I've been reading newgroups with TheBat using MyGate for years. Since
yesterday or the day before, it doesn't work any more. MyGate won't
start, and that's on two machines under Win10.

Browse Deleted Messages.
Highlight those messages you want to Undelete and hit the DEL key.
Alternatively, mark the messages in the Trash folder and move or copy
them to the folder where you want them to be.

deleted all your messages. messages.tbi is the index file. This is
tthe file taht seems ot be correupted. If TheBat does not find an
index file when the folder is opened, it will create one from scratch.
This file contains the flags, such as "flagged", "delet
7,232,226 MESSAGES.TBN
This should be the file. Rather than deleting it, rename it (I would
rename into message.tbn_old, but that's only my system). This way, you
can still rename it back if I am wrong.

Mine is set to 10 characters (so your example above is not
highlighted), but you set it to any value that makes sense to you.

Over here, it says Segoe UI, which is the orginal font set by Ritlabs.
Maybe this got changed unintentionally with an unknown keyboard shortcut.

I did this for testing earlier, and you can actually have two accounts in TB!
for the same email account at the same time: One being POP and the other being
IMAP.
