Bob Just as a long shot, consider using Revolution again. I guess I should have remembered this, but there is an immature phase of round worms, which move through the tissues (sometimes causing eye problems) and into the lungs. During the migration of the immature phase, they move into the lungs and causing the cat to cough harshly in order to cough up the immature phase, which then gets swallowed down, ending up back in the intestines all over again. Using Revolution will kill the mature roundworms in the intestines, but not the immature phase. Thus, one needs to use the Revolution for several months in order to catch all the worms in their various phases. Doxycyline has some negative effect on the immature phase, so using both might also assist. I figured out this issue recently when a cat I had had for more than a year, was really losing weight, had very minimal hair growth (sort of stubby hair), and kept vomiting up her food. One day, while cleaning up the vomit, I noticed an adult round worm in the vomit. I couldnāt figure out how my cat would have had worms because I had deflee-ed her when she was just a tiny kitten, and treated her with the kitten Revolution. She was strictly an indoor cat, as all mine are, so there was no source I could figure out for a roundworm infection. I checked it out online, and finally understood that she still had a roundworm infection from kittenhood. Her sister also had lackluster hair growth. I treated both with Revolution and saw an immediate improvement with weight gain and hair growth. However, unfortunately, her sister got pregnant, and I also found out that the immature stage of the roundworm gets passed down to kittens through mother's milk - which must have been how both of them got it in the first place since I picked them up when they were only a few days old. Anyway, the rest of the mystery was solved because the sister got very sick while nursing the kittens - running nose, coughing, temperature, (and again, I couldnāt figure out how that could be, given that she wasnāt exposed to any new cats). The kittens also got sick, and had this TERRIBLE hacking cough and really badly infected eyes which NO topical medication would help, and no antibiotic helped UNTIL I tried the Doxycycline. Everything fell into place for me when I saw the worm in my cat's vomit, and did a bit of research. So, if possible, try Revolution again, and try some Doxycycline and see if that leads to any improvement. Re: [Felvtalk] Diarrhea..
Thank you all for the ideas on treating Diarrhea... A few I recall reading about when I first got Jerry but several are brand new Ā Bentonite and Pectin are seemingly benign enough and easily enough obtainable to add to his regimen Ā Roundworm Larval stages are CERTAINLY not something I would have stumbled upon without Amaniās suggestion and worth serious consideration given that he does have poor hair growth and was vomiting some weeks ago ( it has abated in recent weeks) Problem is, as well, that Ā the shelter has limited funds and does not āreallyā want to invest too much in a 15 y r old cat that isnāt that ill( yet)... and , for whom, so many things can be attributed to ā old ageā ( as though somehow old age is itself a disease and treatment serves no real purpose) No creature dies Ā of OLD age...systems break down and need repair or bolstering...just a LOT more frequently than in most young creatures.. so, as Iāve done in the past.. I will likely embark on some sane interventions on my own and see where they lead Iāve got a lot of ideas now... -bob On Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 02:38 PM, felvtalk-requ...@felineleukemia.org wrote: Send Felvtalk mailing list submissions to felvtalk@felineleukemia.org To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://felineleukemia.org/mailman/listinfo/felvtalk_felineleukemia.org or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to felvtalk-requ...@felineleukemia.org You can reach the person managing the list at felvtalk-ow...@felineleukemia.org When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Felvtalk digest..." Bob, Bentonite edible white clay and pectin work wonders for diarrhea! These are natural remedies and the dosage does not have to be exact. I mix a bit of clay and open a capsule of apple pectin with water and syringe a 3cc syringe, almost full, into the cats mouth. It does not taste bad (no taste) but of course the cat will protest as they alwayss do :-( Pet shops or Swanson Viamins carry both products. Lorrie and ten rescued cats at home. Hi Bob, My friend's cat I mentioned was a shelter cat who was treated by both of our vets repeatedly and nothing worked. She was fostering and finally gave up and took him to her own vet who saw everything that had been tried and had not worked and went and did very expensive blood work and then came up with the diagnosis the B12 prednisone and hydrolyzed protein food. We were both disappointed that neither of the vet practices that the cat had been to repeatedly and previously had never even considered this condition as a possibility. If she had not adopted him he would have been euthanized even though it's a no-kill shelter Praise the Lord different leadership is at the shelter now and that is not a possibility anymore. My Ally also got picky about food near the end and I definitely don't want to mess around with the kitty not eating and doing anything to make them even less inclined to eat. It would be more expensive but if you could get the script compounded into a transdermal to be absorbed through the skin in the ear that would make it so the meds were not in the food. Re: [Felvtalk] diarrhea
If a vet visit is necessary you might want to purchase At Ease. It's put out by Whisker City and can be purchased at PetsMart. WalMart also sells it. I usually spray the carrier about 15 minutes to a half hour before the cat has to be put inside. The spray is safe but it's better to let it dry a bit so the cat won't get it all over himself. it's a combination of herbs which is supposed to act like pheromones to relax the cat. It actually works. I was quite surprised. I had one howler who was louder than sirens all the way to the vet. Re: [Felvtalk] diarrhea
Hi Laura, Ā Ā I'd involve the Vet. Take a stool sample if you don't want to take Pugsley himself,Ā and let the Vet see the consistency and mucous, and test for parasites.Ā This doesn't sound like what I'd consider "normal" diarrhea. I know that sounds like a contradiction, but common causes (food issues, parasites, stress)Ā don't usuallyĀ present that way. Especially with a compromised cat, better to find the cause and resolve the underlying problem. If you do want to ask for an antibiotic, I'd suggest Clavamox rather than either flagyl or tylan, both of which can have significant side effects. Ā Ā Ā Doing some searching about L-Lysine, I see a few entries about high doses causing "Digestive issues", But I've never had any problems with it. I don't use it much anymore, and use famciclovir when herpes raises it's ugly head, but every cat is an individual. Pugsley may not tolerate that level on L-Lysine. I think it's something else. Ā Ā Ā I hope it either resolves quickly on it's own, or turns out to be something simple. Laura, Has he been dewormed? If a stool sample turns up negative, consider trying FortiFlora. Or maybe that's the pro-biotic you mentioned. My 4 month old positive kittens recently went through a bout of diarrhea (where no parasites showed on a fecal float) that cleared up with FortiFlora. Hi Gary, Have they been checked for Trichomonas foetus? That was the first thing that came to mind when I read your post. See if this might make sense; http://www.cvm.ncsu.edu/docs/documents/ownersguide_tfoetus_revised_122009_final.pdf You might be able to stop the actual diarrhea with loperomide, but that's short term and won't eliminate the cause. Have they ever lived together? Have they been treated for parasites even if they don't show up in a fecal? Most worms/parasites only show intermittantly, so I always try a course of panacur for diarrhea that doesn't self-limit. I will think more about it :) HTH, Margo -Original Message- >From: gcru...@centurytel.net >Sent: May 11, 2013 5:35 PM >To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org >Subject: [Felvtalk] Diarrhea > >This really is not about FeLV+ cats. Re: [Felvtalk] Diarrhea
I have successfully used Propectalin to stop diarrhea in cats when there was no apparent cause (change of diet or some sort of parasite, bacteria). It's a paste. Comes in a tube and usually costs about $12. You put a 1" strip on your finger and swipe it into the cat's mouth. Be careful not to lose a finger. You do this two or three times a day for a couple of days or until you see that her stool is back to normal. It's sort of like Imodium for people. Re: [Felvtalk] Diarrhea
I would suggest some probiotics...sounds like gut flora is off. Your vet may carry it...it's called Probiocin...comes in a gel/paste form in a syringe that cats like. Really helps with diarrhea. Also, a complete and balanced raw food diet will do the trick also. Yogurt really doesn't have that much probiotics in it, but if that's all you have, I'd try it. If the diarrhea persists, I'd get her to the vet...she may needs sub-q fluids to rehydrate her. [Felvtalk] Diarrhea
Hello everyone, I'm sorry to bother you all, last night, a few minutes past midnight, Kitty had diarrhea. She had it again at 4 this morning and again about 15min ago now. Her feeding schedule has been, she ate her regular canned food with mixed water at 9pm last night and again this morning at 5am, when fed her this morning, I made sure to make to mix more water than usual with her food. There has been no changes to her diet in the past few days but she did go to the vet on Wednesday and all her bloodwork came back without issues. At this time should I start her on a broth diet? Any specific items to include? Vitamins? How long? should we take her to the vet? According to dr. Pitcairns book yogurt is also good after two days of broth, is that a good idea? How about using slippery elm? Wouldn't that be lovely!Ā However, we all seem to live in different places, miles apart.Ā Even those rescuers who live in Texas do not live very near each other.Ā My best friend and I had a sort of plan to buy some land for the two of us so we could share responsibility for the rescued cats but she passed away from cancer.Ā It was probably a bad idea anyway since we both could not turn our backs on a sad meow.Ā We would have had a couple of hundred cats in no time. Re: [Felvtalk] Imodium for kitten diarrhea
Hi, I have 6 cxats from 2 years to 15. I am having touble switching them to raw food. All they want is kibble (Blue Buffalo) so it has no wheat, corn or soy. 2 go out for about 2 hours a day and hunt so smaybe they are getting enough mice, moles, oles and shrews to satisfy their need, not sure. Older ones do not go out and they are the ones with vomitting problems and their problem is getting upset when others coje near. They jump and run for cover and of course they vommit. have decided I am going to have to feed them in seperte room so they have the opportunity to get a bit of peace and quiet before letting them back with the others. I have two rescued kittens approx 4 months old. Both have diarrhea. I wormed them twice with Pyrantel Pamoate aka Strongid. They are also on Albon. They were checked by the vet and who found no parasites in the stool samples, but the diarrhea is still there, and very severe in the female. I understand kittens and cats can take Imodium, so I bought childrens Imodium today. Can any of you give me the dosage for kittens weighing 4 pounds? Thank you. Lisa, I had a kitten come up positive for FeLV on a Snap test. When the others, plus mom, tested negative, my vet said she thought it was suspicious and that I could stop isolating her. Happily, she just tested negative and the vet's pretty sure it was a false positive. Stick with this group! They are a wealth of information and inspiration, and you will know what to ask your vet when you go. You will also get a feel for if your vet is up to speed on leukemia by reading these posts. Re: [Felvtalk] 3 1/2 month old kitten with diarrhea
Try Feliway spray to calm him and Rescue Remedy in his water. Believe it or not, pumpkin (not pie filling but plain canned pumpkin) mixed in canned kitten/cat food will help with the diarrhea. (Per several vets and personal experience with Copper and Thomas Cougar-Kitten). Re: [Felvtalk] 3 1/2 month old kitten with diarrhea
Check with a holistic vet in addition to your regular vet if you can. I credit Dixie's life to the cooperation between both types of vets here in Louisville. I have two boys now who are very healthy (thank God) and who have tested negative. I still use both types of vets with them. They came from a pine thicket so have a questionable background..thanks to my vets, they are flourishing. Good luck. Re: [Felvtalk] 3 1/2 month old kitten with diarrhea
Even if the lab test comes back positive, since he's a kitten, make sure you retest later. I reccommend 3 months. I have never mixed b/c I've only had 1 felv at a time and had a room for that cat, but I have let the cat out in the house to roam while the others are put away so technically, they have "shared spaces"- but never food or water or litter boxes. I have never had any later retest as felv due to that exposure. My own opinion is that felv is not transmitted as easily as believed in the past. In fact, I am starting to think it's more akin to FIV where the contact has to be very direct, like a deep bite wound, or transmission through birth. Again, that's my own opinion just based on experience and my own self education and I know other list members and vets will disagree, so in the end, it's always up to you to do what's best for the cat. caroline kaufmann > Date: Fri, 14 Nov 2008 09:13:22 -0500> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org> Subject: Re: [Felvtalk] 3 1/2 month old kitten with diarrhea> > Lisa> > It is good that you have a vet who is willing to work with you. Lisa--good for you for taking such good care of this little guy. And you have come to the right place for help--folks here are the most knowledgeable I've ever found. I've mixed and never had a problem. Also, it is always possible that a kitten can throw off the virus so you may want to retest several months from now if the IFA is pos. [Felvtalk] 3 1/2 month old kitten with diarrhea
I am so happy to have found this list. Two weeks ago, I took in a 3 month old kitten. He's a beautiful orange kitten and I've fallen in love with him. Yesterday I took him to the vet for his vaccines, and we ran an FeLV/FIV "snap" test. It came back positive for FeLV. We sent off the other test (IFA?) to the lab and I await those results. I have two other cats - one is almost 4 (male) and one is 2 (female). They have both been vaccinated against FeLV. My male in particular has become close with the kitten. it proved to be impractical to isolate the kitten as he just cried and cried ... and escaped every time I opened the door. So I decided to supervise them, make sure they don't fight, keep a clean litterbox, etc. and I just let him back out with my other cats. From the couple of posts I have read, I see I am not the only one. And my vet was so adament about keeping the baby isolated. He does have diarrhea, and I was looking at probiotics. Can something like Fortiflora harm him if he does have a compromised immune system? I understand I would be giving him "good" bacteria to balance things out. He was negative for worms. Thank you for any info, and I look forward to the group, regardless of the test results. My kitten is active, and is a LOVE ... and he isn't going anywhere! I sometimes use veterinary Kaopectate. It's not what's on the store shelves, cause they've changed the formula and it's not safe for cats. But the old formulation was - and somehow, thru our vet, we got the "safe" old formulation of Kaopectate. It's worked well for my kitties, for many occasions of nonspecific diarrhea. I think people on this site have also recc'd- for general diarrhea- in the past to boil a chicken and give them the chicken broth. I have never been able to try it yet though, as I am a vegetarian, thus, I'm not chicken boiler! But it's something else to try to keep her satiated, dehydrated and keep her electrolytes going. RE: Autumn and Diarrhea
OH MY GOD! This is such a similar experience to what my beloved, and late, Monkee did, I just had to reply! He too got into a homemade cooling loaf of banana nut bread I had left out on the stove top (which he knew he wasn't allowed on)!! I had put a paper towel over top of it and he totally raided it! When I found it, he had shredded the paper towel and there were kitty nail marks and teeth marks all on the bread! It was so funny! Also, about the same time, I had left a soy cheese pizza out on the counter, cooling, with a paper towel on top and he raided that too! He shredded everything again, but the funniest part was that his white muzzle got stained orange from the pizza sauce (from him sticking his face in it no doubt)! He tried to act like he didn't do anything wrong, but the evidence was all over his face! I was mad at him, but it was so funny and he looked too cute that I took pictures of his orange face with my camera phone and sent them to everyone with the title "Pizza-faced Monkee!" He was the best and I miss him soso entertaining. Cherish these moments, even if they are semi-annoying! I did talk to my vet about Monkee's food raiding when it happened because he had never done it to that extent before. At the time, we were trying to get him to lose some weight so he was on S/D light dry only. The vet recc'd adding wet food as the "new" theory was that cats "feel" like they have eaten more if they get some wet food. Now, this is in contrast to a previous "theory" that cats get "filled up" more on a primarily dry food diet. I'm sure this could be debated on end and different vets will be on a current, different theory at any given time, so, you have to take it with a grain of salt and just try different things and use your own judgment/let YOUR cat tell you what's best in the end. I did start adding S/D wet to try to satiate Monkee more, but I don't know if it worked because I also stopped leaving things out on the counter so his food raiding did cease anyway! I also think that when they are having diarrhea and you can pin-point the cause (human food raiding), it's good to give their gut a rest and hold off on the dry food. If you have I/D, I would personally feed that to get her through the hump. Also, with the caveat that I AM NOT A VET and you certainly don't need to follow my advice, but when I had kittens with diarrhea that wasn't caused by a known source, to help calm their systems down, the vet said to give them Liquid Imodium- which I did and they were fine. I can't remember the dose though. But it's not a full cc- when in doubt, I always go with 1 cc per pound of body weight, or maybe even less than that. In situations like this, you can always put a call into your vet and ask what they think about the food-raiding behavior and/or if you can give Imodium/how much, etc. I hope this helps, Caroline Date: Mon, 5 Nov 2007 13:37:47 -0600From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Autumn and DiarrheaHey All, Autumn is doing really well overall. Re: Autumn and Diarrhea
Hi Susan, You should talk to your vet's office to see what they think, but I don't think you need to rush Autumn in right away. Having dealt with diarrhea with Ember, my first course of action would be to rest her from food for a day or two, if possible. Make sure she has plenty of water, of course. After the short break, I would increase portions until normal over a few days. If you don't want to give her time off of food, then you might at least take her off the hard food for the time being, and then slowly reintroduce it over a week or so. You might also try giving her some pumpkin. I think a teaspoon of pumpkin mixed in with wet food is what I did for Ember when she had bad diarrhea. Keep in mind that this is what *I* would do. Your vet may have a better idea of what's best for little Autumn. I hope she starts feeling better soon. Thanks for the info Laurie! If it turns out to be IBD, I'll be glad to know there's a group to turn to. Yes, making food seems daunting since I have a difficult enough time doing it for me and my husband (not because I don't like to, just busy). The winter is always less hectic, so I plan to start making kitty food then. Mine get occasional fancy feast too, it's not too bad if it's limited to a snack, and not the primary food source. I use it to hide medicine in all the time, it's a great kitty junk food. Just remember that's what it is, and use it accordingly. You wouldn't eat a big mac and a large fry for all your daily meals, if you did, it would be bad. Treat FF like fast food for cats, good for occasional happiness, but not good for much else. I usually split 2 cans between 6 cats, so it's a heaping tablespoon each. Like a good dessert, LOL! Just don't give it to the poopy kittens, it's got too much stomach and intestinal irritating junk in it for them just now. My cats HATE the canned EVO, they would rather starve than eat it. The Califorina Natural canned seems to go over better, and the Wellness canned seems to be even better, for my cats anyways. Phaewryn Don't Lose Your Pet! Re: kittens have diarrhea
so it's light in color? It could still be trich though, even if it's not the right color, I would do the testing and see what comes up. Maybe take in a "mixed" poo sample from the box, a dab from each kitten. How long ago were they weaned? I missed their age I think? Is it patty-like, it holds it's form kind of in a puddle in the box, not real liquidy? Does it stick to the bottom of the box, like clay? I would add more fiber to their diet, which is the opposite of feeding the low-residue food. It may get worse before it gets better that way though. The concept behind the low residue food is that there's less to poo so it makes for less diarrhea. Where the idea of adding more fiber works by absorbing some of the liquid, and makes poo more solid (but it makes more poo). Evo is low residue too though, so you'd have to add a secondary fiber source. Pumpkin, or a fiber supplement for humans (just make sure there's no chemicals and it's JUST fiber, I'm not sure of "cat safe" OTC fiber drugs), or Feline Missing Link, that's high fiber too. Yes, this is exactly why I was planning to continue to offer him Science diet several times a day. I know just plain old chicken/turkey is not nutritionally complete. This was more about getting him some healthy calories to replace some of the cancer corn. I'll take a look at the links and if there's a supplement maybe I can shift the balance some. The other confession I should make, while I'm confessing my cat feeding sins is, we give Otis, Bandit, Smokey 1/2 can fancy feast each, each evening. Gussie has to get wet DM so we can shoot her safely with insulin, and the babies have been having the limited ingredient with the probiotic mixed in. Maybe if you all yell at me enough, I'll figure out how to replace the FF with something better -- but they are totally addicted to whatever kittykrack the nasty FF makers put in there. What a super cool group. I am amazed at the level of answers, how much everyone knows, etc... and how tolerant everyone seems to be. I'm delighted to have found this group. Lynette

probiotics are good, no matter what you feed, I would continue to add the probiotics! I'm currently using the Purina fortiflora packs myself, as my vet sent my cat home from the hospital with an opened box, and I think it's a good product, he seems improved already. Normally I wouldn't buy anything made by Purina, but this product seems to be a good one. The fact is, most likely Purina buys this in bulk from someone else that makes it and just re-packages it in those little single packs in a box and marks it up like 200% and calls it their own, anyways. :-) Phaewryn Don't Lose Your Pet! Money is MY personal limiting factor as to why I don't do this. It's time and money. If I feed raw and make my own, it's a time issue; if I were to buy premade raw like those above, it's a money issue. It might not be bad for one cat, like you would need, but I have 7 cats here, one of which has no teeth, so anything I would feed to him I have to dice into 1/4 inch cubes. Anyways... at the least, the Feline Future link, the bottom one, would be a good way to make your currently fed chicken and turkey more complete (though you really should add some organs too). I just don't want you to end up with a sick cat, he can't continue to eat just chicken and turkey long term, it's not healthy or balanced. Phaewryn Don't Lose Your Pet! You cannot add too many probiotics. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man. St. Francis - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Monday, January 01, 2007 5:50 PM Subject: Re: kittens have diarrhea Try Apple Pectin and/or Metamucil in small amounts. Also try probiotics/yogurt with active ingredients. We are using Purina veterinary diets fortiflora mixed into IVD/Royal Canin limited ingredient wet food at night. I don't know whether to continue this, with the "stop the smorgasboard" plan in effect, but it's certainly in the probiotic concept. Lynette

I have a gut feeling that it's something like this -- a parasite that Drontal doesn't kill. And now that I think about it, their mom had diarrhea too (she is in another home so is less present in my mind). I'll get them to the vet for some fun poop checks, hopefully Wednesday. Thanks for a great link. > I think the Evo will help, and I think a viable option for your table scrap k > itty > would be to feed raw or at least "home-made", as it will be more of the flavo > r and > food type he is used to, but healthier than actual human scraps. We do give him cooked chicken and turkey when we have it on hand (we eat most meals at home so it's on hand fairly frequently) To really do handmade properly requires a lot of nutritional effort that I'm sure is outlined in the links you shared and I'm sure you're well aware of. I've done a ton of nutritional reading and just simply have not had the time/energy to do this right. Hence the Innova in the main bowl; I decided it was the best I could do short of BARF/homemade. Re: kittens with diarrhea
That may be the case. I do find it bizarre that all of a sudden I'm getting so many positives for trich... but then, there wasn't a test before, so that explains why I just began to find them. Err DUH! If you don't test for it, you don't KNOW about it. I just am glad it's finally becoming known, because it's curable, and lots of cats probably suffered their whole life with it up until now. Keep in mind that a lot of times giardia does not show up on fecal. How long have they been on metronidazole? Have they been dewormed, preferably with Drontal? Re: kittens have diarrhea
oops-- sorry, I had not read the original post. I see they are already on metronidazole. Yes, then I would focus on diet. Michelle
Re: kittens have diarrhea
I would try just evo, and if it continues, I would ask the vet to try a week course of metronidazole (flagyl) to clear up whatever is causing it. Michelle
kittens with diarrhea
Thank you for your suggestions. We are going to change the "smorgasboard" into Innova Evo only. Cast of characters: Our cats: Smokey, 3.5 yrs, healthy Bandit, 3.5 yrs, healthy Otis, ~13 yrs, FIV+, hyperthyroid Gussie, 11 yrs, diabetic, brain damage from hypothyroid coma induced by too much insulin (we got her days after she came out of the coma) Foster cats: 3 kittens, Taylor, Jackie, Kayla, possible FeLV exposure from mother The smorgasboard originated this way: the kittens came to us on Purina; rather than change diet and annoy bowels that way, we just left them on it. The DM was for Gussie; of course she prefers the Innova anyway, and the protein/carb balance in it is acceptable for her, so the other cats were eating diabetic food and she was eating theirs. Otis will eat Science Diet or table scraps, your choice (rescue cat who had been fed table food by the classic "little old lady" who supported him off her dinner). He absolutely refuses Innova and is thinner than we'd like already. Our new plan is to meal-feed Otis Science Diet, unless by some miracle he decides the Innova is ok, and leave only the Innova down for free-feeding. In answer to the question about the Albon and Metronidazole, they were on the meds 10 days. They have received weight-appropriate dosages of Drontal twice; they had tapeworms and because they had diarrhea the vet recommended treating twice as the dewormer potentially was not in their systems long enough to be completely effective. Can you tell me what an "inpouch tritrichomonsis" test is? Google is not returning any results. A fecal and exam follow up seems appropriate to me once we see if making their food consistent helps. How long should we wait? Lynette =^..^= "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be measured by the way in which its animals are treated." --Mahatma Gandhi, 1869-1948
Re: kittens have diarrhea
I got to doing some digging, and came upwith this... Purina ONE feline growth ingredients: Chicken, chicken by-product meal, soy flour, corn gluten meal, brewers rice, beef tallow preserved with mix d-tocopherols (source of Vitamin E), corn meal, fish meal, poultry by-product meal, natural flavors, wheat gluten, phosphoric acid, salt, brewers dried yeast, potassium chloride, choline chloride, taurine, vitamin supplements (E, A, B-12, D-3), zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, riboflavin supplement, dl-methionine, niacin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, biotin, thiamine mononitrate, folic acid, copper sulfate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, citric acid, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), calcium iodate, sodium selenite. Purina Kitten Chow (Nurturing Formula): Poultry by-product meal, Brewers rice, Corn gluten meal, Soy flour, Animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), Fish meal, Wheat flour, Brewers dried yeast, Phosphoric acid, Animal digest, Tetra sodium pyrophosphate, Calcium carbonate, Salt, Potassium chloride, Choline chloride, Taurine, Zinc sulfate, Ferrous sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, Manganese sulfate, Niacin, Vitamin A supplement, Calcium pantothenate, Thiamine mononitrate, Copper sulfate, Riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, Pyridoxine hydrochloride, Folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, Calcium iodate, Biotin, Menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), Sodium selenite. I advise staying away from corn and wheat in cat foods, corn because cat's don't digest it well, and wheat because it's a huge cause of food allergies. Other than improving your food... I'd get a inpouch tritrichomonsis test done. Phaewryn Don't Lose Your Pet!
