I think Altium's protection is decent. It's not a dongle, those break at the
worst times. I used to work in a place that had a bunch of PowerPCB seats
and once or twice a year we had a system down due to a failed dongle.
It's not a timed node locked FlexLM lock which locks it down to one machine.
I'm only using a 300 watt power supply and it takes my XP box 25 seconds to
boot.
(that's a joke!)
Seriously though, don't install a bunch of crap on that PC or else the boot
time will grow horribly. (And it may not shut down properly...sort of like

Andrew, you shouldn't really attack Richard; it's below you. He can read
perfectly well because Mr. Lomax stated: But I'd have been very happy
to buy the license at the $2025 I bid.
You may not like what he did, but your analogy is way out of wack. If no
one else outbid Mr. Lomax then he would
Yes it's completely transferable (at least it says so in the 99SE
license), and it's the most generous policy I've seen with a s/w vendor.
People shouldn't go buying ones on ebay if they truly are not
transferable because this will be taken away if abused.

Ian,
I was reading your email and learning more (as I usually do when I ready
your windy emails), and I got to this part and started bustin' up:
InNet('LA*') will select LA0, LA1 .. even LA_SUXS (oops!).
I'm from LA and have similar feelings. :)
Happy New Year everyone!!

Wow, how do you get it up to 64k? I have a mature installation of it
here, and I just checked its size: 8k.

Dimensioning is one area that is really improved in DXP. You can specify
mm, cm, mils, inches, precision, and they attach to objects so when you
move the object (mounting hole for example) the dimensions adjust
automatically. It's much better than 99SE
Check out the demo if you have time.
Does anyone have a suggestion to get from Protel sch to an PADS PDIF
format?

You crack me up with #6! :)
Actually I think Nick Martin told us how to add that text a little while
ago. I think you could name it in 99SE.
It's now been factory set which is great.

A few that come to mind are:
Placing sch pins now allows incrementing/decrementing pin numbers WHILE
decrementing/incrementing pin names. I've been wanting that one for a
long time!!
Right mouse button pan in SCH and PCB.
