Short of disabling javascript entirely on those pages, you'd have to find the script that's catching your keypresses and block it. There are other approaches to blocking bits of javascript, but I usually use AdBlock Plus for it. In the case of huffpost, this filter will work: |http://s.huffpost.com/assets/js.php?f=yui.js* I have the PrefBar extension installed for SeaMonkey. I use the JavaScript checkbox to disable JavaScript whenever I view the Huffington Post, not because of what happens to navigation arrows but because of the annoying same-window popups. I also disable JavaScript for several other news Web sites for the same reason. The only problem is remembering to enable JavaScript before I visit a page where it is really needed. Strange, I don't get pop-ups there but then I do use AdBlock Plus. Is there a way to white and black lists web sites for JS? But then other features on those web sites would break. Yes, I want to show eahc reciever's [sic] e-mail from a single mass e-mail. Darn, there's no way then. Thanks. Well, there is, but you can't do it with Thunderbird. If you have only some dozen(s) of recipients, it's easiest to make a template, and manually send to each person. Other alternatives include: 1. using an emailing service to send separate messages in one batch. 2. writing some code in a server-side language using your web server. I do #2 for a club I belong to for sending individually-addressed email to all the members, usually for notices about expired dues. I utilize a database for this, too. The only thing its good for is wasting memory as each tabbed item takes up memory. MUCH Less memory than a new window though, fwiw. But your only viewing each window one at a time. and it replaces in memory the previous window's contents. Its like a slide show. you completely replace the content in one window with the content in another window. In tabs your saving the content as a separate instance. when you have more than two tabs in memory that's a big drain on the RAM. Then the hard drive comes into play and drags everything down waiting for the swaps. (unless you have one of those solid state devices). Even that drags the SSD down eventually causing its demise at shorter interval. The main thing I use tabs for is doing comparisons - particularly when shopping or quoting/citing something. Very, very handy to be able to flip back and fourth with a direct click. I generally don't leave more than one tab open during a session, but I do use them during just about every session. Mainly with the Browser, not so much with Mail/News...but that habit may change. Interesting. I am a tab freak/addict in the web browser. I sometimes have 30 or more of them opened at once. So is it Linux or SeaMonkey? WLS This seems to be another case of screwed-up sniffing. All of the following were done with SeaMonkey 2.0.11. With the UA string Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101123 SeaMonkey/2.0.11 both the map and the blue overlaid route appear okay in my browser window. The the overlaid route DOES NOT appear in any print operation, including preview. Thus, the problem is not related to whether the operating system is Windows or Linux. With the UA string Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 both the map and the blue overlaid route appear okay in my browser window. The the overlaid route DOES indeed appear in print operations, including preview. In the case of SM 2.1b2pre, I suspect the pre is the key :-) Google Maps might have sniffed this as being for a Pre smart phone, in which case the mapping apparently works. (Not having -- or wanting -- any smart phone, I can't test that.) However, the experience of Barry Gilmour indicates otherwise. Maybe it's the combination of pre and KDE that works. Also not having Linux, this is another one I can't test. In the case of Opera, it might be a browser that Google ignores while sniffing. I found four open bug reports about invalid sniffing by Google. While two of them address problems with Google Maps, none of them specifically address this problem. I have submitted bug report #621619; see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=621619. The problem will not be fixed unless the Web site owner is informed. (It might still not be fixed.) You can use the template over and over changing the address field or specific content as you need, just dont' save any new changes to the template.
