Are you saying that you have a backup of the Asset data that was in Remedy? Does that backup include the Reconciliation ID? If it does, then you don't need to match on anything, you would simply need to do a Merge between the datasets, because everything should already be matched up (by

I would say that your first table seems more correct, except that I think you probably have the Source and Destination columns backwards (the Source depends on the Destination, not the other way around, IIRC). In addition, I don't think that your Rem001server computer system depends on the

When we were mapping that out, we made Remedy be a SoftwareServer. We also included SoftwareServers for the database servers (the database software, not the hardware) and made the Databases depend on the Software Servers. But then, we were tracking more information about databases in general.

LJ, doesn't that depend on what kind of auditing has been configured and on when the last time the value in question was changed? For example, if the form is configured for Log auditing, and the field in question (A) is configured simply as Audit, it will only write and entry to the audit log

No, that’s not what I’m trying to say. Sorry, I wasn’t more clear. I’m just saying that thinking in terms of Parent/Child will probably end up being confusing at some point. I think it’s better to think in terms of Source and Destination. For example, if A depends on B, which is the parent

No, you're not missing anything. I completely agree with you; it's a bit lacking in its current implementation. I think it would be much more useful if auditing included both the old and the new value. However the auditing as it is currently designed only records the new value. You would

Maybe it would help to understand why you want to disable this activity. Normally, this shouldn't be an issue unless you have multiple thousands of CIs in the sandbox, and I would think that a personal sandbox would normally not contain that many, so even if the job kicked off, it should

I've seen several naming standards, and lots of passion around some of them, but most of the ones I've seen are too complex and, IMO, unnecessary. My preference is to keep it simple and readable without trying to embed too much information into the name. Generally, I do something like this:

Yeah, that works too. My reason for making it a prefix is that I like to be able to see at a glance everything I've modified. Using a prefix allows me to easily group it all together. Then I can say, ok, these are the things I've modified. Did the patch affect any of the original items?
