I have had many requests for pictures of the
Tropical/Couch's Kingbird that was photographed yesterday on Upper Duck Island
on the Ontario side of the Ottawa River in the east end of Ottawa.This bird has

SABINE'S GULL (1 adult breeding) was found at the base (east) of the Ottawa
River Deschenes rapids at 5:45 pm on the 22nd. Best seen from Britannia Point
(east end of Cassels St) it has been present every day including today
Mark Gawn just called (2:19 pm) and he is on 3 Jaegers and 2 Sabine's Gulls,
all juv, over Lake Dore north of Eganville. He has identified 1 Parasitic and 1
Long-tailed but has not yet been able to identify the 3rd Jaeger. He initially
saw these birds from Church Point which I assume is on

HUDSONIAN GODWIT (19) were found at the Shirley's Bay mud flats (west of the
causeway) on the 15th. They were seen again at dawn the next morning but except

An adult LITTLE GULL was seen briefly (approx. 7 to 7:45 pm) from the Quebec
shore of the Ottawa River below the Deshenes Rapids on the 1st. The bird was
flying up and down over the rapids on both the Quebec and Ontario side
