I had this problem on my 96 750. There is a long spring connected to your
rear break peddle. Somehow mine got stretched so that it couldn't pull far
enough to activate the rear break light. It's maybe 10 inches long and has
an about 2 inch long spring built into it. Right side of the bike.
A friend of mine bought a really old KTM that he decided to tour on.
Clearly no racks available. He built a rack for his bike out of carbon
fiber - he's a graphic designer and also builds models of the stuff he's

So I knocked in a couple of times with my hammer and like magic the start
is working fine. I popped it off to blow it out and make sure everything
looks good. I found a minor crack on the end cap - end of the starter
furthest from the engine. When I tightened it back on it cracked big
time.
I rode my bike to a breakfast meeting - bike started fine. Then to a
client site, parked for 20 minutes - bike started fine. Then next meeting,
2 hours later and starter just clicks. Bump start no problem. Drive to
office - wont start - bump start easily. Ride home turn off the bike and

Engine and frame look like a 1991-2003 but the tank and wheels are closer
to the early 80's bikes. Plus the tail light looks like a 90's / 2000's
bike. The side panel looks like a 90's side panel that has been trimmed.

I bought a lockable box on eBay that the license plate mounts to. I can't
find it on eBay right now. It's about an inch deep and fits an extra key
and all my legal paperwork. I taped / wedged the spare key for that box

garage. Probably about the same during the day at my office. I didn't get
to ride this weekend and it dripped all weekend - I put a box under the
drip and moved it every morning and night - always a new drip. Other then

have to say that the penny trick made this so easy to install. I hooked
the spring to my work bench, put a screw driver threw the other end and
pulled up while my 15 year old inserted penny's into the spring - we filled

from the factory for these things? They use an old school spot welder.

I have a Russel Day Long on my St1100. I also have a Corbin for that bike -
I bought both of them on eBay for about $100. I have c Corbin on my 96 75-
and like it on that bike. Let me tell you, the Corbin is really really
hard compared to the Russell. My riders (Kids and wife) really
