vets don't really have experience treating pancreatitis
but it is manageable.
Amy, I don't think this is your problem since your kitty is
eating.

Has he been tested for pancreatitis? Hyperthyroid?
Those are two conditions that result in weight loss. That is what we tested
for.

Pancreatitis is a blood test (and/or ultrasound). They send the blood to
Texas now. There is a yahoo group for feline pancreatitis. It is important
to do the right test. There is an outdated one that some vets still use.
It isn't really something they treat. My vet had me put Frankie on a low fat

She also got canned Fancy Feast but the majority of her diet was/is EVO.

I am sorry to hear about your kitty. Glad you are here. I am sure you know
he must eat. Mackerel, Fancy Feast canned foods (gourmet salmon and shrimp
works here), dry EVO, Kentucky fried chicken, canned Friskies, Whiska
packets with cheese, Weruva paw lickin chicken, fresh tilapia or salmon
Me, too about the cat litter. That could explain the vomiting. If he is
vomiting and not having stools, it can mean the kitty is blocked and needs
to be seen asap. They had my Lucy swallow some pills and then xrayed her
stomach each couple hours to make sure they moved into the intestines. They

I adopted 3 FeLV- cats 3 1/2 months after Squeaky, FeLV+ died.
I don't recall now if I changed water and food bowls.
The virus does not live long outside the body.
I didn't have carriers or scratching posts with my FeLV+ cats. I was not a

I always
I didn't know GMTA either!

thanks to
Keisha, died suddenly died from congestive heart failure. We did make it to
the vet (twice that day) and she died there the second time. He missed the
problem at the first visit despite the chest xrays showing fluid and sent
her home. She collapsed when we got home and I rushed her back out there.
Oxygen tank. The vet had placed Keisha in one and that is where she died.
Used for kitties who aren't breathing right.
