server configured for remedy 7.1 implementation. I am looking for an out of
the box solution with no customizations. I have different kinds of change
requests which would be created and handled by different departments.

I've always used an active link to open the ticket just after submission. I was
just checking to make sure there isn't an option somewhere that will do this
automatically, like a configuration option or server setting that says to
reopen ticket after created.

The OOTB ITSM 7 app supports numeric paging software such as TelAlert.
I installed TelAlert 5.60.1 on my RKM and EIE/AIE server (the only
32-bit Win2K3 server I have) and configured a service on it to match the
paging service defined in ITSM 7. I hung a modem on that server, the old
fashioned way.
It's an ITSM 7 application preference - you set it for Incident and/or
Problem and/or Change from a dialog in any one of the consoles. It
would not be available to a custom app unless ITSM 7 were installed and
integrated with it.

There is a system preference and it is on the form
ctm:cfg:-ApplicationPreferences. If you want to look it up in the user
form it is application preferences. Search for the system default
record and you can change any application you have installed. It is on

Okay, I'm having issues here. I have a dynamic group called Organizations. The
Group ID is 60004. I have added a field to a form. The field is called
Organizations, is of length 255 and is a character field. The ID of the field
is 60004.
The Request ID on that same form has a permission group
Okay, I removed the single quotes from the value of Devco in the Organizations
field and it works fine. I thought you had to have ' and a ' around your value
in a field that is used for dynamic permission groups I guess not.

Well sorry I should have said what I really wanted. This may work out of the
box I never tested it but what we want to do is turn groups on as on call
groups and then put the email in for a resource account which is just an email
address but when trying to add that email address to the pager

This is because there is a temp field that is set with the entry id of what the
system thinks is a similar record. Turn on the AL logging at the time of
attempting to add it again and you might be able to find out why that temp
field is getting set..
