I have read a bit of liveship traders myself, and none of the dragon books if that is what they are called,but I was able to keep up just fine with all the farseer books.Heh, slightly ot but now that I have started reading A song of ice and fire series, I see that robin hobb has adopted the same style as grrm in her latest book the fools assassin. Converting audible books to mp3
Converting audible books to mp3 Hi,I recently started using audible and have gotten a few books from them,however the .aa format is beeing a pain in the; yeah.Since I cant load the books to my mp3 player and play them. There are other Ebook readers on IOS and just like any other product ment for the blind costs a bit too much. An example of this would be the bookshare app,I think its called read to go? or some such.Quite on the expensive side but not as much as the bookshare app is voice dream reader. Hi,I havent actually tryed them out or anything,but since its by google,they look promiceing.The moto g, x,and even e? is something that you may want to look out for.at Chandu it depends on how much of a low budget phone you are looking for.But as your name suggests that you are from india, Id recommend checking flipkart for their priceing of these phones. To me the g looks the best option,somewhere between both expensive and cheap,decent specks and such. but ey,I could be confuseing moto g with one of the other letters. Those 2 are the main requirements However if it should happen to be eazy on the hands as it were. Meaning feels nice to hold etc, thatd be awesome as well.Out of all the cases you described the one that interests me the most is the last case the one you cant remember the name to. The way you described it, it sounds just like the case Im looking for,although If the case wasnt plastic it would have been a bonusI havent used many cases honestly, as I am not a fan of cases generally. the only reason Im considering a case for this one Is because of the camera lense. the only otterbox case Ive ever used was for my iphone5 unfortunately cant remember its variant,but I didnt like it so much. Re: getting started with torrenting Hi,@frastlin Let me see if I can help with some of this besides legalities of course, as I am unaware of the laws that exist in the US and the EU countriesUtorrent, Bit comat, bit torrent (I havent used this one) and many others are torrent clients that let you upload torrents and download them from websites like kat.ph or anywhere else that offers torrent filesThese torrent files are nothing but a file containing information about the files that its assigned to. then using p2p you get the bits and pieces from other users to get that same file on to your computer(this is known as leaching), during this time you also upload the bits and pieces you receive to other users who need them. then when you have the hole file, you can continue to provide it to other users as you have a complete copy and you continue to provide the same file to others, you become the seeder of that torrent.Its a bit early for me in the morning though, so sentences and ex planations may come across a bit skewered. A seedbox is a service that downloads torrents for you, seeds them and can also provide you with a way to download those files to your computer using ftp and other methods which do not involve using the torrent network, good for countries where torrenting is frowned upon.a vpn as far as I know, will hide your reale ip address from other people who are leaching and seeding a torrent that you are doing the same to, although I could be wrong here as I havent read about them or used them before.BitTorrent Sync is a dropbox like service as explained above by someone, but I do not think it can be used to download torrents as you can with utorrent and other torrent clients. just got a Iphone6 plus, cases and questions Ahoy allI know I havent posted in a while. But the forum acting a bit crazy as in not remembering to login automaticly and my internet provider decideing to have a flud of incompetent staff that were not able to fix the internet issues that I was experiencing for a few days has contributed to it in one way or the other, but I digressA few days ago, I got a plezent surprise in form of an iphone6 plus. If I had time to decide between Iphone6 and the plus, I suppose I could have chosen a 6 instead of a 6plus, but ey, while its a bit larger than any other phone Ive had or used before, its battery is good, and the bigger screen actually helps in writeing faster.On the other hand, something unexpected at least I did not expect it on a device I was having to pay a arm and a leg for :d the speaker is kinda meh. Its louder, which is a good thing,believe me the speaker on the iphone5 was so quiet I suppose thats the wrong word to use here, th at you couldnt here someone calling you if the phone was on the other end of the room you were sitting in. However the good in those speakers was they didnt distort or crackle at full volume no matter what song was on, or if vo was at 100 percent volume.This though, tends to do that if VO is above 70, hell even at 70 65 percent volume it does show signs of distortion and sort of a crackle. I havent actually tried many songs on its speaker besides a few, so couldnt say,but to a certain extent it happens there, too.The biggest pain in the arse and a cause of worry has been the camera lense that protrudes a bit, and I have been trying to get a case that is not bulcky and is able to get rid of that lense getting scraped or damage which is likely to happen without one, and the search has proved to be fruitless so far. all the stores I have visited either have extremely thin cases, which dont help at all in the way I want them to, or those bulcky cases which make the phone look like a armored monster.The touch ID is kind of nice , specially sinse I upgraded from a 5 which obviously didnt have it and is fun to play around with and makes thhings a bit eazyer when buying apps from the appstore, although it doesnt seem to work sometimes when Ive tried it with a whet finger I suppose that isnt a good idea to do it again,either. Anyway, these are my thoughts after Ive used it for a few days, I dont think its even been a week yet. any suggestions for a good case? tips any apps to try out on ios8 or extentions would be awesome.plus, I wouldnt mind hereing on what your thoughts on the 6plus are, even if you dont own it or do.P.S. Hi,This does sound like something I find useful having to not wait on friends to be available to read the screen and stuff to me when formatting a pc or setting up a new pcHowever, I do have a few questions.The bundles that you guys have hosted, do they contain all the things needed to install windows? I.E the setup as well? or would I need a win7 64bit setup iso. From all the posts that Ive read it does look this has the setup, but I am a little unsure as the setup isos that I have seen have been at least a gb in size if not more. To that I have to say, either its their wishful thinking, or by not a heavy user they mean that the hole day its on standby and not used at all Because here the battery does last a fare bit longer on standby,but on normal useage it does go down farely fast. And yes, I do have my screen off, that is the screen curten on. cellelor data isnt on although wifi is, Bluetooth and location services are disabled, I dont use any gps either.But as I said I havent been using it for a long time, so in time I should be better able to judge how good or bad the fabled battery life on this turns out to be.I suppose I shouldve gotten the 64gb variant of the phone, but that was a little out of my range at that moment. however I have noticed something. the Iphone 6 plus with nothing but ios8.1.2 on it, has less space then a iphone5 with ios8.1.2 and nothing else on it as well. about a gbs difference and I wonder where the hell does that go, or this is another way to get people to buy the more pricey variants instead, or I have a shitty unit. A few of the stores that I have visited dont seem to have it, although its available online which is a good thing, at least.@dark, I suspect its something at my end as well, either the antivirus that Im using or IE being its usual pain in the arse.If I were you, and didnt really need or have a use for all the features that were introduced in ios8, I wouldnt upgrade, least not on a iphone5. The only reason I considered upgradeing my phone from a 5 to a 6 plus was ios8 being a tad slower on a 5 and sometimes, it would shut up for a few seconds and be not as smooth as it was on ios7. but then again as I said, this iphone6 pluswas a sudden surprise and I dont know If without having used it I would have bought it at all or a 6, or just kept on with my 5 til next year.The only thing worth consideration is its better camera and the touch ID and a faster processer as compared to 5,but than again if you stick at ios7, you shouldnt even feel the need for oneThe bigger screen is certainly one of the biggest advantages, and with apple of course, this doesnt feel that heavy as you would expect a phone this large to be.Siri gos through improvements in each successive ios versions, and in 8 it has gotten a few new features,although its not device specific, obviously. This reminds me I actually need to play around with siri more as I havent really done so in ios8,and the poor thing must feel abit neglected When it comes to hardware, I dont think theres anything new at all,besides a exceloromitor of which there are 2 now, to provide bette r precision, or at least this is what I remember fron the launch keynote.I would have liked to go for protection as well, but the thing with most of these cases are they are a bit overkill, and a bit too bulky for my tastes.They are also a bit too much of a pain to get out of a pocket, and sinse that is where I keep my phone at Perhaps I could stand its bulkiness if I could throw my phone out of a airplain without worrying although how I would accomplish such a feet is something to think about. Nvda 2015.1 and the eloquence addon plus some other questions Ahoy all.I have tried nvda off and on sinse 2012 and it is my backup screenreader in case I dont have access to jaws or jaws decides to have a fit. recently I decided that I would learn to use nvda a bit more, in depth as it were. Having been using jaws sinse I started using computers Im quite used to eloquence, and so I almost always use nvda with eloquence too as Im more comfortable with it.Now heres the trouble. I downloaded the latest stable version of nvda 2015.1 , and Installed the eloquence addon from jefs website. When I first switched the sinths, I got an error and it stayed with its default sinth on trying a second time, it did switch to eloquence, but the eloquence with nvda at least seems to lag, I.E Im reading a line and before that line is finished I press down arrow to read another line. itll continue to read the same line a few words more then go on to the second line.When I try to change setti ngs I.E speed language etc, I cannot seem to do that either. Re: Some questions about iOS Hi,While ITunes may not work so well with audiobooks an such because having different folders for audiobooks is quite needed,songs if put in a playlist will do just as well.ITunes might be a bit complicated to learn at first for some people, I personally found it just as eazy or hard as any other software. Transfering music or adding music to your phone can be done quite eazyly in the ways explained above, and I dont really see what could be more eazyer than say pasting the files you want into the automaticly add to iTunes folder and when you connect and sync your phone for the music to get transferred to your phone and be available in the music app.If you have a main directory of music which youd like symced to your iphone, you can also have iTunes just add that folder for you. However as pitermach said, if songs are not labeled well and are missing albom and other info,obviously the music app will show those songs in unknown albom and so on. HiI downloaded all the voices I could get my hands on from here so thanks for uploading the voices!I have only installed the English voices so far, and while arthor and Martha are good they seem to be a bit choppy and low quality, and no I am not using the compact voices. how to send iphone's audio to pc? Ahoy allI have been wanting to record playthroughs/ walkthroughs for all these nice games out there for IOS,While I could just use any recording app at all to record some games along with my voice as the iphone's mic is quite good and voice over and the game audio can be captured with the iphone's microphone, there are games that use audio positioning I.E Audio defense,sixth sense, A blind legend, the papasangre games and so on which either require the use of headphones or recording them wouldn't just work using this method. So here is what I've been looking to do, make output of the iphone go through the pc speakers somehow,so that I could use a headset to play and record the output of the iphone. In Which ways do you guys do this? or do you know or have read of a method that might help me with recording playthrough or what you will on a iphone without losing any audio content or quality?I've read somewhere maybe on this forum or elsewhere tha t using a 3.5 male to male jack and listen to microphone setting available in windows something like this could be done, however first, my laptop only has a single in/out jack for both headphones and mic and second I have no clue what those things are called.The first problem could be solved with a usb soundcard? I'm guessing and for the 3.5 male to male jack cable through all the searches I've done I've come up with a aux cable. is it what those thingys are actually called?Not really sure and if there's another method that could be used to accomplish the same thing, I'd sure be really glad to heare of it. as long as it doesn't end up costing me a lot,of course. I'd be getting better machines with a better configeration at any rate at that price, but its quality that I'm not sure about. Mbps quality I have heard loads about but I'm wondering if its processor will run jaws and such with a few other applications without any issues.The mbp I could upgrade with a 16gb ram to begin with and later on ssd, but I don't think I can get its processors upgraded here.Having one of those actual applestores around here would have been quite useful right about now. I've heard roomers of they starting a apple store in about 2017 but that doesn't help me much right now :dI'm not sure about this, but When I visited a store and asked for the hp notebook defender posted above, I was told that hp15-ab522tx was a newer version of that moddle. These companys should really come up with names that are easyer to remember, I mean who can remember just a bunc h of letters and numbers. Ot I know but still Each and every machine that I have looked at so far and that I have been able to find reviews on seem to have some or the other problem with them. I.E the hp 15 according to laptopmag has a shitty dim display which sucks so bad that even normal stuff doesn't appear clear on it. Sure seeing as I am blind I shouldn't have any issues with that,but seriously how do they get away with pushing out products like that and people actually buying them?And aye, I don't really see for what I might need to use OSX Windows is all I can think uses of atm, I.E mudding,audio games,reading (eloquence) and stuff like that. although I guess I could scan etc on a mac as well.I should be getting a windows pc with all these in mind,but then all the things I've heard about mbps so far have been nothing but good,and unlike all those pcs I haven't seen any floors in the mbp so far. Re: New computer,what should I go for,mac,windows etc Ahoy allA few questions that I just thought of.@exodus, I was comparing the processor that the 2012 mbp has I5 not the I7, because I haven't seen any I7 macs floating around.Along the same lines, I don't think the moddle I'm looking at is a LA but a md101 HNA or some such.I did ask the guy in the service center if I could upgrade my ram and hdd that is replace the hdd with a ssd,. To which he was like, you can upgrade the ram to 8gb, but many people do it to 16gb as well,but then if your machine has any issues like overheating we won't support you or something along those lines.The idiot was like you can't change the hdd in this when I know that it can be done just fine. duh.See what I mean about having a proper applestore around here...And, the max processor that I can get my macbookpro 2012 is the one it comes with I.E the I5, because the same guy was like we don't upgrade processors. At least I dam well hope so!!!I traveled to the store to look at a few windows moddles that were avalable,and if none were to my liking to grab a mbp 2012. I was able to find a few good moddles I'll talk about them in a bit, and I would've ended up getting a mbp because those good moddles while good were slightly more than I could pay/had the cash on me.It turns out that the amount I had to pay as the downpayment wasn't right as told to me by the guy working at the store a few days ago,even though I confirmed the details with him at least 4 times.So had to come back due to lack of cash to pay the dp with for either machines that I liked.There's this fantastic machines, too much for my needs,but like only a few thousands more, which translates to 30 40 $$ more than what a mbp with a 256gb ssd w ould end up costing me with 8gb ram.Its a asus ROG 552gl? or something along those lines, I'm a bit drained out so can't be sure on the sequence of the letter and digits.I7 hq 6th gen processor,8gb ddr4 ram,4gb graph,1tb 7200rpm hdd. now I'm just wondering, what's the fucking catch? I' mean its one of those things too good to be trueOh and, its a aluminum chassy too,just like the macs or so it felt to me anyhow.Second is a hp I7U processor,16gb ddr 4 ram,could be 8 not sure,and the rest the same.I'll find the hp moddle and exact config and post again, editing is such a pain on ios,hence my posts come out as they have been. You both have been really helpful. and of course for putting up with all those questions.I'm mainly a windows user, that is I have only used windows so far,and everything I do From reading to watching to playing games,torrenting here and there and so on, gets easyly done on windows just fine, but the reason I have been jumping through hoops whether to buy a apple mac or a windows pc is exactly because of long lasting that is having a long life and quality.I think defender puts it just right when he saysHowever, there is no point in having a class pacing machine that breaks before it can show it's value, even if the HP and Dell in question are both quite good in terms of that, so it's ultimately up to you if your willing to take that risk.For the cost of a mbp,and a ssd,and a ram(80 82k) I could probably get a del I7 6500u? if that's the right name of the processor, with 16gb ram,1tb hdd,4gb or 2gb graph etc, which should last me if nothing at least in terms of performance/slow downs for 4 years minimum.But that's what I'm not sure about. The quality of the machine as the hole, plus its components lasting for that long.For example, my lenovo z500,6gb ram,1tb hdd,a I5 third gen M processor, but ever sinse I got it, after a few months it had slowdowns,and not really working as smooth as you'd expect a macchine like that to work. Overheating, lagging when I played injustice it was slightly alright on low settings,but anything over that would threten to break its heart out. Hell, it'd get so hot that I couldn't even touch its left edge for long periods.Thought it needed cleaning out, had that done, no difference. Formatted it just in case it was infected, no good. and it just carried on from there. Taking ages to boot,word files taking ages to open,that too n ot even 20pages or so. in the end I thought it was just hardware ands let it go.This ain't saying lenovo is bad all over, the previous machine that I had,4gb ram,core to dio(can't spell the dam thing)processor, ran win7 on it, and I can say it worked far better than the lenovo z500This is the reason why I am not just looking at specksheets and jumping to get the best processor and so on.now I know, I most probably won't be able to play games like skullgirls,injustice and so on on a mac,but as long as I get long life,and a hardware that ain't shitty, I'm willing to be without because I never was so good at those anyhow. On the ram front, by god these indian companys really charge as they would the buyers around here.Example,I whent to amazon.in, and looked for a 8gb ram to put on a mac,and 1x8gb ram kit is costing me about 54/55$ (about 3500INR) and on amazon.com with free international shipping to india, I'm getting 16gb 8gb x2 kits for $53! and 1 8gb for about $27 or so. sheesh.I guess I have about $100 or so,if I am able to get a small ssd under that, for OS's and such, I am thinking I could squeese in a 8gb ram as well. I'm wondering though, if it would be possible for me to swap out a 2gb apple ram and put in a 8gb crucial kit in that slot and have 10gb ram,without it causing issues?I've heard that replacing the hdd and ram doesn't void apple warranty however fucking around with the optical does. so I don't think my small ssd idea would work out that good,I.E swap out the optical for a smaller ssd, and keep the internal for movies and so on.Defender, could you see and let me know if the hp15-ab522tx is similar to the moddle you suggested just with a better processor?Woot, apple keynote is in a hour or so, finally,looking forward to that,at least. The asus rog gl552 is truely a confusing series,that's for sure. althose different moddles with almost the same configs and so on.Win10 is indeed a drawback but then I suppose its a drawback I'll have to deal with all the newer machines with a I7 processor.The mbp shouldn't have that issue,so that's a plus.The asus from what I have seen doesn't have win7 drivers either, although there are a few around but I don't think its a complete set or proper.They do seem to have the drivers only for win10 and perhaps win8.1Sheesh, looks like if I don't want to use win10, I'll have to go the pirate root anyhow.These are the 2 the mbp and the asus that I have decided on, now whatever's available, is what I get. As soon as it sees empty space, it starts filling.Hell, my Iphone was not even able to connect to Itunes because there was 0kbps left on it.Itunes just threw up errors, but In the end I figured it the errors were caused by full space and after I deleted all songs, I could at least restore.I've been having nothing but shit happening to me sinse a few days. Iphone and mac storage filling up automatically Ahoy there.This is quite a strange issue I have never encountered before.When I bought my mac, and updated it, the apps were taking about 20gb of space or so. I installed vlc,bit torrent and nothing else.I also downloaded a isoYesterday, I saw my space at 27gb as taking up by the applications.Today, the same application space shows as 30gb and the only thing I have done on this mac since yesterday is written 3 pages documents, and browse safari.My iPhone has 16gb storage, and all in all I had about 1.5gb free on it, after all the music and such were accounted for since a few days/week.Today, I see that everything else is the same, music,others apps,pictures etc, but yet! My iPhone only has 300mb of free space left and I'm getting storage almost full, manage storage bra bla.I deleted a few applications,and content like podcasts and such.space was about 800mb remaining after that, Low and behold I check in the settings/gener al/usage/storage again and what do I find that 800mb has come down to 100mb After that, I deleted each and every app, signed out of iCloud,and still with my music taking up 2.2gb it was still full at 9.5gb and the rest free.I check after a while again,and I see used space 11.5gb and free space 0kb.This has never ever happened with me in the last 3 years I have been using a iphone5, and now the 6plus. I plan on restoring my iPhone to factory settings and see if that helps any, however the increasing size of this mac's taken up space makes me quite uneasy after what has happened with my iPhone.any ideas? any of you experienced such a thing before?Having a wonderful day,so I am. The thing that's quite limiting is the space but I suppose I can use the external hdd for movies,audiobooks and such.just getting used to the system,and so far it doesn't really feels as good as I thought it'd. Even on a sad alex has troublee in keeping up with my typing which jaws and nada manage just fine. Not to mention the bugs in this OSX that came installed with it, learning a hole new OS and a few other things don't really make it quite pleasant...Don't know what the hell I was thinking when I got this instead of a md101. that might have been slower,but would have worked for me just fine. I know this post sounds kind of complaining and such but I needed to share my stupidity wit h someone. You can't say this sucks after you go above your budget when you had no clue what you were on lol. but eh, I guess I'll get used to it.I have updated the map from the App Store, and at least the updates it gave me, I'm wondering whether I need to do something special for updating the firmware before I go ahead and install windows or will the App Store work to do it?Anything I should optimise to make accessibility more easier? or the experience better? I.E voiceover settings and so on. mac os questions and usage tips Ahoy all.Now that it has been a few days with my mac I have gotten used to it a bit,and although I still feel its a bit slow, I'm not as majorly annoyed as I was a few days ago.My stupidity aside in getting a MacBook Pro 2015 instead of a far better 2012 or a windows pc, I do have a few questions that I haven't been able to figure out by reading apples and such.In finder, say I have a folder in list view, and another window or folder open in finder again. how would I go about navigating between the 2?a example of such a thing would be a documents folder open and a downloads folder.Something along those lines, how do I get finder not to open multiple windows when navigating the filesystem?And ehh, cmd o to open a file or a folder instead of enter? I find that really clumsy that's one of the major pain in the arse apart from anything else.I suppose I might end be forced to end up with win10. win8.1 iso that actually can b e installed without a key looks like quite impossible to find,there are ways or so I have read,but which requires editing the iso, which macs can't do by default.and since this is a mbp2015 I can't install win7 on the dam thing. I.E SCM to sum. I'm thinking if its not possible to install win7 through bootcamp, and I'm not sure if I want to run win10 just yet, would it be a good idea to virtualise a win7 on this MacBook Pro?The only reason I ask is this is a 2015 map 13.inch and it feels kinda slow even when browsing pages and such.Btw, doesn't a mac have some indicator that it has actually started? Its dam awesome though, not even a single beep from it,when you start it up but the screen remains black for 10 s econds or so,after which the apple logo appears and in 5 seconds or so the machine comes up with the login dialogue.Doesn't it even visually have a light or some such that comes on when the system has started but hasn't finished booting?Thanks.p.s. if virtualisation is possible on this machine, which virtualisation software is the best? Itunes actually checks which country you have chosen and where the creditcard is from so there the country matters but I do not believe audible does it yet. I see a ipad pro on there not a macbook pro.I guess business laptops are defenatly noyt something I could buy for now, but macs are somewhat similar. They aren't really targeted as such, I.E advertised like that, but they are in terms of quality similar to most business cklass laptops if not better.Of course I have never had anything to do with a business laptop or such so I wouldn't know anything about them, but people around me that have had a mac have used the things for ages and ages,that too without issues in which I often tend to run into on my windows macchines after 2 or so years.Say what one will about apple being a tad bit steap when it comes to pricing, but imo you get what you pay for. you pay high but you do get quality.Has anyone used asus machines? if so, how good are they? Looking for audiobook series Ahoy allI don't have access to my primary/ only laptop atm, and am stuck with using a ios device full time.The bluetooth keyboard does make browsing and things like that quite eazy,but I still need something to get rid of this bordom, a little.I thought of listening to harry potter jim dail versions again, crazy I know. :dI even found them on youtube, but wouldn't you guess after 2 3 hours of me having started on the first book, the dam videos were deleted from youtube. So I'm getting at this. If any of you happens to have Harry potter books read by jim dail, if you could dropbox them and send me the link, I'd appriciate it loads.Don't post the links on the forum, either pm me or e-mail. please try and have them in either m4b or a single whatever format fileI do have those books already,but they are in my hdd, so I can't get access to them on this iphone.Upload second books onwards. Even though I can't get the best mac out there,I guess the lower ends might just do me as well,again as long as they are available around here.Your views regarding macs generally match what I've seen myself, and that's one reason I'm even thinking of macs at all.Funnyly enough, imo macs make the best windows machines out there,although a bit steap in price terms.I had almost forgotten about wwdc, and I'll try and hold on til then because I'm more likely to get a better deal at that point than otherwise, but dunno if I can make do without til then.Thanks, either way, I'll keep all of that in mind when I go to make a purchase. The only thing I can do in Hindi is to speak it,but then there's hardly any material or such that is in Hindi over here or that one gos through in schools or such. Not to mention, Hindi is hardly used online or anywhere in tech you are likely to find almost all languages included in a software as a option,but hardly ever hindi. There's a Sinth, that might be of help to you, however I never really liked it myself, sounds a bit too wierd for my liking. New computer,what should I go for,mac,windows etc Ahoy allThat's quite a lengthy subject, I know :dI'm looking to replace the laptop I'm currently using(lenovo z500) with either another windows machine or a mac where I can run windows either via duel boot,or vmware or whatever it is that mac users use to have windows on their macs.My budget is quite low,though I can extend it if a machine that's good and slightly above the price I'm willing to go at. About $800 or so,maybe 900, that's about 50k 55 60k INRI'm looking for whatever lasts me the longest, doesn't behave as badly as this lenovo z500, allows me to brows and play games without freezing or programs crashing with not responding dialogues.I5,or I7 processers would be nice although I guess only Asus I7 machines would meet my budget the ones with free doss on them,but if you can think of any,it'd be welcome just the same, 6 to 8 gb of ram,1tb hdd. is all I'm looking for. graphics card would be ni ce,but it don't matter either way.If macs,which would in the end be the cheaper but yet provide me with enough horsepower to run windows alongside for when I need it,without lagging or issues.I bought this Lenovo z500 about 2 years ago,and even though its a I5 M processer,6gb ram with 1tb hdd, it slows down a lot. Even with jaws, skype,Thecube and a few other applications running, it most often will show signs of strain,either by heating up or lagging slightly in places. Quite disappointing it not even lasting for 2 years considering the price I bought it for.I've done a clean install that is completely formated it a few times,installed windows, even had a guy over to open it up and clean its inside bits,but it behaves the same.So I'm just thinking of repairing its screen issue which is quite strange, I.E the screen displays just fine when windows booting,but as soon as the welcome screen shows up, the screen turns blank but I digress. Where was I again? ahh yeah repair the screen issue and selling this off and buying a new laptop to take notes on, and brows and stuff like that,which works well. As always, Its full of info that I needed.Its not mac vs windows debait that I'm going for on here, but the machines themselves, I actually do know a fare bit about macs, I blame all you mac enthusiasts for that. :dWhat I am actually looking for is something that lasts me a fare while without issues, as I have to deal with this z500 here, Before this machine I had a g550? or some such which worked quite well considering it was a coretod machn.The only reason I'm considering a mac is because of its life.
