Hi Can some one point me in the right direction to have the approval server configured for remedy 7.1 implementation. I am looking for an out of the box solution with no customizations. I have different kinds of change requests which would be created and handled by different departments.

The OOTB ITSM 7 app supports numeric paging software such as TelAlert. I installed TelAlert 5.60.1 on my RKM and EIE/AIE server (the only 32-bit Win2K3 server I have) and configured a service on it to match the paging service defined in ITSM 7. I hung a modem on that server, the old fashioned way.

There is a system preference and it is on the form ctm:cfg:-ApplicationPreferences. If you want to look it up in the user form it is application preferences. Search for the system default record and you can change any application you have installed. It is on the left hand side of the screen

Do you have the choice of using the AIE integration engine? It does have an integration point to MS-SQL database servers as well as DB2 and other Oracle servers. If you do not have that choice you should be able to find a jdbc drivers for ms-sql on UNIX..

Yes, they dropped them, so you either buy and use SLM 7.x or create custom ones of your own. The would not be that hard to recreate since they were only dumb letter bombs (that did not follow the assignment if it changed), so you could actually do better than that with some custom escalations.

Matt, This is because there is a temp field that is set with the entry id of what the system thinks is a similar record. Turn on the AL logging at the time of attempting to add it again and you might be able to find out why that temp field is getting set.. Joe - Original Message
