I found a problem while looking into this. I’m not 100% sure it will
fix what you’re seeing, but install the latest update (2.5.1) and give
it a shot.
(If the track you’re playing isn’t in `~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music
Library.xml`, then you would have definitely had problems.)

plug-ins, click the gear menu at the bottom of the window and choose
“Delete Selected Plugins”, then after the restart, install the
plug-ins again.
