I checked my machine last night and the element is switching of at 1.4bar, gets a bit of overun to just under 1.5bar. I had the element changed some time ago to a 2000 watt Wega element (runs on 220V so no problem), so has some serious steam power now and definitely the best upgrade I ever made.

Probably a leaking vacuum release on the steam boiler. The release has an o-ring in it that can either perish from the heat or sometimes get some calcium on it causing it to leak. If mine starts hissing I usually just remove the cover and give the pin sticking out at few taps with a wooden spoon.

If you are showing pressure and have hot water then it sounds like your steam boiler is hot. Are you sure your steam wand is not blocked? Milk can be sucked inside the tip and block it up from the inside. There is a plastic pipe inside the steam wand, I would check that out as well. JohnB On
