. I was just trying to figure out front vs rear mounted seats, which is frustrating on

Not all saddles got the tin of Proofide with the saddle in the past. The straight up B-17s did not but the higher end ones (that came packaged in a box) did often have the tin. SO maybe the special deal here is that all saddles for a limited amount of time will get the small sample size with

Joe, the sizing decision was made at the shop, at the time of the visit, as a sub-optimal but workable, pros outweighing the cons, given the options on hand. I paid for it as a full bike at that time. To the other point about them not knowing more tandems were en route — kind of part of the

I can say that the Wahoo Kickr is the best trainer I've ever owned, and I've owned a few of them. Easy to remove a bike on and off and no tensioning of the tire needed. Great product. But, a second rear wheel is really the least expensive and still user friendly option. It's the way I did it

You did what I want to do! MTN Mixte as kid carrier and rough stuff bike is a dream. My personal idea was to build it up with semi-modern parts. A 1x Shimano 11 speed kit, Paul brakes (V or Canti). If I weren't going that that way I'd go with a White Industries 1x crank, Sunrace 11-42 10sp
