I start getting nervous at oil change intervals above 8000 or 9000. I have been changing the synthetic oil in both the 911 and the 91 300D at 8000 miles. So far, the oil analysis are showing I am seeing slow wear rates. Also, we've had a lot of 90+ temps - it seemed like all of August was above

I would add to this that the 3K oil change is more important to a diesel than a gas engine. When I changed my diesels at 3K, I felt good about getting all the dirt and soot out of the engine. So, while it might be marketing, it was worth it to me. And the engines are still going strong after

I've been happy with every LED I've used in the last couple years. Just got some "dimmable" units to put in a ceiling fan. They don't really dim the way incandescents do, they drop to about 2/3 brightness and below that they quit. Still they pull 5w each instead of 40 and and light the room

I know of two kinds of LED replacement tubes: One kind needs the ballast to run, so they're not a fix for a dead ballast but you don't have to rewire. The other kind runs on straight 120v, so you bypass the ballast and you need non-shunted bulbholders/tombstones. After that, no more worries
